Well, how roleplays commonly work is that the leader/maker of the roleplay posts up pictures explaining rules and general story lore that are all connected by a group hashtag. Players then read what is on the pictures made by the leader to learn said rules and lore. Every roleplay of course has its own unique rules...BUT I have found that most roleplays follow a little formula of function that is almost always the same. I'll go ahead and elaborate further! ^0^

Ima slice up these things into lil tiny cheese squares of info. Makes it easier for me to explain since theres so much to tell xD Some of what i'll explain are even unspoken/written rules that commonly effect roleplay groups and cause confusion. Feel free to ask questions about each one if necessary. I'm here to help ^0^

[1]:--{Most Common Rules}--Most roleplay groups have the following rules. (No overtly adult content) (No overpowered characters) (No additions or stories that overlap or conflict with past orpresent plot elements for the story.)

[2]:--{No meta-gaming}--
''Meta-Gaming'' as its called, means to learn something or know something about a character/item/lore/situation/etc outside of game, but then have your character know about it and speak about it when it would be impossible for them to know otherwise.

[3]--{Ships}--
In alot of roleplays on Colors, people are permitted to ' 'Ship' ' their character with another players character. As in, a romantic relationship in roleplay that might lead to the characters marriage. A problem I often see with this subject, is that alot of people will (On purpose or by accident) ' 'Force Ship.' ' And what I mean by this is that a player may be make character. But in that characters description, they'll put that their character has a crush on a speific player, and state that tneir character and the had been friends for a long time. To most people, that will come across as forced shipping.

The next thing i'll cover is important tips that will help you roleplay. Not unspoken rules. ^0^

Most roleplays on colors have a unique ' 'Niche ' ' to their story that makes it unique to others or defines its roleplay genre. For instance, one roleplay may be about an evil warlock summoning spirits to attack a kingdom ruled by a benevolent king who once quarreled with him. Or another might be about an ancient alien technology left within the depths of a mine that has been discovered. The one with the warlock is most likely a fantasy roleplay that has heavy magical story elements and probably has next to no high technology or modern technology. Plus, it probably has a more dramatic or comedic bend to it. More likely dramatic.

While the Ancient Alien Technology one is probably a more spooky modern roleplay with a futuristic scifi twist.
Once you figure out a roleplays genre, you can make your character and roleplay accordingly. :D

Oh roleplays I would suggest! Well I got a wide range of roleplays I would suggest! I'll dot some down after some more explaination :D I explaining the stuff I wish I knew when I first started out roleplaying. Because it might have affected the way people viewed me for a bit xD But if you learn all these tricks early, it should not only save you time with trial and error, but also save you some of the horrible humiliation I experienced xD I'm very self concious, so when I looked at my past flubs...I got all flustered. Rip me xD

Know yer stuff! And more importantly, know their stuff!

When roleplaying, it is important to stay within the rules and story guidelines. Knowing the rules not only helps you roleplay without accidentally making yourself look bad, but also helps keep order to the roleplay. Aaaaand! As an added bonus, if you know your rules well enough, it will make it easier for you to explain and help your friends join the roleplay! Also, if you know the rules like the back of your hand....You can speak confidently in an argument about rules if it does happen to come up. ^0^

Where roleplays happen!

Roleplays take place in the comments section of paintings posted by users in the roleplay. Most roleplay pictures are atrached to the roleplay groups tag. Players will make posts to eachother in response to eachothers actions in their posts.
And every so often, The leader of the roleplay group or Admin will host an Event Roleplay. Which is basically just a fancy way of saying: A Chaoticly fun roleplay event that has more than 8 players roleplaying together on one pictures comment section.

Ah thank you! Your too kind! ^0^ But, It is funny you asked cause, I have been writing down story plot and rules for a roleplay I have been devising for about 4 months now. It is not even close to being fleshed out yet, and I intend on finishing the roleplays i'm commited to before starting it up. Buuuuut! I will definately inform you when its finished. My story is set in a futuristic world where their are two species fighting to claim earth, the aliens (i call them neo humans) and regular humans.

Oooooh! I like that idea! Kinda like an old cartoon I watched a long time ago called Exo Squad! I would totally read/watch or join something with a plot like that! I love those kinds of stories :D

there is three sides to the conflict:
blue- mainly humans (very small amounts of neo)

Orange- lots of both species (clearly dominant)

Grey- lots of both species (on neither side but still pressured constantly to pick a side)

On my original profile i will draw what all sides are like (including armour)

I see! And each faction is also experiencing its own problems from said conflict with eachother! Along with each of them all having seperatw goals! :D
