The Royals Curse

During the dawn of the Zeharu species, the Ancients were created first, Orion, Raven and Oblivion. Then a couple thousand years later, the first variant was created, the royals, Adam and Eve (cliche yessir :P)

Together these two were supposed to have an average Zeharu lifespan, back then it was 15,000 years, over time The Creator adjusted it to the 5,000 years it is now. The original royals were supposed to lead the rest, set an example for variants to come and they did that, for a little over 14,000 years.

When Eve realized they were going to die, she couldn't accept that, she didn't want to die yet, she wanted to remain in power and in control. It didn't take much to convince Adam to join in what she was about to do.

Together, the two took their children, all five of them, and slaughtered them, devouring their gold diamond hearts and main heart in their chests. By doing this, they were granted longer life, because the diamond hearts are embedded with a strong and powerful energy.

Over the course of the next 50 million years, they kept doing this, birthing royals and 'raising' them, until they hit adulthood and then they'd eat their young. Allowing them to become powerful and immortal, almost.

Orion, Oblivion and Raven joined together to beat Adam and Eve, but they couldn't kill them, with them having so much energy and power, they kept regenerating. It took a million years of war to beat them down and seal them away.

It was only because of The Creator, who put the curse on the two, that they managed to seal them away. Cursing every royal to have an extremely low, near impossible conception rate. But a royal would be born, eventually, one every 3,000 years, so there would only ever be two active royals at a time.

Many, many years later, Adam and Eve were unsealed and finally killed, by Roiyaru ( #KRoiyaru), with help of Raven, Orion and the Council.

Roiyaru was given a wish for breaking the Ancient curse, he used it to bring his Mother ( #BHEiro) back to life, she was killed by Eve in the fight. Every time a curse is broken, a wish is granted, only one.

The Unborn Curse
Status: Active

This is the second most common curse among Zeharu.

This curse activates when a Mother to be is abandoned by her mate to die, while she's in her human form and expecting. If she dies, her body will turn the color of charcoal, over the next week, her unborn will be born, in a sense, but not in a good way.

The baby will eat its way out of the Mother's dead body, but over the week, the baby deforms and grows at an exponential rate, the infant will consume every last bit of its Mother and when she's completely gone. The infant becomes a Death Variant Zeharu (What you see in the picture above, that's a half grown Death Variant).

These Zeharu are forbidden from living and especially from becoming adults. They're dangerous Zeharu, who live solely to kill and devour other Zeharu, they only need 3 months to become a full adult and in that time, they'll brutally and mercilessly attack anything that moves.

They have no conscious either, their sole function is to kill, the first one they go after is the one who left their mother to die. Everyone else is fair game. There's no reasoning or even communicating with them in the slightest.

Only an Ancient can kill a Death Variant, it's usually Raven's job to do so, but if it reaches Adulthood, all Ancients will have to join together to kill it.

It's currently unknown how to break this curse.

The Mixed Breed

The most harmless curse, really.

It's just an effect of two opposite variants breeding and producing that child.

The more breeds that cross, the weaker the offspring will be, if it gets too bad, 5 or more breeds crossing, the eggs won't survive being laid. The shells will never become hard enough to survive being squeezed out the birth canal, the Mother's muscles that push the egg out will end up crushing the egg.

For natural births (like we do/humans do), the more severe a mixed baby is, the less likely it'll survive birth as well, she'll most likely give birth to a stillborn.

They're labelled by generations, see below to understand (unless my mind breaks and it makes no sense, oh well! :D)
I'm gonna start with two pure blood variants.

Generation one: Two fire variants, pure blood, make a baby. It will be pure fire as well.

Generation two: A fire variant and air variant make a baby, baby is known as a half breed or mixed breed. Will inherit both parents main abilities, fire breathing and invisibility.

Generation three: The mix breed tries to mate with another mixed breed, usually will fail, since together, they'd make a 4 combination baby. Say if one parent was fire and air, the other was earth and darkness, the baby/babies would inherit all four abilities (air, fire, darkness and earth), but would be severely ill if born. Would likely only live 50 years (human).

Generations can become pure again (generation one), if a mix/half breed mates with a pure blood, the babies will be pure blood.

Earth and Darkness half breed, mixes with Earth = pure blooded Earth variants.

You get the idea, it's not a curse many care about and no one has really looked into breaking it.

The Blood Island
Status: Active

There's a single, large, island in Zyzaniah that has some sort of creature sealed away. There are blue, sharp stones that glow, they keep the island sealed away and for good reason.

The creature that lurks inside the island, is the one of Nightmares, few have actually seen this creature and lived to talk about it. Since Zeharu can pass through the barrier and explore the island...but once they enter the barrier, they won't be able to leave through it.

To leave, they'll have to avoid the invisible creature and enter its cave, going all the way to the bottom of the cave to escape through a special portal Raven set for any Zeharu who get stupid enough to go in there.

Most don't survive though, not without Raven saving them. Though Soul survived it, he only entered because he spotted a very young Mika stranded on the island and ended up saving his life. Soul thinks the creature devoured Mika's parents, but he's not sure, since Mika won't talk about it.

The island is called the blood island, because it's constantly secreting a red liquid from itself and it reeks of blood the closer one gets.
