Asher looked at Sirius with a dumbfounded expression. “What do you mean? It’s popcorn; there’s at least ten different flavors. Cheddar, Parmesan, Caramel, Kettle, Classic.” He smiled. “We can also put olive oil and salt in plain popcorn, which is an entirely different flavor from classic.” - Nimue stopped walking. “That question is not something I can answer. I guess you’re right...” She then continued following him. “Just don’t be mean about her. Hate her all you want, but in the end, she will always be your sister whether you like her or not.” At this point, Nimue wasn’t entirely sure what she was saying, but she just went with it.
“I am afraid we won’t have the same tastes.” He said as they arrived. He opened the door after kicking some of the snow away. “Why don’t we make one of each? That way, you have more options.” - Nimue was about to say something, but Amittai’s sudden actions startled her. She instinctively hushed her voice and tucked her tail between her legs.
He laughed. “It will be a pain to do it, but in the end, it will be worth it!” Asher stepped inside and closed the door, then put his shoes against the wall to dry. “What kind of movie would you like to watch?” - She narrowed her eyes at him and flicked her tail away from him. “It doesn’t make sense. There’s so many police cars here, yet the crime rate is disturbingly high.” Then, Nimue elbowed Amittai in the arm. “That running idea was horrible. He probably saw two sketchy individuals sprint into an alleyway, and if he saw us, he might come back to check.”
“We can watch any movie you want to watch. Ah, but please stay away from romantic comedies; I dislike those.” He took his jacket off and placed it on the arm of the couch, then handed Sirius the TV remote. “It’s already on the movie-streaming application. Just scroll through those while I go make the popcorn.” And with that, Asher headed to the kitchen. - “I don’t understand why humans think we’re so strange. They’re strange! They’re ugly, they smell bad, and they all are forced to wear clothes!” She crossed her arms, then blushed when she started rambling again. “Sorry...”
A few moment later, Asher came back with several bowls of popcorn. It was unclear how he microwaved all of them in that timeframe, but just the fact that he did it is all that matters. There were five bowls of different popcorn flavors, and one large bowl with popcorn that only had salt and olive oil on it. “Did you pick a movie yet, Sirius?” He asked as he strategically placed the bowls down on the table. - She stood up and grabbed his hand. “Let’s go find somewhere safe to sleep. My home was destroyed recently, so I won’t be able to drag you into my cave. Maybe there’s an abandoned apartment or something nearby?” Nimue tilted her head a little.
Nimue followed him and flicked her tail around. “I’m only a little upset. Most of the animals in the area died because of the slime leaking out, which is the only reason why I left.” She said, trying to continue a conversation with him.
Once Sirius made the decision, Asher sat down on the couch and took a handful of popcorn from one of the bowls. “I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I’ve heard that it’s good.” He said, happily. Luckily for them, the actors in horror movies were especially skilled and made the movies actually scary. - Nimue just stood there and looked at him for a moment. “Would you like me to lift you up?” She asked in a tone that showed she was clearly making fun of his height.
Asher started off watching the movie, but eventually his eyes trailed over to Sirius’s face. He stared closely at his friend, before turning back to the screen after realizing how creepy he probably looked. - She didn’t answer his question, instead she just laughed at his response. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t help it. You’re so cute and small, and it doesn’t help that you make ‘angwy’ faces.”
Without wanting to disrupt the movie, Asher reached behind the couch and pulled up a fluffy blanket. He sat up straighter and wrapped it around himself. - “Ugh, fine.” She pressed one of her feet against the side of the building and grabbed a wooden board. She pulled relatively hard, and eventually the wood snapped or pried off, giving them a clear way inside.
Asher giggled a little at Sirius and decided to scoot closer to him. He gently wrapped some of the blanket around his friend, but didn’t do it too much so he wouldn’t make things awkward. From that point, he finally sat still with his full attention on the screen. - Nimue jumped in after him, and looked around to get a better idea of her surroundings.
Asher carefully ate more popcorn to keep it from getting stuck in his teeth. He leaned over a little, interested in what was happening, but he didn’t seem too frightened. - Nimue picked up a rusted fork. “I thought this place would have been much filthier. Do you think there’s a bed anywhere?” She flukes her tail light around, unable to distinguish some objects due to the green light her tail produced.
“Huh.... That was surprisingly good, but the ending could have been better.” Asher critiqued. “The story went smoothly, but the scares were only ‘scary’ the first few times.” - “What do you mean it’s ‘eeeehh?’” She asked, putting her hands on her hips.
