Heheheh, we will see. Come to think of it, this is the first real fight between a character and a draugr in this RP. Exciting! I wonder how Armin's going to fight it.

I think Crowley got in a fight with Dianne's draugrs once, but now I'm thinking about it, he might've been attacking Dianne more than them. XD

Can you tell me a little about the draugrs? What are their weaknesses, and how do you kill them? They're basically zombies, so I can't imagine they'd be easy to kill.

@Radiant Sure. At the time I'm typing this, I'm really tired. Don't worry though, the next post from me will be a full rundown of draugrs in general. I'll create it once I'm well rested.

Ok, one full draugr explanation coming right up.

@Radiant. For this RP, here's my definition of a draugr: A minion consisting of a captive soul who is magically bound to a dead body to create a sick, twisted imitation of life.
Traits: Because they consist of a spirit bound to a body, draugrs are able to do certain things that living people can't. For example, draugrs never tire, never sleep, don't need to eat, and transcend the language barrier. Basically, that just means that their master can give them orders in any language and they will comply.
Strengths: Because they're already dead, hitting their vital areas in combat will have little to no effect. This is how they're more durable than they were in life. Also, draugrs always attack at their full strength with no regard for whether or not their physical forms get hurt. This is why draugrs are "stronger" than the original host was in life. Finally, when given an order, a draugr will stop at nothing to carry that order out. In short, draugrs are among the most loyal and dedicated minions a sorcerer can have.

Weaknesses: Being a construct of Dark Magic and Necromancy, all draugrs are immensely weak to light magic. However, because light magic is rare, there is a principle of draugrs that one could use to gain the upper hand when fighting one. The strength of a draugr is directly proportional to its biomass. Put simply, the more mass a draugr loses, the harder it is for the magic binding the soul to the body to keep the construct together. If a draugr loses too much mass, it won't be able to hold itself together and will proceed to turn to ash. At this point, the soul returns to its master for reuse.
That's pretty much the long and short of it. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! Hmm, it seems like a fighter who can use Light magic would be pretty useful for defeating large numbers of draugrs at once. I'll have to think about that for the future.

Either way, it's nice to have their strengths and weaknesses laid out. Now I can plan how Armin's going to fight them. Of course, he doesn't actually know all of this yet. XD

@Radiant. Oh no.....XD. This is going to be unnecessarily difficult, as good Brink's deal is still in motion, so Jerry can't hurt anyone, even to save Ivy.

(Aggron) Oh, don't worry about her. She might not need rescuing, at least not by Jerry. I have some ideas for her, but I'm not sure which one I'll use yet.

If the worst happens, Armin could always go out by himself and save her. XD

This is one of the reasons I really need to draw a map of Vallis. XD

They're buried where they used to live, in a small town to the west of Shacklestone. It's also the direction Sheldon and Tochi headed in when they fled the city.

Go ahead and send as many minions as you want, if you decide that's how Sargon's going to handle it. There are a million ways to do this interaction, so go ahead and handle this as you see fit. : )

Can't wait to see what happens with Pythia. We haven't seen too much of her yet. And I dunno if Sargon will actually send a barrage of minions after her, he might decide to handle it differently.
All I know is that he won't be happy she ruined his corpse supply. XD

He'll probably consider her a huge weakling because she won't fight anyone. XD He appreciates power, though that doesn't always necessarily mean he'll respect people who are stronger than him.

I guess Ana could be considered intelligent? Everything she does is dictated by her loyalty and feelings towards Sargon. She can barely make decisions for herself, which isn't particularly smart.

I suppose it'd be possible, if someone knew about her feelings and was clever enough to do it. XD

@King, I need to ask you: when The Illusionist makes his deal with DB, will DB give him powers, or do only certain people get powers?

@Radiant, when Sargon eventually comes for Pythia, if he does so while she's tending to Crowley, would Crowley try to fight off Sargon's goons, or would he not care, even if she hasn't finished?

(Aggron) He wouldn't care about protecting Pythia, even if she hasn't finished healing him yet. But he'd fight them anyway - he doesn't pass up the opportunity to fight. XD Just don't expect him to stop the minions from going after Pythia as well.

DB would most likely give him powers once his part of the deal was completed, but if he needed some assistance getting it done then DB will give him a lesser version of the power then restore it to it's full potential once completed. Think of it like Keenan gaining some night vision in his one eye to be able to carry out his side of the bargain (e.g. shanking someone in a dark alleyway), then he gets the whole package once he's done it.

@Radiant Yup, that's about what I'd expect from the crazy birdo. XD

@King Okie dokie. Thanks. Question 2: @Radiant, The Illusionist is human, but when he completes DB's task, he might gain some magical abilities. Will this violate the rule you made about keeping the number of human and nonhuman characters balanced?

(Aggron) Well... he'd basically become like Mortikai, who is technically human but is considered non-human because of his abilities and extended lifespan. So yeah, if the Illusionist gained powers from Brink he would no longer be classified as a 'human' character.

So, yeah, I guess it depends on what sort of abilities he's going to get.

@Radiant Well, you're the host. How do you want to handle this?

If possible, I'l like to know what kinds of abilities he might have. If @KIng can give me a general idea, then I'll decide whether it should be allowed or not.
To be honest I really wanna cut back on non-humans/humans with magical powers, there are so few normal humans in this RP. XD

@Radiant Face it. Normal humans are boring. Who would choose to be something they are every day when they could be something extraordinary? XD

It's not like they can choose what they're born as, though. XD
And most humans are too scared of non-humans to become like them.

Well, I'll give a few examples from characters both in and outside of Shacklestone.
Mortikai was gifted the power of shapeshift into feline forms, each of which he gains by allowing Dark Brink to use his physical body while he's off doing god knows what.
Keenan was gifted the power of full nightvision in one eye, as he can already shapeshift and has some control over electricity.
Mia (the technomancer) was gifted the minor powers of water and electricity manipulation, as she already has full powers of metal manipulation and uses the minor powers to fuel her creations.
Oscar, on top of his non-human aspects, was given draconic limbs (such as wings) then later the power to either shapeshift entirely into a dragon or various limbs at will.
Shadowsneak was given the power to "walk with shadows" (shadow manipulation), hence the name.
Paranorm, while being controlled by Dark Brink to eliminate his own apprentice, had minor control of ice/snow and much greater strength.
Basically, the powers one gets depends on the power they already have. If they have none, it can be a great power, but if they do have some, then it can be a lesser power. Though it can be the other way around too, though it's much more rare.

Ooh, this is getting interesting. So those who don't already have any powers of their own get stronger powers from Brink in return for carrying out tasks for him? Out of curiosity, is there a limit to how much power he can give someone, or any abilities he can't give them?

Immortality (like Mortikai's) is reserved for those who Dark Brink holds closest. However, if their bodies get too damaged, then they will die. Though Dark Brink is able to revive his subjects (Shadowsneak, Dispair, and Mortikai), there's only so many times they can die before they're gone for good. Think of it like the leaders from Warrior Cats, they only have nine lives/nine times to meet with death until they die.
One power I know he can't give is the power to fully revive the dead, so they're not like zombies or skeletons, they fully become living and breathing again.
Another couple would be total control over an element, as in being able to summon and use any amount with no side effects.
There is a limit, though I'm not sure how many. To shapeshifting, around five or six forms (purely because Morty can shift into like four different cats) including their original form. To other powers, around two major powers and two lesser powers.
Most of this is just going off the top of my head and a couple of notes I have, so some details might change ;w;

OK, thanks for writing out all the information. X) We'll just have to wait and see what happens with Brink and the Illusionist, but both of you please remember that I'm trying hard to keep things balanced, and we already have tons of non-human characters.

To be really honest, this whole thing with the Illusionist is kinda against the rules because I mentioned how many magical characters we're allowed to have each. I was told he was going to be a human character. :/

Sorry about that salty last comment. I was in a bad mood when I wrote that (not 'cause of you guys, it was something else). I don't mind if the Illusionist gains very minor powers, like shapeshifting or something. But it's also be nice for him to stay completely human. It's up to you. X)

That sounds fine to me. We don't want him going psycho on humans because he mistook them for magic users. XD

@King I wanna try somethin'. Y'know our RP? What if instead of just waiting for times when we're both free for hours at a time to continue it, we continue it incrementally in between sessions? Basically, how about during the week, we just post replies whenever we have time and inch it along. Technically speaking, we actually both don't need to be present for one of us to reply. We would, of course, still get together and continue the RP together in the more traditional fashion, when we have time, such as on the weekends, but I'd also like to try this incremental method as well. What do you think?

(Aggron) If you want to, we can use that method to also continue our RP. The one with Anastasia and Ardens, if you remember that. XD I rarely have time to stop by and RP for long sessions, but if we just posted a reply whenever we're online, we could continue it.

And along with the three that I've already said about (the psychic twins Lila and Nate, and Ryker the werewolf lad that stabbed himself while trying to stab Morty)
There's one space left and there's a perfect replacement for Mia waiting in the prison to be turned for Sargon's army
And he would be perfect for his hatred towards two humans in particular...

My plan is to keel over for the first week and then cry about my Art GCSE coursework because I need to finish it by the end of the Christmas holidays because we're starting our actual GCSE project when we get back
Buuuuut since the project I'm doing at the moment is linked in with my whole Two Brinks and the White Stag story thing so I just need to organise that and print stuff out while I'm still at school because our printer doesn't work :')

I've been kinda busy, but not with anything related to school. I've got an art commission plus like 3-4 other art pieces I want to do before the end of the month and it's taking forever mostly because my eyes have been playing up for the last four months and I don't know what's wrong with them.

But other than that everything's good. XD

For me, I'm just going to relax for my winter break, enjoy christmas with my family, work on Ascension and cool concepts that I've been wanting to work on, but have been too busy with school to, and play the newest pokemon game. Yay.

- Ana stalking Sargon
- Ana fantasising about Sargon while Armin stood in the background saying 'you're weird'
- Armin driving a car while wearing sunglasses
- Armin about to cut his own head off with his sword
- Mortikai as a sort of weird midget thing with a poker face expression
- Tochi and Sheldon on drugs
- Ana spying on Sargon in the bath
- and Crowley being drunk

It was awful. XD
