Postmodernism is a (dead) artistic movement that basically holds that because nothing is real/exists, surreal things can happen/be depicted with some degree of realism. Saying "quitting realistic art doesn't matter if you have a postmodernist view on life" is what we in the business call "an ironic joke," a term which here means "something absurd that is said with the intent to amuse."
