A spider will not bother you unless you do something to it.
Please, all of you, try to avoid killing them, they really aren't the little satans that they're made out to be by most people. They aren't hostile.
You may be terrified of them, but you know something? They're terrified of you, too. That's why they frantically run from you when disturbed.
I've messed with spiders almost my whole life (I turn 2O in a few days) and I've NEVER been bitten by one. Not ever. And believe me, I've handled thousands over these past...I don't know, I5 years? (I don't quite know how old I was when I started screwing with spiders.)
The key is to never pinch a spider in any way. Doing that makes them think that a predator has them, and that's when they'll bite.
