The elves of Ine are distinctly devided into two sub types.
Some races in Ine have different variation but has little to no impact on the race overall. Like centaurs coming in more horse or deer like qualities, harpies looking like certain kinds of birds, ect.

HOWEVER, in the elf race that is very different!

There are surface (wood) elves and underground (dark) elves.

The wood elves are a very wild and noble race, living with nature rather than against it. They come in an array of different skin, hair, and eye colors usually reflecting the nature around them. (Such as if there is a lot of blue flowers where they live elves in the area may tend to have blue eyes)

They are mostly nomadic with a few established cities. Usually royal cities where the elite familes reside.
There are four elite familes, established like the four winds and they live in the treetops in bridge cities veiled in magic. Invisible to most and lit in sunlight in the day and fireflies by night.

The wood elves age slowly, about ten years is like one to them, and they cease aging at about full maturity which differs from person to person.

They celebrate a few holidays, but most are not annually. Rather they come around every few years or decades. Like the romantic festival of the lover moons dance held when the far distant moon can be seen orbiting with the naked eye (every century or so).
Or the year of fire that comes every five years when their world rotates closest to the sun (every five years) or the few shared holidays with centaurs in the great return feast (every seven years OR after a great drought).

They are wild, more or less kept in check by a royal family and mostly obey nobody but themselves and protect their lands and traditions.

Males and females grow about the same with little difference being equally strong and sized.

They loathe dark elves....

Dark elves do things.... differently...

For one they are not nomadic. Rarely will one leave their deep cavern city of birth.

They lives MILES under the surface and have superior hearing and dark vision to any other race... so much so regular noise and light can hurt or damage them. More good reason to never venture to the surface.

They live much more like humans. With schooling and more organized government.

Every city is controlled by families. Every family is catorgized and numbered from greatest to least, the top five govern the city ad they wish.
How do you get ahead? Murder any family greater than you of course!
So the biggest families have the biggest armies too... mostly unwanted males.

In dark elf society males are the lesser gender and seen as third class citizens. Only kept around to fight the females wars or make them more daughters.
Every leader is a woman, and she can have as many drone males as she likes. Usually three. One skilled in weapons, one in magic, and maybe one she just wants.
Male children are considered burdensome. No family keeps more than two actual sons. Any more than two would be a chore to educate and are usually made into soldiers in their personal family armies with no love or education.

The two 'actual' sons are trained only to be doled up for greater leaders to pick up as drones to better their birth family's political worth.
Daughters are trained into powerful priestesses and spellswords.

And FINALLY, males tend to be smaller and weaker than females.
The dark elves also worship spiders, finding them to be divine creatures.

Keep in mind that these are not universal. Some wood elves go and live in human cities, perferring that. And not every dark elf is a monster *cough like Bramble is no monster cough*
