Her name is Aurora Butterfly. She is the daughter of Eclipsa and Eclipsa's Mewman husband before she eloped with her monster lover. Eclipsa left the royal family after giving birth to Aurora, leaving the kingdom with no queen and an heir too young to rule. Aurora grows up in constant fear, locked away in the castle. Attempts are made on her life because she is the daughter of Eclipsa. The people in the castle do not explain to Aurora what happened to her mother (cont.)

Aurora grows up believing her mother is dead, and does not learn about dark magic. Aurora has very weak magic anyway. When she is of age to inherit the wand and the throne, the truth is revealed to her about her mother. Fueled with anger that her mother abandoned Mewni for selfish reasons, Aurora resolves to become strong and be the ruler Mewni desperately needs.
