normally, in my 'style', this would look so desaturated but i used the hell out of color theory and now it looks normal
it was meant to be a color experiment but instead became a discovery on how to make my art better
it also pushed me to study bottle glass and not so loose fabric folds (first time drawing it so it looks kinda bad)
also this was meant to be connected to an experiment like the liquid was supposed to look like it was floating and stuff
* irl reference used on hands and fabric
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

"It was meant to be a color experiment, but instead became a discovery on how to make my art better"
lol such words of truth.
the story of my art life.
this does look really good, some edges are a little rough (darkening the edges slightly can fix that) but the coloring is /nice/. (and lol, i actually thought of sharktoof's zack when i saw this)
im really glad i told you about color theory, cause it's helped you a lot, which makes me happy because something /i/ did helped you.

ahh, yep the one you saw was probably birdy's. it was posted iinnnnn.....i think 2OI4 maybe? i link people to it kinda often on here to get them started with color theory, i do so much so that i have its tag memorized, #btp2. lol.
and it's fine to comment on vents! it's only the ones that specifically mention "don't comment" that shouldnt be commented on. it's not disrespectful to comment on the other ones :)
id honestly post all the vents on private if i wasnt paranoid of ever getting locked outta my account and thus losing them, since i like the art in them.
(losing my now eleven year old krazy katt xbox account in late 2OI3 gave me account loss paranoia. it's my fault for it because my eight year old self being dumb on emails and stuff, but still.)

Re: You're not pressuring, :000
I appreciate the comments I really do! I'm kind of just in a slump rn, it like just swing left to right a lot. I feel like my art is looking worse for some reason. But you guys probably can't tell since I the last few pieces I did were private xD
It'll get better I'm I just need some time.

Re: Thank you so much! Sometimes, I hardly draw any scales unless it's a close-up. What I like to do in darker lighting is throw on a couple transparent spots, then some smaller ones on top. You might be able to see what I mean if you look at the base of my dragon's wing. Hope that helps!

Actually, @Uruwen's painting might be a clearer example: http://colorslive.com/details/3776701

Re: I see. I figured a bright background would kinda mess with the focus on the character. Not really one to use color theory or think much on the colors I'm using. Though the piece is already posted and done I'll definately think about that more on my next pieces. Thanks for the help and tips! ^y^

Re: Thanks! It was kind of fun to re-draw :P
It's kind of a joke on discord, I saw this poptart commercial and in it the heads grew up really big. XD
Me and one of my friends both change our profiles to the same picture from that commercial. And now it's hard to tell us apart xP

re: yea, I kinda have to agree with you about my painting. I had realized my mistake when i was coloring it in, (Hands have always been my weak point when drawing). But thats not necessarily a bad thing. Take Raphael from the Renaissance, for instance; he altered the reality of his paintings to make it seem like you could reacch into his works. He would purposefully make the hands that were farther away from the person smaller. Of course, my way of doing this was not intentional.
