In her darkest cloak, Cinnamin lurked around the shrubs of the unfinished nature walk, trying to keep from drawing attention to herself. Suddenly, she spotted a figure by the fountain, and noticed them drop something in the water. She hurried over, and stopped the stranger before she could leave.
"Excuse me, were you just eating that?" She asked, pointing into the fountain.
Without hesitation, Cinnamin rolled up her sleeve, and fished out the morcel, a strange eagerness in her eye. "Thank you! I've been looking for an offering for a ritual I'm trying to preform. This will do the trick!" A mischievous grin spread across her face at the soggy treat.
Cinnamin's expression suddenly became modest, defensive even. She raised an eyebrow, and smirked. "Even the 'cheapest' thing has great potential, you know." She turned away. "Why, this itself is more than I've seen in days. But I'm afraid I can't reveal what I'm to use it for."
Cinnamin remained silent, observing Aludra. Finally she folded her arms, and said, "The name's Cinnamin, to whom it may concern. And I wouldn't try something so lame! I've already seen fools try and fail at that!" She laughed lightly. "Anyway, if you reaaally want to know... I guess I could tell you..." She wagged her eyebrows, before perking up with bright eyes. "I'm trying to create a golem!" She whispered loudly, despite the lack of any other souls nearby.
Cinnamin giggled. "Well, what do people do with golems?" She looked around, giving it some thought. "I guess you could just say I'm bored. Say, do you have any idea where I might find some graveyard dirt?"
She hugged her pouch to her chest, and smiled innocently. "Oh, just think of it as another ingredient for the golem. You wouldn't mind showing me the way, would you?" She quickly dipped into her bag, and pulled out a few gold pieces. "I'll pay you."
Cinnamin nodded in appreciation. "Of course not! Wouldn't dream of it!" She giggled a little too lightly, stuffing the coins back in her pouch. "But I might have to thank you one way or another. Consider me in your debt." She said as she began walking, a light spring in her step.
Cinnamin laughed without looking at Aludra. "Cinni? That's a new one," She said, dodging the question. She was silent for a moment, as she walked. "I'm from... A small town. In the middle of nowhere. So sorry if I don't know much about gourmet meat dishes-- We didn't have a lot of cattle!" She gave a snarky grin.
"Well, I suppose I've never had anyone close enough to give me a nickname. One that isn't meant to provoke, anyway," She snickered at the thought, not bothered in the slightest. "What about you? Has anyone ever called you Ally? Or something of the sort?" She smirked.
She laughed. "Don't worry, there's no challenge in living sacrifices." She cleared her throat, as she became thoughtful. "Well, technically I just so happened to come here. But I was scoping out specific places with the materials I needed. I heard there was a moderate sized cemetery here."
Cinnamin's smile dissapeared, as she approached the rickety gates to the grave yard. "You don't have to worry about that. The only permission I actually need is from the guardian." Upon entering, she walked straight to a particular marker, passing a few others as she went. She kneeled down, pulling out the offering, along with a few other items; a few blocks of dried clay; several types of herbs; two purple candles and a coin. She looked up at Aludra and smiled. "Would you like to watch, Jaws? It can get scary!"
Returning to the headstone, an eager grin tugged at her lips. "It's simple, really. The church grim protects the souls of this yard. The first soul buried here is tasked with the job for eternity. He rests here." She bowed her head, and spoke a few words in a foreign tongue. Suddenly, the wicks on the candles kindled, causing her to gasp in excitement. "Looks like he's accepted my request." She giggled, and bagged a few handfuls of the gray dirt covering the grave.
Cinnamin raised a finger to her lips, gently shushing her. "Just wait, this is the good part!" A moment passed before a dark mist began to fill the area. It surrounded the pile of clay, thickening to the point of where it took the ghostly shape of a black wolf. Cinnamin stood up, and took a few steps back. "Alright, fair warning, it will try to attack us. But don't worry! That's the fun part!"
"That's the spirit!" She laughed, with a fistpump, as she drew her wand. The wolf smoke dispersed, and absorbed into the pile of clay. As soon as it did, the clay rumbled, and morphed. It grew until it was twice the size of a normal wolf. With glowing red eyes, and black mist emanating from it, it growled at the two, swiping with its gnarled claw. "Look out!" Cinnamin yelled with gusto, as she put up a magic shield.
((Ah, sorry, looks like there's been a change of plans and I'm being dragged off somewhere :') I'll be back in an hour or two if you're still on. If not, I guess we'll have to continue another time? ))
Cinnamin laughed, as she drop her shield, and started charging up a fire attack. "Easy, Jaws, they can't be defeated. We just have to tame it a little, to show it who's boss! Besides, they taste awful, trust me!" The golem lunged at her, snapping with his huge teeth. She barely had time to react, narrowly dodging, while holding her spell. "I'm gonna need you to distract it while I ready this blast!"
"Try not to mangle him too much," she said, her expression focused, "He'll be useful later." The grim creature attempted to avoid Aludra's attack, but his huge body made him slow. He roared in agony, but there was nothing gruesome about his wound. It was just a split chunk of clay, that quickly patched itself up. He retreated a few steps, his back hunched, growling at his adversary, watching her carefully..
The beast kept its gleaming eyes on her, not letting her get behind it. Finally, he got impatient, and charged. But just before he reached her, his tail swung forward like a scorpion stinger, jabbing toward her like a dagger.
The church grim answered with a roar sounding like a mix between a hiss and a bark. "Don't look at his eye!" Cinnamin yelled, responding to the sound, "He'll slow down your perception of time!" Surely enough, the creature's eyes gleamed with an intensity like molten rock, but otherwise, left himself open for attack.
Cinnamin was impressed by Aludra's sightless attack, especially when she landed a direct hit in the beasts head. It howled in pain, before slumping into a stunned state on the ground. Cinnamin knew it wouldn't stay that way for long. She quickly gathered the rest of the energy needed for her fire blast, and yelled, "Good work, Jaws! Now stand back!" She released the built up fire ball in the direction of the church grim, which exploded on impact, engulfing him in flames.
Cinnamin smiled innocently, and winked, as she lit up her wand with a gust of wind magic, that condensed into a blade-like weapon. "Thanks! Now he's all ours!" She charged in to attack the beast, who lay limp in a pile of clay, vaguely resembling a wolf. However, he still had the black mist surrounding him, swiping outward, like little tentacles.
Cinnamin slashed at them, like plants with a machete. "During the ritual, I granted him power to fight. This is part of that," She laughed. The clay rumbled again, and attempted to stand. It only had enough energy to lift a limb at a time. "Woah, boy!" She hollared, chopping its paw back down.
Cinnamin continued to beat down the chunks of clay as they rose. When she neared the head, he hissed at her, and she immediately shot a beam of light at it from her wand in response. "Alright, I'll hold it, you deliver the finishing blow!"
The golem let out a roaring groan, and almost immediately began to dissipate. The black tentacles returned to just being mist, and swirled around the melting pile of clay. In a moment, the golem had shrunk yo the size of a regular wolf, and its eyes were no longer hostile. Cinnamin put her wand away, and skipped over to her new creation. "There we go! Great teamwork, Jaws!" She said, patting the church grim's head, while simultaneously offering Aludra a high five.
Cinnamin flipped her hair, and beamed, her confidence boosted by the compliment. "Nothing! He gets to stay here. Or rather, he has to stay here. His soul can't leave this graveyard." She scratched the pooch under his chin.
She laughed. "Thanks, I like to think so. But yes, that's his job, but as a wispy spirit, he couldn't do much." She paused to cough. "Not that giving him a boost in strength is out of the goodness of my heart. I could care less about any individual graveyard. I just don't want those disgusting grave robbers and necromancers have their way. Isn't that right, boy? Yes it is!" She scratched him behind the ear, cooing affectionately.
Cinnamin shrugged. "I suppose you could say that. It normally is,more challenging when I'm by myself. But I wouldn't call it a hobby. More like a pastime." She stood up straight, and crossed her arms. "Though I've never thought about naming one. Knock yourself out if you want, Jaws."
She smiled, amused, and shrugged approvingly. "Well, it's fitting. Frome now on, the scoundrels of this town will think twice about trespassing these grounds by ill will, lest they face the wrath of Rex..." She chuckled to herself at the sound.
Cinnamin nodded, remembering they couldn't stay. "Right of course. You're gonna love it here, Rex puppy!" She said, cooing to him one last time. He gave her a blank, but innocent look. "Well, he knows the drill." She said with a shrug. "So, you ready to get that steak?"
"Amen to that!" Cinnamin laughed, not specifying what exactly she was agreeing with. Spinning on her heels, she strode along with Aludra out of the graveyard.
((So, Idk if you want to roleplay through them going to lunch,, or if we just end it here? ''<xD I've been trying to think up ideas, but it seems I'm out :'y))
