Silvir quils are strange, they can be part of a species, a genetic mutation Or something you can give yourself!
Quils are retractable but can also be placed flat along the spine. When they are retracted they either can just sit there or search for flesh wounds and broken bones inside and outside the body to fix.

Retracted quils can shoot out accidentally when the owner of them is scared, surprised or angry. This often ends in ripped up clothing.

When large wounds are open the quils will become more like tiny threads and retract back into the spine and find their way tBrough the body to the wound and then stitch it up all on their own.

Freshly plucked quil can be placed on any creatures spine and that quilted will enter the creature's body. The can then use that quil and grow more.

Extra info that's not on drawing-

If a freshly plucked quil is put on something else's wound it will stitch it, howeber to fix a bone it must be placed in the spine first.

The reason they stitch things up, fix bones, stand on end when scared and fix other things wounds is because the quils gain a connection to the owners brain, so when they have an open wound and they want it to be healed the quils will stitch it up.

Silvir quils are a silvery white colour.

They are extremely sharp when stood in end and when thread like.
