Mark of the leader

Each Clan is ran by a leader ( or head ) the individual is usually a Royal but in some cases regular Silver bloods have been Clan leaders.
These individuals are often referred to as King or Queen by others.

The leader of the clan bears a mark on their back ( human form) that symbolizes them as the head of that clan, the mark is located between the shoulder blades and the base of the neck.
It will have the symbol of the clan and for Royals their familiar as well, for regular Silver bloods it will be their element.

It takes a week for the mark to fully show, and it's not Pleasant, the area feels like extremely bad sunburn as the mark start to form, it will look in blotchy patches at first and develop into the crest of the new clan leader. For non Royals it takes even longer and is more painful as the mark develops.

These marks are past down to the next leader through different ways.

One, is by inheritance, when a clan leader has an offspring, the child with be born with a small birthmark on their back, it's not as elaborate as their parents but it shows that their the next in line for leadership.
When the child's parent releases the title or they passes through natural causes the mark on their offsprings back will then fully develop into the clan mark.

Two: the relinquish of title, this is we're the clan leader will give their clan over to other, depending on the situation this can be done different ways, but it involves using their arm bands.

Three: challenge: another silverblood can challenge the clan head for leadership over the clan, in most cases it ends in the death of one of the individuals, but do to the few numbers of the Silver blood people this method of gaining leadership is used as a last resort.

Four: stripped: this is we're the clan leadership is stripped and taken from the individual, this is usually done after a Council trial.

Along with getting the crest on their back the clan leaders arm bands will have a particular symbol on them, this is the first thing they gain when the individual becomes clan leader, it also what triggers the mark to form on the individuals back.
The mark on the arm bands pass the location of the Clans strongholds are at and a few other things that are we related to that Clan. ( Thou not many of the young silver bloods can read the Vaseterm language fully unless they were raised with that privilege, so many do not know how to use their arms )

How the clan operates, is you have your
civilians: they may be just as skilled as the other classes but prefer to just make a living, their also the life blood of the clan because many of them do the common jobs that are needed, like cooking, teaching and crafting Etc..

Warriors: their the folks that get more training in particular skills, like crafting and blacksmith, they do more of the hunting and guard Duty, and they're usually balanced out in their magic and visions.

honor guards: they are the first line of defense of the clan, they are highly skilled in combat with summon weapons and Magic, they often the ones guarding the Royals or clan leader.
( Usually not strong in visions)

Pathfinders: are more skilled in using their visions then the other classes, How late is this depends on the individual, some use it for battle strategies, as others in finding lost child's.
A lot of Pathfinders are teachers or explorers
(Usually Not as strong in combat as honor guards)

Clerics: are the Healers in the clan, they ether us Magic, Alchemy or science.

Royals: are the head Defenders of the clan ( they do not have /Guardian/ familiars for no reason, Guardian have a interesting origin...but that for a different time) they are quite talented with their Magic and visions, they are also gifted with a Guardian familiar, a living element of Magic that pass down though their blood line, with them the Royal can awaken to the form know as a War horse.
Then you have your clan leader: Clan leaders are supposed to lead and protect their people, they are the judge for the laws the clan abide by.

Each Clan is ran a different way depending on the leader at that time.

some look out for their people, as other have abused their power.

When a Royal or clan leader actions are in question, a call to form a Council with the other clan leader is made, the clan leaders gather and can be accompanied by 3 others people, this is for the leader protection and for show, (bringing males or Royals would show a higher status on the clan, to some coming with half bloods or outsider would lower the clan status within the council)

When the Council forms, it becomes a debate for the ones in question, it works like a voting system, who ever has the most the room in their favor wins.

If the clan leaders crimes have been ruled as to severe and Leadership is stripped from them ( and it's not a pleasant experience ) the leadership is then give to another person, the previous leader is then outcast or in the most extreme circumstances executed.

at the time of Deluna there was thousands of clans but now only a handful remain.

Because of this and how the silver blood people are Hunted, the location of glands is a well kept secret, normally only clan members know the location and those who are brought into it have a seal place on them to keep that individual from giving the location of the clans we're about to though that are enemies.(aka Omen)

Other classes of silver black people.

Outcast: these are individuals who have either deserted their clan or have been kicked out, they are forced to ether seek out a new clan or try and live on their own.

Adrift:
After the fall of Deluna many silver blood got separated from their Clans, and we're never able to find them, they Adrift forced to live on their own without a clan, some do manage to find others adrift like themselves and stick together as a nameless clan as other just live alone.

Lost child: these are individuals who have been abandoned by their parents at a young age, this is not uncommon for the Vaseterm people, a male will General fight to the death to protect his family as a female will leave her child and use herself as bait to lure what ever is hunting them away from her child, if the parents are able they will return but all to often they never able to.

Omen: is an outcast, though he technically was never recognized as been a member of a clan in the first place. Even so Omen by Vaseterm law he would be the clan leader to countless clans for killing their leaders, he would even be their high king for challenging and killing the previous ruler but because of the marking on his back Omen can not gain the crest of the clan leader, and the mark on his arm bands ( someone was thinking ahead when they made Omen....)
Omen/Judas is is actually quite self-consciously aware of his marking and doesn't like to show his back or chest, he does however show his shoulders that are a warning that he is chaos and Mayhem for those who can read the Vaseterm language

I see the Silver Spears' mark has Ivory and Ebony on it... so I assume those creatures on the other marks are those clans' Familiars. That is really really cool. :P

Your world would make an awesome game I think. Like an RPG or something, but it has potential to be anything except maybe a shooter... But, wait, didn't the Vaseterm have advanced technology and weaponry in the past?
