i had the idea that absorbing a pokemon's soul can give you a big power boost
but at the same time, it has an affect that makes you want more power
and so it leads to trying to get more and more souls to get more and more powerful
also concerning your idea of necrozma as the villain, it works perfectly

i also had the idea that even is a soul is absorbed, the pokemon it was absorbed from is still alive, meaning the soul can be reclaimed within a limited amount of time
however, if a soul (in general) remains out of the pokemon's body for too long...
you can guess what happens

there's this place in town run by a chansey which is basically like a pokemon center
said chansey is pretty much a mother to riolu
so i say she should be the one who goes missing

i wanna say dew and riolu might already be friends, though they could be better
riolu hears about chansey going missing-shortly after, some of his other friends dare him to go into the forest and look for her, telling him there might be creepy monsters in there
he's about to head off when dew offers to help, having overheard the conversation
the two then head into the forest together
after a bit of wandering (and getting lost), they find chansey with her soal stolen
as they awkwardly try to bring her to town, they bump into darkrai, who's investigating what's going on under higher authority (being arceus or whoever-)

i say that maybe it starts off with like... idk, riolu waking up in the morning?? and just going around town, like it's a prologue
it would also build up the importance of chansey to riolu (and others in the town), as well as dew and riolu's other friends
then towards the end of the prologue we could have an ominous introduction of who the villain is (while still keeping what pokemon he is a secret and all)

like you said we still need a name for riolu-

but you've already helped me a lot otherwise, and i probably would be having a lotta troub:e without your input
it'd depend on how far we have the plot developed, like if it was even halfway i could maybe start drawing it

i'm eating cheezits in the kitchen

so uhm
immediately i wanna talk about the spoiler shtuffs-

ohno rip due to kirby

so again, it's much later on in the story, but here goes

after they arrive to this one place where there's a rather large gorge (on request of somebody, dew, darkrai, and riley are there to find that somebody's missing friend).
however, it's quite misty there, leading to them being ambushed by a zoroark, a gengar, and a tyranitar, just to name a few
this gets them separated-darkrai's stuck fighting gengar and tyranitar, while zoroark fights dew and riley
zoroark manages to knock dew into the gorge, causing riley to try and catch him-however, zoroark then knocks riley in
as they fall, riley makes it so dew lands on him, softening dew's fall, but dew gets knocked unconscious either way and riley injures his arm in the process
this leaves darkrai with zoroark, gengar, and tyranitar
(there's more, but imma wait for your reply so far)

r i p

after falling in the gorge, riley finds they can't climb out, so he carries dew and walks through the gorge
after a bit, they find themselves at a dead end-however, riley spots a cave nearby, so he heads in there with dew
[here comes the actual spoiler material eve']
after entering the cave, riley sets dew down and also sits, trying to rest and catch his breath
after brainstorming for ways to reunite with darkrai and get him and dew out of the gorge, he hears something-or someone-enter the cave
he quickly hides himself and dew, only to see it's darkrai, who is safe and sound
riley then rushes out to greet him
[pausing again for ya]

oh nice

[this part in the cave with darkrai entering wouldn't be visible to the reader until later on, as a flashback]
after riley explains what happened to him and dew, guard completely down...
darkrai then proceeds to use payback on riley, sending him flying across the cave
riley asks darkrai what's gotten into him
...and darkrai explains what's been going on.
darkrai originally had been in shimmering forest that day following orders of two pokemon-arceus, to investigate the forest for missing pokemon...
...and necrozma, to gather souls.
darkrai's the one who stole chansey's soul when she was unsuspecting, ambushing her
and darkrai's also been the one to cause a few more problems secretly at other points in the comic
[waiting for response from you now-]
[bUT YEH DARKRAI E V I L L L L L L]

after darkrai explains, he proceeds to start fighting riley
riley, being in an injured state, is unable to win, being brought close to fainting
...darkrai then proceeds to steal riley's stoul, while saying this:
"You're a kind Pokemon, Riley, and, admittedly... a good friend...
but you're getting in my way. Besides, you have no use to me, really."
and after stealing riley's soul, he absorbs it for himself on the spot, leaving riolu's soulless body there and exiting the cave
...if he'd known dew was there (dew was hidden, remember), he probably would've taken dew's soul, too

..that idea was actually a reason i started thinking of making the old idea in general a comic

bUT THERE'S M O R E

after dew wakes up a few hours later, he finds himself in the cave (with riley's empty body still there)
he freaks the heck out, trying to get riley to respond-after realizing what's happened to the full extent (hedoesn'tknowdarkraididitandneithersothereaders), he picks up riley and runs out of the cave, calling out for help and running through the gorge, trying to find a way out
eventually, some of riley's friends (one of them a tranquil) find dew in the gorge
they manage to head back to the closest town (via flight)
while trying to figure out what happened, darkrai comes back
however, he decides this would perhaps be a good oppurtunity to take out dew and steal more souls afterwards
so with that, he proceeds to still act like a friend, acting shocked as well
[>waits for reply before continuing]

don't worry rob, that's all i gotta say rn

eventually, the small group forms a plan to try and take riley's soul back from whoever stole it
they then head back to the gorge after healing up (thanks to chansey cUZ Y'KNOW, CHANSEY)
as they near the gorge, darkrai says he knows who did it-this causes confusion
he then explains what he did to riley, basically showing the reader what really happened at the cave at this point
and then proceeds to engage in combat with dew and riley's friends
slowly, one by one, all of riley's friends faint (except due), and darkrai steals their souls, too, powering himself up (though he's still a bit injured)

i got a bit of dialogue from him but imma wait for your reply first

he'd then proceed to attack dew, which does a lotta damage off the bat
dew's not gonna give up though, despite how absolutely terrified he is
he then proceeds to try and formulate a plan as he attempts to dodge darkrai's onslaught of attacks
[>waits for reply]

after a lot of fighting and risk taking, dew manages to make a rockslide happen, due to them being in the gorge
darkrai was already pretty injured, and getting trapped under the rockslide causes a world of pain for him
he manages to break free however, though is terribly injured-but then again, so is dew at this point, he's on his last legs
"...How? How have you survived this long... you... you should be dead by now."
"...No matter. You're still a world apart from me in strength... I should kill you right now... and e--"
he immediately freezes, pausing
".."
"What? Why-can't I move?"
darkrai can't see it, but dew can see darkrai's form is losing shape
[>waits]

oh that explains where ya went
o h n o i n d e e d

darkrai looked down at his hand, which seemed to be beginning to melt
dew can see darkrai's entire body starting to melt in various places
"I...I'm melting? Wh...at's happening to... me?"
^ the writing would be a little more distorted there in the comic
darkrai immediately began panicking as he continued losing form, finding himself unable to stay afloat anymore
dew is absolutely terrified as well-terrified and confused
darkrai would begin screaming un-intelligible words (mostly), not wanting to die yet
he advances towards dew, trying to swing his claws(????) at him, but misses entirely
..it's kinda hard to describe how he looks
what's happening here though is that basically darkrai's body (being weakened) can't take the energy of the souls he's absorbed, and is collapsing on itself
he soon is halfly a melted puddle on the floor of the gorge, no longer qlive-the souls leave him and return to their respectful bodies

that's it really

but uh, there ya go, that's how darkrai inevitably dies in the comic... .v.'

i took a quick check anyway
my most tanky pokemon (defense and special defensewise) is Trikephalo, my Hydreigon
however, hp-wise, it's my Emboar

of the pokemon i use most i mean-

i got trikephalo from the gts with that name >-> at first i didn't like it (i asked for one without a nickname), but now i've grown attached to it
i've been using emboar ever since i got it as a pignite off of wonder trade
i also have a meganium :P it's from the pokebank event thing i'm pretty sure, idk for certain though
i've had it since it was a chikorita though

ehh i personally like emboar
also fact: it's a japanese one, but it's got the english name
...my meganium's special defenses are kinda poor sadly. ;w;

i chose an infernape in pokemon platinum and delphox (first run) in x if that says anything-
