skilled for my age.I approached the nearest tree I could find,using all my strength,I climbed to the top.I guess if I could climb the trees well,then the mountain shouldn't be a problem.The forest stretched for miles ahead,I could barely see any rivers at the edges.I could enjoy scenery like this for hours,perhaps even days,but I had to get going,for the mountains won't move themselves.I leaped down from the trees and felt the soft leaves crunch beneath my boots.I guess I forgot that it was autumn...Through all the fallen leaves and grass,I found a trail to walk on.As I traveled along the path,I saw a small bird pinned down by a fallen branch,struggling.I couldn't just leave it there to suffer and die!I approached the bird carefully and took a closer look.The bird panicked and flapped its free wing frantically.
"It's okay little birdie!I'm here to help."I coaxed the bird and took a look at its wing.I lifted up the branch and tossed it aside and picked up the bird"It's alright little

birdie.I'm here for you."I stroked the bird's feathers gently as it chirped.It looked too young to leave the nest,but there were none to be found in the area.Seeing no other bird's nests around,I decided to keep it close to me.I took another look at its wing and saw unusual markings on its wings.One looked like the letter 'x' and another the letter 'y'.I decided to name the bird,Intercept,for there's only so long I could call it little birdie.I slung my knapsack off my shoulder and pulled out a short alumanim rod and some gauze.I made a splint for its wing so it wouldn't suffer any longer."Feeling better?"Intercept chirped and gave me a playful peck."I guess that means yes!"Yuki was right about me with animals!I walked along the trail when suddenly,I heard a low,growling sound.Intercept warbled something like a warning in my ear.As I continued,the bushes rustled louder and louder.I froze."Is it a reploid or an animal?"I asked myself.The bushes stopped rustling and a large,brown bear

bear leaped out and roared.Intercept let out a shrill whistle and flapped over to a tree.I immediately ducked down and stayed still.The bear approached me and snorted.It pawed at me and rolled me over.After a few minutes,the bear gave up and ambled into the bushes.By the time I got up,my mouth was full of dirt.It was rather difficult to get the earthy taste out of my mouth...
"It's alright Intercept!The bear's gone!"I called out.Intercept peeked from the tree and flew back to me.The journey shall continue.However,night was about to fall.I was feeling as exhausted as heck and I wasn't sure when I was going to drop,so it seems like I was going to have to stop and set up camp.I found a small woodpile and started up a fire.I kneeled down and felt its warmth.I started to feel slightly drowsy.Before I got too tired,I decided I'd climb a tree,so I'd be less likely to get attacked while I'm asleep.As soon as I found a stable branch,I shifted a bit to get comfortable and started to drift into

sleep.Funny...Time seems to fly by so quickly.It only felt like yesterday I had started my training...and now,I'm putting my skills to the test...
