The only creatures able to survive the heat of the sun are the Solar Merpeople, which makes them perfect to create moons. The Lunar Goddess employs them to collect and melt down asteroids and metieorites, then transfer the molten rock to a planet without a moon. The sun becomes a lunar forge for the solar system.
