Garth wandered through the outskirts of the ruined city, eyeing the buildings with caution as he went. He happened to like this quiet place a lot more than the other places he'd visited... But there was also something unnerving about the deserted civilization... He sniffed around, wondering if anyone else was among the demolished buildings.

In the very center of the ruined city, Drake stared blankly at a large map, trying to pinpoint his location. "...This should be the right place..." He muttered.
"Well, even if we ARE in the right place, there's NOTHING HERE!" An impatient Frostbite shouted, her voice echoing around them.

Ooh, Nerissa's pretty, Galaxy

(I know I've used #DrakeIK quite a bit, I haven't used Frostbite in forever, and I've been wanting to tweak their personalities a bit... So that's why they're there. xP)

(Who even is Frostbite, Fluffy? She doesn't have a tag?)

(She's in the picture with Drake. She's his familiar. :>)

(...Also, if I remember right, I didn't have enough space in the description to make a tag for her. <xD)

Demetria slowly made her way through the deserted city, the almost complete lack of life was unfamiliar to her. Her stark white coloring made her stick out like a sore thumb in the gloomy surroundings, but she kept aimlessly walking, seemingly not concerned if she was alone or not.

(Hmm, I'm still not sure what I wanna do XP )

Having had been snoozing away in a pile of rather uncomfortable rubble, Venus yawned and opened her purple eyes, then stood and stretched her limbs out. Giving a quick shake of her fur, she jumped down from the pile with a graceful landing, fluttering her wings momentarily then tucked them in at her sides. She looked around, seeing the same things she saw every time she awoke from a nap, it wasn't much, but she liked it. She yawned again and started walking, looking for something to do for the day. And also food.

(Asking a friend to pick what character you'll use because you're too indecisive and you're still not 100% about it. (Me) x))

I'm dunno that I'll be much help with figuring things out, since I'm super indecisive myself, but I'd say if you're still deciding on whether or not to use "Nobody", you could use a different character until you decide?)

(But then I have to figure out who I want to use in the meantime X'D You guys don't have to wakt on me though!)

After getting a snout-full of dust, Garth decided he'd rather use his ears to tell whether anyone else was nearby. He heard several things while meandering around the lonely streets... Things like distant shouting... And echoing footsteps all around.
...Things that really just made him more nervous.
He picked up speed and was about to arrive at an intersection, but came to an abrupt stop as a huge white figure stepped out in front of him, nearly twice the size he was. "GAH, I WASN'T DOING ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS!" He suddenly shouted, not even thinking about what he said before he said it.

"I'm hungry." Frostbite said.
"You're always hungry." Drake replied.
"Yeaaaaaaah, but that doesn't do anything about it!" The little familiar said, hopping to her feet and wandering off, "I'm gonna go get some food!"
"Ok, you do that." Drake said, seeming too caught up in figuring out the map to care about much at the moment.

"Hellooooooo?" Frostbite called out as she wandered alone, "Is there any food out heeeeeeere?"

(...And I feel like I've had Garth say that before...

Anyone else get deja vu when RPing? I feel like my characters repeat stuff a lot. <xD)

(I had to eat dinner, but I'm back.
Fluffy, you are not alone. I'm constantly trying to remember what my characters say and how they say stuff so I don't make them repeate themselves. I fail a lot of the time though XD)

Demetria whipped around and leapt away from Garth to avoid him slamming into her, due to her size she easily landed on the other side of the intersection. Her surprised expression quickly turned to one of confusion and annoyance as she looked towards the smaller, green dragon. "You weren't doing...what?" She looked around for anyone else in the vicinity. "Why are you shouting?"

(I feel like that's a common occurrence when RPing Fluffy XD)

"Oh... Uh...!" Garth stammered, eyes wide as he finally realized what, or rather, who he was talking to, "I'm sorry! Y-you surprised me... Or... I mean..." He folded his ears back and lowered his head in an apologetic manner. "...I think I kind of surprised myself. I wasn't expecting to run into anyone..." He took one claw and drew little nervous circles in the dirt, seeming embarrassed that he'd let himself get so scared over random sounds he'd heard.

Demetria looked down at Garth as he nervously fiddled around in the dirt. Whatever demeanor she had been trying to hold fell away and she crouched down in front of the smaller dragon to seem less intimidating. "You seem to be startled by something, you wouldn't have been running and screaming otherwise...is everything okay?"

Venus was still aimlessly walking around, she had stopped multiple times though, mostly just to play with bugs that caught her attention. In the middle of chasing a beetle of some kind, her head popped up and her ears turned forward in alert when she heard a voice shouting a little ways away. Leaving the now beat up bug behind, Venus trotted toward the shouts, and eventually she found the source of them. She watched from a distance for a minute before continuing forward. "I'm not food, but hello!" She said to Frostbite, the creature she had been watching and listening to, sort of having to raise her voice due to her distance at that moment.

(Hmm, I could do that, Fluffy >:3

Garth managed to look up at Demetria, but still didn't quite make eye contact. "I... I just heard something... First it was somebody yelling... Then I heard footsteps... But they were everywhere..." He looked around again, "Like a bunch of things were following me..."

Frostbite turned over a rock with her claw, trying to will a sandwich into existence beneath it. "...Darn. I'm magic, but I can't make a sandwich!" Her ears perked up when she heard another voice calling to her, one she didn't recognize. The familiar looked to where it was coming from and spotted Venus quite a distance away, "Oh, hey! I thought it was just me out here!" She called back, starting to approach the stranger. "My name's Frostbite! Have you seen any sandwiches around here?"

"If I knew where sandwiches were, I would definitely tell you about them. And then have one myself, haha." Venus said as she got closer. Once standing just a couple feet away, she sat down. "I'm Venus, by the way." She gave a slightly lopsided smile, "What are you doing around these parts? Other than searching for a snack of course." She spoke in a friendly way, her tail twitching happily back and forth.

"Did you see them? The source of the footsteps and yelling?" Demetria lifted her gaze and looked down the streets, her eyes narrowed as if she was expecting an enemy to pop out at any moment.

Garth shook his head, "I didn't see any sign of them... It's kind of hard with all the weird looking rocks around here. Whatever it is could be hiding anywhere..." He muttered, swiveling his head and ears around to check for any other creatures around them.
...It just seemed eerily silent at that moment...

"Oh, my buddy and I came here together. He thinks there's some 'ancient artifact' here... Some kind of magical thingy-ma-whatsit. The kind of stuff that he likes.
I'd rather just find something tasty! Traveling makes you hungry, and Drake keeps all the food to himself! He says I'll just 'eat it all,' or something!" Frostbite rambled on, practically ranting, "...Anyways, enough about me... What are you doing around here, Venus?"

High above the ruined city, a dark purple dragon glides lazily on an air current he's bent to his will, although no one could know, seeing as he's currently invisible. His gleaming yellow eyes spot a small, singular dot down below, however, and he grins, quickly realizing what species of creature it is. Maldius lets himself plummet to the ground just in front of Drake, dispells his invisibility, and as he slams into the earth, he lets out the most terrifying, nightmare-fueling, PTSD-inducing roar mankind has ever heard.

"Perhaps it would be best if you got out of the city. It is quite...ominous here." Demetria sat up again her eyes were constantly flickering from Garth to her surroundings. "I don't believe there's anything here at the moment." However she still kept her voice low, just in case.

Drake, completely unaware of the fact that he'd been spotted by quite the villainous dark purple dragon, sat there, quietly pondering where his objective might lie in the abandoned wastes.

That is, until a sudden earth-shaking thud interrupted him as Maldius let out an absolutely horrifying, heart-stopping roar.
Drake's heart practically leaped out of his chest and ran away all on its own as he let out possibly the most loud, girly scream he'd ever heard himself make. Instinctively he threw his hands in front of himself and screamed an incomprehensible spell, conjuring a magic shield around him.

...Right as he finished the spell, he literally just passed out in his own personal magic hamster-ball.
At least... That's kind of what it looked like.

Garth's ears twitched as he heard Maldius' distant roar. "Y-yes, I like that idea... Forests are much better than this..." He stuttered, gingerly stepping in a circle to head out the way he had entered the city.
But right as he took his first step, there was some sort of skittering noise along with it.
Garth froze, his eyes widening. "W-what was that...?!" He muttered in a slight panic, trying to keep his voice low as Demetria had.

Demetria's ears shot up at the sound of the monstrous roar as well. She nodded and turned to follow him, her stance getting more tense by the second.
But when Garth froze she stopped as well and turned to him, her ears twitching at the faint sound. "I don't know..." She looked towards the ground in confusion then back up to the green dragon.

Maldius can't help but start laughing loudly at Drake's reaction, and sighs happily when he can finally catch his breath. "Ahh, I adore how feeble your kind is, human," the Tainted King remarks as he approaches the boy, regardless of whether or not Drake can even hear him, "If only BlackIce were here to have heard that scream..."

After circling around the magical shield once, the monstrous dragon sits down, curling his long tail around himself. //Perhaps this barrier will wear off, or, if he's still alive, he will wake up, and then I can really have some fun with him,// Maldius thinks.

Venus nodded, "A magical thingy you say, well that's interesting, hopefully your friend finds what he is looking for." The dragon cats ears shifted around, her attention easily changing to any noise that she picked up, but it always went back to her current conversation. "Keeping all the food away from you isn't very nice of him.." She pawed at her continuously twitching tail, pressing it to the ground, but it slipped out of her grasp and she quit messing with it, like it suddenly wasn't fun anymore. "Oh, I'm around here because I live here. Actually, not here but a little bit back that way." She nudged her head to the direction she had came from.

#PURPLE!

Garth had stopped moving at this point, but the sound had not. "Where is it... What is it?!..."
Following the direction the sound was emanating from, Garth's attention was brought to a wall of one of the more stable, standing buildings. Out of a gaping hole in the wall crawled some type of huge, flaming, wasp-like monster, seemingly unaffected by the flames around it. It was nearly the size of Garth, if not larger. Parting its mandibles, it let out an angry screech.
"...Oh..." The green dragon whimpered, the vines around his tail beginning to unfurl defensively.

(Random monster of the day happens to be FLAMING WASPS, I guess.

Griff, if you want to control another one, or make up your own monster to attack them, be my guest. :3)

Demetria whipped around to face the wasp-like beast, her teeth were bared in a ferocious snarl. She slowly moved so she was almost between Garth and the monster. The air around her body was slowly cooling and the faintest traces of frost could be seen on Demetria's plating.

(I might take you up on that, lets see how they stand through their obstacle first though >:) )

Drake's hamster-ball didn't seem to get weaker or wear off, but soon he began waking up. The dark-haired boy slowly got up and rubbed his eyes. His vision wasn't quite clear yet, and his shield definitely didn't help that, but he was almost certain what he was seeing was a giant purple blob.
"...What am I looking at right now...?" He muttered to himself, his voice echoing a little inside the magic bubble.

Then his vision cleared up and he immediately recognized the 'giant purple blob.' "...Ah, it's... You." He muttered awkwardly, "I had hoped you wouldn't be here when I woke up." He sighed, not necessarily in a frightened way, but more in an... Annoyed fashion.

"Ooh, that's cool!" Frostbite smiled, but seemed to falter a tiny bit. //Drake... Did he fall asleep or something? I wouldn't be surprised... He's been staring at that map all day. Well, it's good for him to get some rest.//
The little familiar bounced a little, "Hey! If you're looking for food, and I'm looking for food, we should join forces!
Two noses are better than one, right?"

The wasp-like monster leaped from the side of the building, and flew over Demetria and Garth, spewing flames from its mouth down on them.
Garth let out a yelp and swept his tail across the ground and upwards, sending dirt and dust at the fire. His efforts seemed to weaken the flames, but not by much.

Demetria pushed Garth out of the way of the flames after his attempt to falter them, taking the brunt of the damage. She looked up and growled at the wasp-like monster, ice had fully covered her plating, creating a thin layer of armor. Her claws had also become incased in ice, increasing their sharpness.
"Are you alright?" Demetria tilted her head to Garth, glancing over to see if he had been hurt.

(I'm gonna have to get going for the night pretty quick, but I'll stick around for one last reply.
I'd be glad to continue this sometime if any of you would like to. ^-^)

"Yes, /me,/" Maldius remarks, chuckling faintly and still grinning, which shows off the wickedly sharp teeth in his maw. "What, were you expecting me to leave, after how high your voice managed to rise? I wouldn't normally linger too long with an insect like you, but that was priceless," the dragon continues, his voice sounding dark and distorted, even without the magic bubble.

Venus noticed the falter on Frostbites smile but didn't say anything about it, soon the mysterious creature had changed the subject anyway and it didn't take much to get the cat on board. Her eyes 'kitten-ed out' and she nodded her head happily, "Oh yeah! That would probably definitely help with our search for food!" She jumped up on her feet obviously ready. "Let's do that."

Garth nodded and let out an, "Mmhmm!" indicating that he was fine, although he may have gotten a little toasted by the flames. "L-look out!" He called as the flaming beast flew down, latched itself to Demetria's plating, and was about to blast her backside with fire to burn away her icy armor.

"Well isn't that just /so/ kind of you to be concerned with something like that." Drake said, his words full of sarcasm. "So, what are you, some big, purple, schoolyard bully? I've dealt with worse..." He muttered, folding his arms.

Frostbite wagged her fluffy tail, much like a dog would, "Yay, let's go! ...My intuition says there's food... This way!" The familiar declared, marching off in some random direction that she most likely picked randomly. "...How long have you been here, anyways? And... What do you think would be the best places to find food?"

(Ok, I'm gonna head out for the night.
...If we're going to continue this, I honestly don't know whether I should just leave this up, or delete it and post another one later...?

...For now I'll just leave this up. I think I'm too tired to make any rational decisions tonight. xP
