Sketch continued on to finish her duty.
A couple miles away from the royal castle, she heard screaming and the roar of a beast. Tho weary from her journey and hungry, she ran to help.
She found a young girl in rich clothing being attacked by a Tigorus. A large tiger with poisonous spikes on it back. Sketch drew her sword and slayed the beast. But she got gouged by one of the spikes. The poison was fast acting and she fainted. The girl who she saved quickly ran for help.

It was two weeks later when Sketch woke up in a richly furneshed room. A nurse came in the room and fed her. Sketch's right arm had been badly wounded and she wasn't going to be able to use it for a long while.
The nurse explained the situation to her. Sketch had saved the crowned princess who had foolishly ran from her guards and got lost. After Sketch fainted she found her guards and braught then to her. The guards carried her back to the castle and told the king what happened.

The king demanded that she imediatly be put in the infirmary and cared for with the best doctors.

After the nurse finished feeding Sketch, she left to go tell the king of Sketch's recovery.

Sketch was given great honors and one request that was in the kings power to grant. He request was that the king would agree to form an alience with the Bolero kingdom and that she, Sketch would be able to become the princess's bodyguard, the become, the Maiden Burning. The king was confussed about such a young girl wanting to become a bodyguard, and what the Maiden Burning was.
Sketch told a story about how long long ago, their two kingdoms had formed a truce. To make sure that they honered it, each kingdom sent their best warrior to the other kingdom to become the heirs bodyguard. The Firelian was known as the Maiden or Sir Burning. The Bolero wanted to start that again.
The king agreed to this. He wanted to know why Sketch was Bolero's best warrior tho.

Sketch told the king that all her ancesters were the best warriors and that is a descendant of the first Sir Burning. She was already very tallented and was a natural for sword play. She had slayed the Tigoru after all. The king agreed that she would go through two years of intesive training and then she could become the Maiden Burning.

So one years later Sketch became the Maiden Burning. The youngest bodyguard there ever was, but also the best.

Nine years later (the present) Princess Ilona is getting married. Sketch has problems with the groom and the groom has problems with her.

And, one of the new guards has a crush on her and keeps trying to impress her. Sketch does not like him. Also something is going wrong with her fire and she is not able to weild it as well.
