Damien is the King of the Xanos Dragons, the one who came and overthrew Hiiro, the former King.
He despised Hiiro's soft ways, the way he'd treat female Xanos as equals, the way he made peace with other Kingdoms and earned respect. He hated Hiiro's more kinder nature in general, Damien believes one should rule with fear and he does just that now that he's King.
Not much is known how Damien beat Hiiro, he has no wings or breath attack, but he's solid muscle, a tank, in a sense. He can ram through a brick wall like it's paper and his teeth and claws aren't for decoration. Many suspect he didn't fight fairly, it's why Rosie and Hiiro are both sealed.

Damien only ever takes one mate at a time, but after only a couple months of them being his mate, they disappear, never being seen again. No one knows what he does with them...

He looks so awesome! I love the way his glowing blue eye stands out against his dark scales and the fiery background!
