Story:
He was once a world traveler that, after many years, decided to stay as a librarian in a small port town.
With his exceptional knowledge of the world and magic, he has guided the people there and helped to bring prosperity to their small town.
As for his appearance, it is the unfortunate result of a failed spell. Although, after decades of looking like this, he has grown used to it and no longer seeks a cure.
Jobs:
Other than his job as a librarian, he is a teacher of magic and history.
People often come to him from all over the world to seek his knowledge as he was the first to compile information on all plants, creatures, places, cultures, towns and laws into a series of books.

Personality:
He's mostly a calm and intellectual man who seeks nothing more than friendship and knowledge.
He is kind and understanding with others, but will often lose his temper with those who interrupt his work or don't listen to him.
He can be very patient with those who wish to learn from him, but only if they show a real interest.
During his travels he became used to defending himself against strangers and wild life, and so he is typically the first to take action when someone is in trouble.
Because of his helpful and kind nature, he has befriended many rich people, and thus has never experienced the life of a poor person.
While he doesn't live a life of luxury, it is obvious to anyone who enters his home that he is a wealthy man.
