was still plausible. So I created #nmncomic to explain it. In the comic, Amara is a trouble maker and is often called "Miss Dreavus" by a frustrated teacher. While she knows quite a bit other ponies personal lives, she struggles with academic subjects. Thus, she is forced to attend tutoring so she can keep her grade and place at the school in Baltimare. She meets the other characters of the cast, tries to summon a spirit, and gets a tad possesed along the way. After the events of the comic she works for #missmagius and still gets magic lessons from her.

As far as character creation goes, I started from the version I made from the contest and tried to normalize the design as much as possible. You can see that the main differences are in the colors and hair. Basically, in the normal version, the colors are brighter (like wnat you would expect from a gen4 pony) and the hair stays in the one place.
Once corrupted, she is more or less overflowing with magic and her hair tends to float. Just a enough so it's noticible but so little that it can easily be explained away as "a light breeze moving the hair". In an attempt to remedy this, she has added another barrete in her hair forming a deadly x! (to go along with the ghost type)

The necklace is, of course, where are the ghostly magic resides and has changed colors.

Her cutie mark and name come from the same place, deadly nightshade.

Since the description of a misdreavus includes "feeding of fear" and "scaring people" I knew it should be something that is dangerous for horses irl. I cam across the deadly nightshade plant. Whike not only begin toxic, nightshade is a ghost type pokemon move so I thought it fit quite well. The name "amara" comes from another name for nightshade "amara dulcis".
The cm is a more stylized version of the nightshade flower so anyone could mistake it as a regular flower. Her talent is knowing and growing poisonius plants and their antidotes. Her parents thought the cm meant that she was going to be a florist or some type of healer that used herbs. What it actually means is that she's a jerk who will invade your personal life pretending to be your friend in order to blackmail you later. Even before she became corrupted, she thrived on tormenting ponies with the knowledge she knew.

The reason why her cm remains unchanged is that she is still (basically) the exact same pony as before.

She can also still pass for a normal pony. In their eyes they only thing that's changed is her make up choice and accessories.
Since she can still pass a normal pony, she will often run errands for her master #missmagius.
