Bed time story by Barrocco

This story, forgot the name, has a boy being carried out of his bed by either aurora borealis or the northen winds (there is at least two versions as far as I know).
It shows him lots of wonderful things. At the end we learn the boy is dead, he died while asleep. It is a story to teach kids of death. Norwegians dont usually hide truths from kids.
It was a sad story.
Usually aurora or the wind is illustrated as a woman flying in the air, the boy on her back.

I used to wonder when the wind/aurora told the boy about how sad that he would die so young, that she wanted him to see more before he had to go. Did she do it for every child? Could she do it for every kid that died?
Wasn't actually gonna make an art of this story, but it kept nudging my mind. I though it could show a bit of my countries mentality and culture somewhat. Because of that, it probably looks really sloppy.

That's such an interesting and emotional story! Sometimes I wish the fairy tales that I grew up on were more real to reality. It's sad to hear when you're a kid, but you find valuable truths in them.
This painting is pretty btw!

Re: Thank you so much! It was a challenge not to let go of the Disney style but also to put my own touch to it. I'm glad it turned out okay. x)
