What are those? by RoxxPardus

Can anyone tell me what those tufts of fur are called and what real animals have them, if any?

I tried googling "foot tufts" and "paw tufts" but all that came up was cat toe fur. Which is cute, but not helpful to the research I was trying to do.

#fur #tuft #tufts #help #paw #paws #fluff

I'm trying to learn what evolutionary advantage they would have.

not sure what its' called, but you might be able to find more info if you search for it on horses rather than cats

It's called feathering on horses at least; the vanner breed of horse comes to mind for an extreme example. Other than that, some breeds of dogs, cats, and some birds (specifically thinking of some chicken breeds atm) come to mind!
