The day was pleasant. The temperature was enjoyable and there was a steady breeze. It would be a great day for a picnic. But, sadly the day not as enjoyable as it could have been. For Lumen was just arriving at Castle Citrine after the events of the meeting with the Erulean king Lumious.

"I....I have failed.....I could not keep my promise....I have never broken a promise....."

Lumen walked up the finely laid brick road to Castle Citrine.
His clothes tattered and stained from the gruesome battle in Erul. And his arms were black and blue from the jarring strikes of the soldiers he slayed. It was actually hard for him to move them they were so damaged. In the battle, when defending Serah. He had overexerted himself in combat.

"I am covered in blood....I can not have Prima see me like this.....It would not only be traumatizing....But also inappropriate. I must try to sneak in and hop in the shower....."

Unbeknownst to Lumen, Prima had received word that he was on his way back. And that he was not in the best of shape.

Prima, who had been waiting at the castle during the events, was relaxing herself in lumen's room waiting for him to return, she had already planned out how she would greet him & was excited to see him again.

Lumen opened the front door of the castle as quietly as he could. But even with the great care he took in doing so, it creaked because of the shear majesty of the double doors.
Looking back and forth before stepping all the way through the door, he was relieved to find that Prima was nowhere to be found or heard.

"She must be shopping....I did leave a bit of spree money behind.....But she might be in her room reading or sleeping...So it would be best to continue stealthily...." He thought as he ghosted his way down the hallway leading to his room. Gently grabbing the brass handle to his room, he opened the door.

Prima looked up as as soon as she heard the door open, what was about to be a happy greeting quickly turned to worry & horror. "L...Lumen?" she said shocked expression on her face. "W-what in the world..." She walked towards him. "What... happened..." She sounded nearly afraid to ask.

(MC HAMMAH IN DA HOUSE!! >:D)

Lumen had walked in, wearing the ' ' Goddess's voice' ' Neckalce around his neck. Assured that he had not woken the presumed sleeping Prima in the room nearby. But when he entered, Prima was waiting for him. His heart sunk. He had hoped he could enter the house and clean up and change without alerting anyone. But those hopes were dashed.

"P-prima.....I am sorry you had to see me this way.......B-but please do not be alarmed.....Y-you see....."

Lumen bowed his head in defeat. His face was that of someone grieving.

"You know when I said that I had suspicions about the meeting in Erul?....."

(Yup! MC is in da house! ^0^)

"Y-yes..." Prima stayed quiet for the most part and listened. She wasn't sure she could even find words to say right now.

Lumen had barely moved his arms the entire time. They hung at his waist instead of being in his sleeves behind his back.

"And how I said I was probably worrying to much?..."

"Y-yeah..." She went quiet for a bit before saying. "M-maybe you shoukd sit down?" Noticing his slightly weekend state.

("Slightly" wasn't actually supposed to be there. :'u)

Lumen nodded slowly in appreciation to Prima's suggestion.
He walked over to a small stool and sat upon it.

"Thank you...."

Lumen sighed audibly in pure exhaustion. His arms ached so much during the trip back to Citrine, that he could not sleep properly.

"I was right.....The entire thing was a trap....And I lost a good friend I met there....At the hands of the King himself...."

Lumen lowered his gaze and looked to the floor before speaking again.

"Lord Akara and the ruler of Vepura Claudiesa are preparing the burial ceremony......She is to be buried here in Citrine...."

(I know the feeling xD I just noticed my typo on the word Necklace ;-;)

"I'm... i'm so sorry lumen, i should have been there, i...i..." Prima silenced herself. "We... there is nothing that can be done for the dead once they are gone, regret will only acomplish nothing, whats important is protecting those that stand before us now." Prima began unbuttoning his shirt. "She didn't die for nothing, her death should be all the more reason to make sure it never happens again, i hope i don't sound insensitive."

Lumen nodded to her.

"Thank you Prima....No need to say sorry...It was not your fault....I am glad you were not there.....It was not only traumatizing but also exhausting.....Even if you were there....We would have been outnumbered..."

Lumen adjusted in his seat, trying to get in a more comfortable position.

"True...Regret does nothing conducive....But it is sadly, part of the grieving process......And what makes it worse is that I promised to see her through the day and keep her safe....But I could not keep it....She was unnarmed....The king is a monster to go atta-"

Lumen went to move his arms up to keep Prima from unbuttoning the top of his robe. But his arms were so sore that the movement was delayed and with hardly any energy in it. So his arms only made it half way up.

"P-Prima...y-you do not have to assist....A-As it were...You might get the blood of the enemy on you......I am not verly cleanly at the moment...."

"Oh relax you, i'm not going to do anything to you when your like this. besides, you can barely move your arms, leaving you alone like this would just be cruel." She pulled his robe down, seeing the bandaged injuries on his body before getting up. "I'll get your bath ready, then i'll help you get you get undressed." Walking towards the bathroom as she talked.

Lumen was still embarrassed nonetheless. Thankful but embarrassed. His body was virtually untouched, but his arms were bandaged from the wrist up to the shoulder. His legs had a few cuts and his feet were bruised from walking on uneven terrain. (The bodies of the men he slayed)

"O-okay....Y-yes....forgive me.....Th-thank you......"

Lumen flinched a bit as his robes came off. He crossed his legs and sat blushing on the stool.

"B-bath.......A bath sounds nice....UNDRESSED!?.....n-no P-prima...I am more than capable of at least getting my small clothes off....My arms do work.....A bit...."

"I would hate to impose on you to do so...."

"Lumen?" she looked outside the bathroom after turning on the water. "You did all you could, if anything, i'm glad your safe & sound"

"And it isn't a problem really, i have seen men naked before so it won't be one for me at least.
it won't be that embarrasing for you, plus i'll need to be here to change your badages"

Lumen lifted his head up when his name was called. He looked in the direction of the bathroom where Prima's voice echoed from.

"I killed so many out of rage.....It proves I have yet to change my inner self....Deep down inside....I am still that youth in the trial....."

Lumen sighed as he stretched his back to loosen a tense muscle.

"I am glad I am back as well.....I have so much more to live for..."

Lumen's eyes went wide open at the mention of naked men.

"P-please tell me that was only a-artistic sculptures or works of art......"

Lumen adjusted in his seat uncomfortably. He could hear the bath running and the sound of it did soothe him. He was extremely fatigued and the thought of relaxing in the bath made him a bit anxious to hop in. But the thought of her seeing him naked did make him a bit apprehensive of the entire situation.

(And man was he such badarss while doing it :y)

"Dear goddes it was nothing of that sort, i still very much have my v-" Prima stopped short realizing what she was about to say, feeling embarrased.

"A-ah i mean... when i was younger i traveled a lot, i worked at a bath house for a little bit to make some extra money... I-if you like i could wait outside while you clean yourself?"

Lumen was relieved to hear her seeing of the naked men was strictly occupational.

"I see. Occupational nudity is not the same as others....."

Sitting up from his stool he went to his drawer and retrieved a small bottle of a Orange-ish yellow liquid, then started toward the bathroom. The contents of the bottle was thick like syrup.

"Well, once I am in the bath and the bubbles have surfaced, I would not mind chatting a bit. I normally just think to myself, but I believe solitude would only make me feel worse. So you could pull up a padded stool and chat with me while I relax a bit in the bath.
Lumen took off the ' ' Goddess's voice' ' Necklace and placed it inside of a small locked container on a table near the bathroom entrance.

"Yes, i'd be glad to chat with you. if you don't mind me asking, what of akara and the others that went along? were they hurt badly to?" She waited outside the door for him to say she could come in, noticing the necklace she didn't remember him leaving the castle with.

Lumen slowly remove his small clothes while within the confines of the bathroom. With a ' 'POP!' ' he uncorked the bottle of liquid and poured a liberal amount into the basin of warm, nourishing water. The strain of opening the bottle did hurt his arms, but he knew the water would help.

"That is a relief. I need some stimulating conversation...."

Lumen stepped into the bath, gently sitting down into the relaxing water. He used his foot to stir up the bubbles from the soap he put into the bath. It was now a thick foam floating on the surface. It smelled of Oranges and Lemons.

"Akara is not only paying the skipper who manned our escape vessel, but also speaking with the Prince of Iclios, Kou. And the Leader of Vepura, Claudiesa on what should be done about the declaration of war from Erul....And about the funeral arrangements for our fallen comrade...The voice of the goddess.....Serah."

Lumen stretched his legs out and rested them on the other side of the bath before speaking.

"You may come in Prima! I am well cloaked in the robe of bath!"

Lumen kept his arms from being submerged, since his arm wrappings were still on.

(Indeed xD He tried his best in that fight. He was WAY overexerting himself. He killed close to 9 guys 0.o)

Walking in and setting down a stool, prima relaxed herself. "War..." that had been a word prima had not ever expected to hear again. "Tho i never got to meet serah, i'm sure it would have been nice to. may her soul rest in peace." "Oh wait, your bandages." She got back up removing the wrappings, and seeing the injuries to his arms. "can i clean your arms for you? I'll also get something to rub on them ease the pain"

Dangg it's 9 already. :'u i gotta get going soon.

Lumen was feeling extremely relaxed. He had everything he ever needed. A warm bath, good conversation with an attractive woman.

"I had hoped that war would not happen for awhile. With Erul and Iclios winding down from their skirmish, I hoped the world would have a rest from such widespread violence.
But sadly, Erul's new King seems to think his country can handle another full scale war....."

Lumen nodded to Prima in agreement.

"You two would have got along swimmingly. She knew so much about arcane lore and the history and ancient texts of the Goddesses. Even in the ancient dialects of the tablets...."

A relieved smile dawned Lumen's face. His arms were actually in a lot of pain.

"Th-that would be divine. Thank you...."

The arms of Lumen would be covered in black and blue bruises and a series of cuts. Large portions of his forearms were swollen from the brutal impacts of the Erulean blade swipes.

"Y-you know....Prima.....I was thinking....."

Prima hurriedly ran to grab the medicine, & got back quickly. she took her time cleaning off the dried blood from the cuts.

"Hmm?" she question's while cleaning his arm.

(xD Shet, i can't leave now, lumens about to say something interesting)

Lumen adjusted nervously in the bath as he went to speak.

"I wanted to have a nice dinner to announce my feelings about this...."

Lumen's arms started to feel better. The healing salve was numbing the pain.

"But you have been such a close friend......And you have been by my side for awhile...And we enjoy eachothers company..."

Now prima looked at lumen questioningly wondering where he was going with this. "One of the few." she smiled.

(xD i have to stay just a bit longer, cause i MUST know what he's going to say)

Lumen halted, his gaze was fixed on hers. Unwavering and stalwart his eyes stayed as he spoke.

"Would you be.....Opposed to the thought of.....Us becoming husband and wife?......"

(Just dropped da big one xD )

Prima was speechless. She couldn't find the words to respond, she felt her face become beat red.

She took a deep breath trying to calm herself down enough to speak, but she felt eventually tears start flowing on her face.
it was like a wave of dofferent emotions were all happening at the same time. finally she said something. (Or tried rather)

"I... yo... a..."
She took another deep breath.

"i..." She said something just at a whisper.

(xD you dropped the biggest one droppable, oh gosh i think prima's panicking, she can barely get out a response)

(Yup! I dropped the big one of big droppable big stuff! xD)

Lumen smiled warmly as we awaited her response.
He was sure he knew the answer, but he was still a bit nervous. Awaiting Prima's reply, Lumen stared at her.
Pink eyes gazing deep into hers.

(*He* Not We xD)

"She covered her face for a little bit, then suddenly grabbed lumens face. I-if you keep staring at me like that... i-i won't be able to say it!" She was half yelling. "Ye...." Taking another deap breath. "DAMMIT YES, I WANT TO BE YOUR WIFE LU-!" she stopped short, slinking down to her knee's. "I... i don't think my brain can function anymore."

Lumen tilted his head and smiled joyfully at Prima's answer.
He was overjoyed and her reaction made it all the more adorable.

"I am so glad to hear that Prima....You have no clue...."

Lumen leaned forward partially and hugged her. It hurt his arms to do so, but he did not care at that moment.

"We should wait proper moment to announce this to Akara...I would hate to overwhelm him when he returns..."

"I think i've been overwhelmed enough for the both of us, heh, i wonder what he'll say when he see's his trusted servant managed to tie the knot before him?" She hugged his neck. it was thing she could think to do now.

Lumen giggled audibly at the thought of Akara's reaction to their engagement.

"Akara will most likely faint. It might also make him speed up with his relationship with Nira, mage of Afai trained by Lady Calpurnia. I can see the look in his eyes. It is the same look I have for you."

Sighing in relief, Lumen stayed in embrace for a good long while before speaking again.

"It may not be the most romantic proposal, but at least I finally said it. It took a battle and the loss of a good friend to make me realize how sacred our time is...."

(Oh geez omfg guys! LUMEN! X'D *Throws rice everywhere* now i must ask when are the babes coming lol i wanna see lil albino babies running around by noon. Pfftt XD in all seriousness this was a pleasent surprise to wake up to. ^v^)
