Aitazatl Homeworld-
The Aitazatl originate on a Saturn-sized planet named Osciri in a system with three other planets capable of sustaining life. On Osciri they share the land with humans, both races building civilizations and coinciding with one another. While humans outnumber the Aitazatl at least 10 to 1, the Aitazatl are known to be the stronger and more advanced species.
Before the War-
Before the war, the Aitazatl and humans lived in peace with one another. The humans actually viewed the Aitazatl as gods at first, worshipping and showing them the utmost respect. In return Aitazatl introduced humans to magic and their advanced technology, fascinated by the humans’ potential. Together they both proved to be very reliable allies.
During this time, humans still lived under monarchies that were chosen by the Aitazatl that lived in the region, these governments were relatively stable and harbored to most of the human race’s needs. The Aitazatl on the other hand had no existing leader or government they followed, each dragon was independent, this all changed after the war.
As time progressed, some humans began to grow weary of the Aitazatl, believing that they’d bring more harm than good to humans. Conflicts arose, protests began until one day a certain group brought it to far and killed an Aitazatl. This would later be seen as the catalyst of the Great War.

The Great War-
Negotiations were attempted at first, but the Aitazatl were furious, they felt that their trust had been betrayed. While some of the population listened to the humans the rage was contagious. The tension continued for five years until a dragon rose from the Aitazatl race and prompted them to declare war.
The war was brutal and lasted far longer than either side had ever anticipated. For one thousand years humans and the Aitazatl fought each other. The war showed the humans the true power and terror that the Aitazatl could deal. The humans also proved to be formable opponents, using the magic and technology they had received against the dragons.
About six hundred years into the war the Aitazatl learned how to manipulate their forms, this ability was immediately utilized for combat. Aitazatl had learned how to change their appearance into a more humanoid form. With this new skill the Aitazatl were able to infiltrate guarded cities and access technology they had never bothered to use before. This was the turning point in the war that lead to the Aitazatl’s victory.
Post-War Society-
After the war the Aitazatl realized that their race was weaker without any forms of leadership, so they appointed a young war hero to be the first leader of their new empire. She helped construct the high council, a group of dragons to represent each variant of the species and carry out the orders of the new government. From there the empire was built.
The Aitazatl quickly took over Osciri, they striped the humans of whatever power they still had so that the humans had practically become slaves to them. The new Empress wanted to insure that her kind would never be threatened again.
In this new time of ‘peace’ the Aitazatl kept their new shapeshifting ability, they had learned that they had better access to technology in these smaller forms and that they could keep a closer eye on the human population by living amongst them.
Many centuries passed before the Empress made a decision that would change the empire. The two Celestial Guardians had returned from their journey and confirmed that the neighboring planets could sustain life. It wasn’t long before the Empress sent forces to colonize the three planets.
Conquest-
The three neighboring planets were only the beginning of the Empire’s expansion. Due to the other planets not containing intelligent life it wasn’t long before the Aitazatl conquered them. The need for more advanced technology grew as faster transport was necessary to reach the new colonies. The Celestial Guardians assisted by introducing teleportation and how to apply it to transportation, this made travel between the four planets easy.
With the new colonies the Aitazatl population grew exponentially and the Empire’s ambitions for new territory grew with it. With the increased numbers the Empress was able to finally set her sights on planets outside the solar system.
While it took a few years for the Aitazatl to develop technology that could handle traveling millions of miles through space once it was accomplished the Empire’s ruthless conquest began.
Conquered Territories-
Through the next few thousand years the Aitazatl Empire was able to claim five more planets. The Aitazatl would first send scouts to new planets to survey them and decide whether or not they were worth colonizing. If the planet was eligible they would then send in more forces, depending on what kind of life lived on the planet. So far only two out of the five conquered planets showed any true signs of resistance, even then the fighting didn’t last long. With the Aitazatl Empire's superior strength and technology they were practically an unstoppable force.
On the actual colonies the planets were run in a very similar fashion to Osciri, the Empress would appoint a trusted noble to become the leader that colony and that noble was in charge of forming a council for that planet. While the chosen noble still had to answer to the Empress and High Council

Aging-
Aitazatl have a life span of up to 10,000 years, however most of the species rarely get past 9,000. Over the course of their lives their blood changes colors and they gain more mastery of their powers.
1-100: Aitazatl are learning how to control their powers and their blood is a reddish hue. Feathers/fur are in the process of growing.
101-200: Aitazatl finish physically growing and have a basic grasp of their powers and their blood begins turning from red to bronze in color. Their feathers and fur have fully grown in.
200-2500: Aitazatl master their powers and their blood is fully bronze in color.
2501-2600: Blood begins turning from bronze to gold.
2601-6000: Blood remains gold but slower gets lighter in hue as the dragon grows older.
6001-6100: Blood turns from gold to silver.
6101-8000: Aitazatl are at their strongest magically but slowly their physical strength will begin to deteriorate.
8001-10000: If Aitazatl manage to live this long they are exceptionally powerful magic wise but the closer to 10,000 they get the harder it becomes to move until they are incapable of flying or moving without assistance.
Trisena-
Trisena refers to when Aitazatl open their third eye and the extra power that comes from it. The third eye is what grants Aitazatl their unique abilities, however one cannot keep their eye open for too long without the risk of dying from exhaustion so they must be very careful with how they use their power. As Aitazatl grow older they learn how to master their abilities and how to best use their Trisena to their advantage.
Emperor Mutation-
This is a rare genetic disease that only occurs through the ‘mixed breeding’ between different variants. The mutation enables the dragons afflicted with it exponentially stronger magical abilities and nonstop growth, however in return they a very mentally weak. So much so that by the time the hatchling would go through their first Trisena the overflow of power drives them insane. Aitazatl who have the mutation are not known for living long, either from killing themselves or being killed by others.
Guaridans-
The title ‘Guardians’ refers to the few immortals that watch over the Aitazatl race. While only two are commonly known, it is rumored that many more lie dormant all throughout Osciri.
The Celestial Guardians, Juno and Themis are the only two guardians confirmed to exist.

OH YEAH!! There's something I keep forgetting to ask you! Would it be possible for the Aitazatl you're making for me to have his head feathers come around his neck and throat, kinda like a lion's mane? I'm asking more or less because it would be fitting for his name, but I figure you might have it almost done by now...? If you did get as much done as you said you might 'XP
