At the end of the last session, Armin, Ivy and Jeremiah were sleeping in Armin's forest hideout; Crowley, Morty and Thorn were exploring the ruined hospital (with Ango and the dog squad on their heels), and Sheldon and Tochi were making their way out of the city, Sheldon having just been attacked by a werewolf.

Crowley grinned and tossed his long white scarf over his shoulder to keep it out of the way, raising his knife a little higher. 'Are you kidding?' he asked Morty. 'Of course I want the crazy one. Killing insane people is great. It's like putting a sick animal out of its misery, only more fun.'

He said the last part with enormous relish, and advanced upon the figure slumped in the corner of the room.

Sheldon mimicked her, casting his eyes back and forth across the vast, intimidating expanse of fields and woods that lay beyond the city gates. '...I'm not an expert,' he said timidly. 'I don't want us to get hurt because I made a stupid decision... but... m-maybe we should go under the trees? At least then we'll have SOME protection...'

Keenan follows boredy, sighing a little.
"This is so much fun."
"Your life must be exciting then."

"Sounds good to me," Tochi agreed. "So, we need to find a good tree and build a tent out of branches and things?"

Sheldon didn't answer immediately; he'd just noticed the edge of the moon disappearing beneath the horizon, and seemed oddly fixated with the sight. Then he abruptly jolted back to reality and said, 'Uhmm, yes. Yes, we should. I think. Can you... lead the way?'

"Don't mind if I do," Thorn smirked at Morti, and shifted into her cat form. She then detached one of her front paws from her legs and slashed at the human's face with it, some thorns from the vines around her paws getting caught on their skin. (I forgot their victim's gender whoops,,,,)

Tochi gave a quick nod and set off into the woods, looking around for a suitable tree and some loose branches for the shelter.

"I think this'll do," she said, halting in front of a large oak.

Sheldon limped up to the tree and, reaching up as high as he could, tugged experimentally at one of the branches. It was half-rotten and broke away easily in his hands. 'I-I think we can use this one to... build something?'

(read tochi's response too fast and misinterpreted it as using the tree to get branches from)

Tochi pulled off another branch. "Yes, hm, yes... let's get as many of these as we can carry and find another tree to stack them against."

Nodding shakily, Sheldon started pulling down a few of the sturdiest-looking branches he could see, throwing them into a pile on the ground. He only had one arm to work with - the arm that had been bitten by the werewolf had gone numb and stiffened up.

'Um, how many do you think we'll need?' he asked after he'd gotten about ten branches.

Tochi, who'd pulled off about the same amount, replied, "This might be enough. If not, we'll just come back to this tree later."

Sheldon scooped up his own stack of branches into his arms, letting out a grunt of effort. Strangely, though, they didn't feel as heavy as he'd been anticipating.

'Where should we go?' he asked, cautiously surveying their surroundings. 'There seems to be some big trees over there...' He pointed in a vaguely northern direction.

"We'll head over there, then," Tochi said, scooping up her own pile with slight difficulty.

(I am, but I have nothing I can do until @King and @Radiant finally find Ango's mum.)

Sheldon hurried after her, not wanting to lose sight of her in this place. Even with the first hints of amber sunlight creeping over the horizon, the woods carried a dark, forbidding atmosphere.

(King is online, but seems to be dead.

The biggest drawback of only having four members is that everything moves really slowly.)

They yell out as he gets attacked, stunned by her paws detatching. They then bring their forearms up around their face to protect it from further damage.
Grinning, Mortikai leaps up at a nearby shelf unit, using it to bounce off and twist midflight to land on their head, keeping a grip with his claws as he bites down on one of their hands until he tastes blood. The young nurse's screaming and yelling seems to unsettle the patient in the corner, making them thrash around a little.

Tochi arrived at a good-looking tree and stopped walking. "This is a good one for building, I think," she said.

Crowley glanced briefly at the carnage before him, his crueller instincts urging him to join in and make the dim-witted human drink their own blood. Then he shook his head, getting hold of himself, focusing on his own chosen prey. Noticing the patient's disquiet, he grinned. /Soon enough, you won't have aaaanything to worry about.../

Letting out a shriek of bloodlust, he leapt at the patient and pinned them to the floor with his front paws.

(Nvm, hi King x'D)

'Right. So we just, uhm, pile the branches against it to make a sort of... tent thing?' Sheldon asked, starting towards the tree and beginning to arrange his branches, propping them against the trunk so they wouldn't fall.

Thorn cackled, wrapping one of her bramble vines around the nurse's neck so the thorns poked into their throat. She didn't wrap them tight enough to kill them, though.

Frightened, they begin to panic, which is only made worse by Crowley's yell and his patient's scream in response. They try to pull the vines and shake Morty off, coughing a little. He only clings on tighter, making blood trickle down their face with his claws digging into their head.

Sheldon was quiet for a while, focusing all his energy on building the hideout so they would have somewhere to rest. After most of the branches had been arranged, he wandered off a few paces and came back moments later with an armful of huge ferns, which he draped over the top of the hideout to create a soft green roof.

Ango turns to look at Keenan, laughing lightly at his angry expression. Toby looks very smug, tail wagging a little.
"...Shuddup."
He growls.

Crowley grinned down at the patient, showing bloodstained, needle-shaped teeth. 'Don't worry,' he whispered to them. 'I won't kill you TOO quickly.' He dug his front claws hard into their shoulders, drawing trickles of blood.

"Looks pretty good," Tochi said with satisfaction. "Anything else we could add?"

(ay, sorry for all my really short comments)

'I think--' Sheldon started, but Tochi never got to find out what he thought. A gruff roar exploded through the trees, accompanied by the shadow of something huge flying over them from behind.

'GET BACK!' Sheldon shrieked, grabbing Tochi's arm and dragging her backwards into the shade of their tree. Moments later, there was an earth-shaking thump as the transformed dragon shifter, nearly twelve feet tall and smoky-grey in colour, landed in front of them.

Tochi hardly dared to breathe, staring up at the enormus reptile with wide eyes. "Did... it see us?" she asked Sheldon in a whisper.

'I... I - maybe?' Sheldon stammered, fear making his voice unnaturally high. Suddenly the dragon's head turned towards them, shining orange eyes seeking them out in the shadows.

'One of you is a human!' he declared, his own voice - in contrast to Sheldon's - deep and powerful. 'And one of you is not. How did you escape the city alone, human?!'

"Well, I... we were both humans, then we ran into a werewolf, and he got bitten, and then we escaped together?" Tochi explained. "So... I didn't escape /alone./"

The dragon lowered its head slightly and sniffed the air. 'You are not lying,' he said following a long, tense pause. 'The boy smells of werewolf. But you are still human... and I am under orders to kill or capture every human I find. You may have run out of Shacklestone, but you are still a resident of it.'

The patient begins to thrash around more violently, yelling out at the pain.
"Would you both just shut up already?!"
Mortikai yells before ripping into the nurse's hand with his jaws, letting blood spurt forth. They keep their mouth shut, despite the terrible pain.
"Thank you."
He almost purrs.

Crowley looked up from his victim as everything seemed to go quiet, minus the sound of blood splattering on the hospital floor. 'Are you gonna stop playing with that nurse and just kill it already?' he asked a little impatiently.

( @King is that "patient" Ango's mom?)

(I was just about to ask that. XD)

"But we like to play with our prey," Thorn objected, tickling the nurse's face with a vine. "Go on, give us a little smile..."

"You could capture me. But you can't kill me," Tochi said bravely. "The Silver Count doesn't want me deaf."

'I don't know if I'll believe that,' the dragon growled. 'But I can certainly take you back to the Count. He can tell me whether he really wants you alive or not.'

He lunged forwards with a paw, aiming to grab Tochi so he could carry her away.

"It's nice to be a little sadistic sometimes."
He grins, tail curling slightly.
They manage a tiny smile, trying to prolong their life as long as possible.

(I'm probably gonna have to go soonish, it's getting kind of late here.)

'You're right about that...' said Crowley, smirking nastily as he returned his attention to the patient beneath him. 'What about you, weirdo? Are you gonna beg for mercy, or are you too crazy to even know what's going on right now?'

(King: We really need to get the group on their way to Ango's mum then, we've spent enough time doing this scene already. XD)

Tochi glanced at Sheldon, wondering what was going to happen to her. She let the dragon take her.

(I've been imagining this scene for ages now XD all we need is these two to die and doggo squad to circle around)

They begin to whimper, still trying to struggle underneath him.

Sheldon had started to back away, but when the dragon's paw closed around Tochi, something in him seemed to snap. In his eyes, he was watching the only person who might be able to help him survive in this hellish new world being taken away from him. He had no weapon, nothing at all, but he let out a strangled cry and threw himself at the dragon full-force.

Halfway through his leap, something changed. His outline flickered and blurred like the horizon on a hot day, and reddish-brown fur erupted from his body as his form shifted into something definitely not human. At the end of the leap, he sunk his newly-grown fangs deep into the dragon's foreleg, and the creature roared in pain and released Tochi.

'Huh, I guess I was right,' commented Crowley when the patient failed to give any verbal response. He casually brought his claws up and slit their throat, spilling blood across the clean white hospital floor.

( @Crowley and @Motikai Finish them already! No one cares about npcs! XD)

Tochi fell onto the leaf-covered ground and looked up in wonder and amazment at Sheldon's new form. She wanted to say thank you, but she was too shocked to speak.

"Hmph...I suppose our plaything must meet it's end. Would you do the honours, since you already have a hold?"
Morty says, nodding towards the vines still wrapped around their neck.
The patient spasms as blood pours from their wound, flopping weakly as more and more flows, eventually lying still.

Sheldon jumped away from the dragon and circled around, his hackles up as he searched for an opportunity to strike again. The dragon made as if to pounce on him, then reconsidered and drew back with a slight frown. In his tranaformed state, Sheldon was almost ten feet tall standing on his hind legs, and had teeth and claws like scythes. He did not want to risk his life tussling with a creature that large.

Without a word, he took off and soared up into the sky, the sound of his wing-beats slowly fading into silence. The golden light of dawn was just beginning to stretch across the land.

"Gladly," Thorn purred. "Awfully sorry about this, plaything~"

She suddenly tightened the vines around the nurse's neck, crushing it.

(* transformed)

"Sheldon, I..." Tochi stared at the werewolf, still in shock. "...That was... amazing! See, you ARE useful,"

Crowley jumped catlike off the patient's body, and then stood stock-still watching Morty and Thorn taking out the other human. /This is almost better than killing people myself,/ he thought, his eyes fixed on the pooling blood.

The reddish-brown werewolf dropped onto all four paws and slowly padded towards Tochi, no recognition in his eyes. Then he paused and sat down quietly in front of the hideout they'd just built, gazing at her with a curious expression. It seemed that Sheldon didn't have any human consciousness while fully transformed.

(I just thought of something interesting with Sheldon. Eventually he'll learn to keep his humsn mind when he transforms, but then he probably won't want to hurt or kill anything. XD Let's enjoy his newfound fighting ability while we still can--)

"Well, that was fun. I think I saw a sign pointing towards the rooms of the slightly more stable ones, so they should be able to put up a better fight."

Crowley grinned. 'Sounds like a plan to me. Maybe they'll actually be able to ask me NOT to kill them, that might be fun.'

(Oh and by the way, I don't know if anyone will see this now, but if anybody wants to add more characters in the RP then you can. Since there are so few of us, I don't really care about OC limits anymore. But there will be a couple of rules for it if you do.)

(Alrighty. There are two important rules, I might think of more later.

Rule 1: You can't have too many non-humans. This rule is mostly in place to balance out power levels in the RP. If you already have two non-humans, then your next character should be a regular human.

Rule 2: Don't have more characters than you can keep track of. I have five, and I wouldn't recommend having more than that.)

(Another one, which is more of a recommendation than an actual rule: don't have all your characters doing the same thing. Spread them out, have them all in different places following different goals.)

(I think I could manage that. Vitis goes one way, Dianne another, and Jerry goes about his own campaign. They might occasionally cross paths, but they won't always be working towards a common goal.)

(Welp, Morty's gonna stick around with Crowley and Thorn, while Keenan takes Ango out of the city, then maybe I could have Evil Brink come up to him like "hey kid can you go and round the rest of the gang up" and he's like "yes boss!!!" and he fights some shifters for being traitors to Brink for allegiance-ing themselves with Sargon)

(Yeah, that sounds alright. Another thing you could consider is having a character who doesn't have a specific goal. Maybe a human who's just doing what they can to survive, like Tochi and Sheldon.
I dunno, I'm just tossing ideas around now. XD)

(But I think it'd be cool to see a few new characters from everyone entering the picture, especially since as so many characters like Finy and Asher aren't around anymore.)

Actually, that's kinda what Vitis is doing right now. He just wants money, so he'll be going around doing random stuff and probably rubbing people the wrong way. Dianne's role in taking down Sargon will be relatively minimal even if Jerry can convince her, so that leaves a lot open as well. Jerry, on the other hand, is a complete tryhard. 24/7, all he'll do is try to beat Sargon. X)

(Yeah, Jeremiah definitely doesn't seem the type to back down, even though he's facing an ancient powerful vampire who just destroyed his home city in one night. XD

I want to see more of Vitis, hopefully soon Crowley will be free and they can meet up. Crowley actually has similar ideas to Vitis. He doesn't care about the war that's going on, he just wants to kill and steal.)

Yeah, as you'll eventually find out, Jerry might not be completely sane or a complete good guy either. Some of the stuff he's told Armin might not be entirely true. ;)
I can't wait for Crowley and Vitis to meet. They're going to be totes besties! XD

@King y'know, that does sound pretty cool. Is Brink going to be all like "Sargon, stop stealing my peeps!" And then Sargon's all like, "F you, fleabag! I do what I want!" And then Brink's peeps and Sargon's peeps are going to fight?

Yeah, those two will get along great! Aside from trying to kill each other at first, maybe. XD)

If you look back at the previous RPs and compare them to Jerry's interactions with Armin, you might find some contradictions in some of the things Jerry says. ;)

Oh, they'll definitely try to kill each other the first time around. I guarantee you though that the next time Vitis sees Crowley after the fight, he offer him a beverage as if nothing happened at all.

(Hmm, I'm curious. I don't remember seeing anything like that, but then, there are a few things from the RP that I don't remember. If I can ever find the time I might have to look through old sessions for some of those contradictions.

Yes, exactly. By fighting, they'll earn each other's mutual respect. Hopefully. XD

I'm curious though, if a spirit like Brink or The End starts to become a major hindrance to Sargon, what would he do about it? His army might be good for killing physical threats, but what about incorporeal ones?

(Crowley will never fully respect anyone. But if he's not trying tp kill or maim you, it's probably a sign that he thinks you're OK. XD

Sargon doesn't just have physical soldiers in his army. He would also have magic users capable of fighting against spirits and similar enemies, and Sargon himself has a great deal of magical power. But something like Brink could still be a big threat to his army, and he'd probably suffer major losses.)

(Anyway, I need to do some things, so I think I'm gonna head off now. See you!)
