Petra's past wasn't an easy one.Her mother enlisted in the Battalion, and left without keeping in touch with the family. Her father homeschooled Petra, while her younger sister, Eugenia, went to school. Her father enrolled Petra in high school, much to Petra's dismay. During the time she was homeschooled, Petra became close friends with Joan, due to their similar backgrounds. From the ignorant staff at the school, to bullies, Petra's pent-up rage was taken out onto a fellow student, resulting in her expulsion. Instead of finding a different school to go to, Petra ran away from home and joined a band, known as the Crystallites. During this time, Petra gets into a sex.ual relationship with Joan.

Her and the band get into all kinds of trouble, from drugs to petty crimes. In an act of desperation to pay off one of their dealers, Petra mugs a rich man on the street, and accidentally kills him. This is also the moment where she discovers her uncontrollable magic for the first time. Joan makes efforts to help Petra, but she informs her that someone more powerful than her has to help her. Petra is covered in guilt, breaks up with the band and Joan, and returns home, only to find out that her mother was killed on the line of duty. Her father has also a disease that he has had for years, which paralyzed him from the waist down, and didn't tell his kids until now. He begs Petra to put him out of his misery, and gives Petra her mom's dog tags. Her sister is also missing, presumably searching for her. Petra kills her father against her own will, and goes to search for her sister.

On the streets, she helps out a wounded Alea, and nurses her back to health after taking her to a motel. The two become close friends, and they fall in love. Joan is jealous of the two, and seduces Petra. Alea finds out shortly after, and breaks up with Petra. Devastated and upset with herself, Petra goes on a crime spree, making her a wanted criminal around Metropolania. #sushikin
