Their sperm is infused with magic, making it, in a way, extremely strong and aggressive. It can live roughly eight days inside a woman, when cervical fluid is present. What makes it hard to reproduce, is once the sperm makes its way into the egg, the egg dies. The intense magic forces the egg to explode, and the woman's body registers it as a failed attempt.

They're basically Super Woman in reproduction. Able to reproduce with any humanoid, their offspring is usually strong and healthy.

The only reason why a human's child is often weak and crippled is similar to the reasoning behind why male GVs cannot reproduce easily.

The GVs egg is infused with magic, though it is much less magic than the sperm, it is still strong. On top of human sperm having a difficult time fertilizing the egg, the woman's body forces the child to grow at an unreasonable rate. Instead of waiting 9 months, the child is born at 6 months.

They are fully developed, only smaller and with less muscle mass. This gives the child lots of problems later in life, but usually is fixable with therapy and exercise.
