If you use a Microsoft gamepad, you are only figuriatively better than the plauge.
Not that there's anything WRONG with supporting the WORST company by buying the WORST gamepad on the market. If everyone had a USB Gamecube controller, the world would be a better place. Communism for life (, but not really, NSA. Sheesh)!
