"I... I'm not sure," the fox responded. He never dared to imagine what things would be like without his best friend there to help out. While within that deep thought, the fox recieved a call from a communicator he was carrying. "Tails, where's Sonic?" a voice asked from the other side of the call. The fox responded hesitantly, "I'm not sure, I'll try and see if I can contact him." With that statement, Tails proceded to see just what was delaying his friend's arrival, using his trusty 'Miles Electric'. However, even with how advanced that tablet was, it was unable to reach the hedgehog he was hoping to see. "I don't understand," Tails thought to himself, worried about his best friend, "why isn't he answering?" Just as the kitsune finished that thought, the group found themselves at a dead end. "Well, that's just great!" a bystander cried in dismay. Even with all of this pressure rising, and with so many in panic, there was one Mobian who remained silent throughout the entire endeavor.

It was a sky blue wolf that had a long dark brown pelt protruding from her head, and even though she appeared calm and collected, in reality, her mind was going off like a nuclear bomb. "What are we going to do now?" the wolf thought to herself, "how can we ever get out of something like this?" Suddenly, several blasts began to fly towards the cornered group, catching their attention. "EVERYBODY DOWN!" Tails yelled in warning, giving the others just enough time to dodge the incoming fire. Still hidden, the wolf kneeled down and placed her bag on the ground, a purplish-pink Wisp flying out soon after. "I don't know how we're gonna get out of this, Zap. Everyone's in tight spots, and that so-called 'hero' isn't doing his job right now," she said in fear. Hoping to cheer her up, the Wisp -now known as Zap- placed her small hand on the wolf's shoulder. "Don't worry," said Zap, "I know you're scared, but things will get better, I just know it!"

After hearing Zap's optimistic remark, the wolf couldn't help but smile. "Oh Zap, you always know when to say those things, don't you?" the wolf said with relief. "Hey, it's the least I could do. Besides, you helped me when I needed it the most," the Wisp stated. The wolf sighed, remembering when the duo first met in the Great Forest. It was when Zap got separated from her home and crash-landed onto Mobius, a rather saddening time at first, but when the two crossed paths after the crash, thay swore to always be there for each other. "It's still a shame we ended up dragged into this mess," said the wolf, with a sad look on her face. Once again, Zap tried to comfort her. "I don't like any of this either, Fabi. I mean, we don't even know who this 'Robotnik' guy is," she said, slightly irritated. "Yeah, he seems like a real pain," said Fabi. Interuptting their conversation, the group from earlier was struck with fear while robots were marching towards them, with Tails in front of the rest.

Leading those robots was none other than the mustached madman himself: Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Upon seeing him, Zap gasped in surprise, immediately remembering who he was, as he was the reason so many of her old friends were put in danger. In fury, she flew in front of the cornered group of Mobians, not realizing the circumstances. "HEY, BALDY NOSEHAIR!" Zap shouted in anger, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" Fabi was watching the events unfold, sweating and trembling in fear. "What's she doing?" she thought, "she'll get hurt if something goes wrong." On the other hand, Tails was shocked at Zap's appearance, remembering one of his adventures with Sonic. "Y-You're one of those aliens from the Interstellar Amusement Park, right?" the fox asked. "Yep," Zap replied, "and I'm more than fed up with that tyrant over there!" Zap pointed to the doctor, who also did not expect these events to unfold. "Well, well," Robotnik spoke, "I wasn't expecting to see one of these things again."

The doctor had experimented with Hyper-Go-On energy before, but that plan ended in an unfortunate disaster (for him). "Hmm... Perhaps this time I can push this alien energy to its maximum potential," Robotnik thought to himself, coming up with a plan to capture Zap. "Alright then," the doctor stated, "robots, ATTACK!" Zap was caught off guard, and the robots immediately began charging towards the small Wisp. With the adrenaline overflowing in her body, Fabi ran out from her hiding spot to try and protect Zap and the others. "No!" Fabi cried, "I won't let you take Zap away!" "You know this one?" Tails asked. "Yeah," said Zap, "we've known each other for a long time now." Robotnik laughed at what he believed was a desperate attempt. "Ha! Give me a break," he taunted, "what can a child like you do to stop me?" Fabi was unsure of what to say then, knowing how cowardous she usually was. "Listen," she began, "Zap is the only friend I've had in years. Before then, I was just a lonely girl."

Fabi then proceded to reveal a valueable item she always kept with her: a locket that she had hidden under her shirt. "I knew I had to hold on to hope during those times," she continued, opening the locket to reveal pictures of her younger self with her parents, "however, when something pressures you to make a certain decision that ends up hurting the ones you care about, you really can't decide who to trust, as both options could lead to hard times." "Just as you're doing to these people, Eggman," Tails added. After that short speech, Mobians in the small group began sparking up conversation. "Wow, is that true?" asked one person. "If it is, that kid's got it rough," said another, adding on, "I hope she's doing okay." Noticing their concern, Fabi turned around to face the group, seeing a few of the members walk towards her. "Umm, I..." she stuttered, but was surprised when they held their hands out in respect. Even Zap, a naturally trusting being, was not expecting this to happen.

"Kid, whatever happened to you back then, we're glad you're doing okay now," one of the Mobians said, the rest of them giving thumbs up to show approval. "I, I don't know what to say..." Fabi stuttered. Zap followed saying "Yeah, me neither." Robotnik was caught off guard by the event, but decided to use it to his advantage. "Oh, wow, a happy moment. Time to ruin it!" With that statement, he sent his robots charging at the group, and with Sonic absent, Tails decided to fight them off himself. He used a Spin Dash to tear through one of the Egg Pawns, and used his two tails to destroy another. "Everyone, you need to get out of here, quick!" the fox demanded. "What?!" Zap cried in disbelief, "Why?" "I don't want any of you to get hurt from all of this, or worse..." Tails responded. Fabi felt as scared as a deer in the headlights, but after a few seconds of thinking, she had made her decision, her eyes narrowing in the process. "No." "Huh?" Tails asked in disbelief.

"I'm not letting you do this alone," Fabi responded, "you'll need as much help as possible in something like this." Zap followed, saying, "Yeah, besides, you seem a bit young to be out here. Can't let your adventures be short-lived." "They're right, Tails," said one of the bystanders, "they mess with one of us, they mess with ALL of us!" The other Mobians cheered with courage, inspired by the valiant efforts that were heard of in the past. Eggman, however, did not appreciate what was going on. "Are we really doing this again? Hello, big bad villain over here!" he cried. Fabi and the others snapped their attention back to Eggman after he gave that remark. "So you admit to being a tyrant who see's a creature's life source as nothing more than a battery for machines," Zap countered, "I guess that works." "Silence you glowing pest!" Eggman commanded, catching Zap by surprise when he simultaneously presses a button on his control panel, causing Zap to be trapped onto a magnet of sort.

"Hey!" she cried, "Let me go!" "Zap!" Fabi shrieked, running to her friend only to be halted by several robots guarding the trap. "I don't think so," Eggman taunted, "I already have enough pests to deal with, and I don't need another!" Clenching her fists and narrowing her eyes, Fabi made her frustration very apparent, giving a low growl from her throat. "I swear, if you don't let go of Zap, I'll-" Fabi began, only to be interupted by her opponent. "Do what, start a howl?" he countered. That comment made Fabi furious. "Okay, THAT WAS JUST RACIST! I've never howled in my life, nor have I had a reason to!" she scolded, being pretty much done with Eggman in general. Meanwhile, Zap was trying to her hardest to break free from the magnet. "Come on, come on," she said, struggling to disconnect from her trap. "Hold on!" Tails cried, after destroying several more of the robots, "I'll be there as soon as I can!" Stuck within the conflict at hand, Fabi took a moment to scan her surroundings.

Along with Tails, each of the other Mobians was fighting off at least one or more robots, dispite the lack of ways to defend themselves. Fabi usually did not get to see such courage up close, as she never wanted to get directly involved with anything dangerous, especially after some past experiences. 'All of these people,' she thought to herself, 'they're really fighting for a better future, and aren't worrying about any negative outcomes? I mean, what if someone gets injured to the point they have to be hospitalized, or worse, what if someone gets killed right on the spot?!' Needless to say, Fabi had a bad habit of being pessimistic about war-like conflict, even though she had never seen it first-hand until now. She looked back to where Zap was trapped, seeing the difficulty she had with trying to escape from the electromagnet. "I wouldn't struggle if I were you," Robotnik scolded, "my plans have been thwarted far too many times before, but this time, I WILL FINALLY REIGN SUPREME!"

Fabi was clenching her fists very tightly, showing both anger and fear, before noticing the controller Robotnik was using to control the electromagnet. Low on ideas, she dashed past the robots and jumped onto the scientist's hovercraft from behind. "What the," the doctor mumbled before turning around and seeing Fabi, "GET OFF MY EGGMOBILE!" "Not until you let go of Zap!" Fabi demanded, reaching for the controller in Eggman's hand. "Not happening, little pup!" he countered, pressing another button on the device, calling two Egg Pawns with jetpacks. "Don't let her get the controls!" he commanded, trying to push Fabi away. The robots then proceeded to grab Fabi by the arms, lifting her into the air. "Hey, put me down!" she barked, flailing he dangling feet in desparation. "Fabi!" Zap gasped, still struggling to escape. However, during her attempts, a small crystal had began forming on Fabi's locket. Tails looked to see what was happening, and ran to help, only to be surrounded by robots.

'How are they coming in so quickly?' Tails thought in confusion, still attempting to fight the robots off. "There's too many of them!" one of the Mobians cried, ending up cornered alongside many others. Still struggling with the Egg Pawns, Fabi saw how overwhelming things were becoming for everyone. Now, in addition to the materializing crystal, the black lightning marks that were visible on her body began to flash in the same color as that very gem. "It's a shame that won't be able to use my secret weapon," Eggman said with a sense of triumph, "it would have been the end for you fools." Hearing that statement, Fabi remembered something very important someone told her in the past:

"We may make easy decisions, but that doesn't mean they'll always work out. The choices that are hardest to make, those will have more benefit in the end."

'That's right,' she thought, 'I chose to be here, and that was a tough choice to make; but if that hero's not gonna do their job, somebody else has to.'

Finishing that thought, Fabi closed her eyes as her marks went from quickly flashing to giving off a consistent glow with small sparks. "I'll admit doc, you know how catch someone off guard," she said, getting Eggman's attention. "However, I've seen enough to know when someone has to do something about a conflict," Fabi continued as the sparks grew stronger, the crystal on her locket becoming clearly visible. "What the-" Eggman said in disbelief, "what's going on?" "I can't let you hurt those people, doc. In fact..." Fabi stated, as Zap started to glow too. "Huh?" she said, and had stopped struggling when she saw this phenomenon. The sparks were now the size of lightning bolts, slowly overloading the Egg Pawns that held Fabi captive. With the crystal now completely solid, she felt an incredible current surge through her body as she clenched her fists tightly. "I'M DONE WITH THIS!" Fabi howled, her eyes now glowing a blinding light as they snapped open.

With one final tug against the robots' arms, a powerful shockwave was released throughout the area, overloading and disabling all of the other robots in the area. Now free and on the ground, Fabi sprinted towards Eggman, snatched his remote, and deactivated the magnet that had Zap trapped. "Phew!" Zap exclaimed, flying to her now supercharged friend's arms shortly afterwards. "Thanks, Fabi," she said, before noticing the crystal on Fabi's locket. "Where'd this come from ?" Zap asked. Fabi saw this as well, and held the locket in her hand as the glow in her eyes faded. "I'm not sure, but its almost as if it helped me when it appeared," she explained briefly. Meanwhile, everyone else was speechless, until Tails finally decided to speak. "H-How did you do that?" he asked. The duo heard the fox's question, running to his side in response. "To be honest, I'm not sure how this happened. I knew I had electrical powers, but they were never at this scale," Fabi answered.

"Usually they were used for little things like sparking a fire, or jumpstarting a small generator, but for this..." Zap began to elaborate, "...I think it might have something to do with my Hyper-Go-Ons." "Really?" Fabi asked, before realizing that her friend was glowing alongside the crystal, "Oh, that's why." After being stunned by the EMP, Eggman snapped back to his senses, with a new problem on his mind. "IMPOSSIBLE! How can this be? I planned my attack so well!" he cried, before recieving a response. "Actually, no. You planned for if ANOTHER GUY were to show up; you didn't plan for me or Zap," Fabi corrected, with a tad of snark present in her voice. "No matter," Eggman said, no longer in shock, "there's plenty more where that came from!" With that, he called over yet another group of robots to aprehend his opponents. "Seriously, where does he get all of these things?" Zap questioned in disbelief. "That doesn't matter," Fabi exclaimed, the sparks growing in intensity once again.
