More magical kids stuff. I'm going to be posting about this for a while since I want to get the concept out there, so if you aren't interested, feel free to ignore all this.
Catalysts! I mentioned them yesterday but now you get a full blown explanation. Catalysts are creatures that survive off of energy that lingers after defeating a Reanimated. Because they can't fight on their own, they give abilities to magical kids to defeat Reanimated for them. (Win-win situation. No Kyubey shenanigans) So Catalysts decide to follow different lifestyles to meet potential magical kids.
Some seek out kids to create links with (like Kae, the one on the left)
Some treat it like job applications and approve/deny kids based on their "worth." (Like the one in the center, Lima) If you get approval from a catalyst like that the word gets out fast and you start out famous. It's pretty sweet.
Then there's some that wander around and wait for kids to find them by chance. (Like Chii, the one on the right.)
