Is the "online function" you used the Shared Painting feature? If so, I think you need to be nearby another person in order to have them join.

About roleplaying, it's very true that it can consume your time. I was addicted to it for a while, but now I'm trying to not let it take control of everything I do. I could still be improving on that. '^^
You've got the basic gist of DTAs! It is a competition to own the design. What people do is draw my design in their own way, and then I will look at each drawing and choose my favorite. That person keeps the design and does whatever they want with it.
