@Blood That's fine! ^o^ And yeah, I'm actually not one for those crazy myriad gender labels myself (Though I have some good friends that are LGBT and respect them.) Neelam is of one of the two biological genders but it hasn't been made apparent as of yet (I thought it'd add mystery to their character, though, in retrospect, I'm not sure how that'd work out unless there were a reason to hide their identity.) I might make them male, as there are more ladies than dudes as of now in the RP, and many have already referred to the character as a "he".

Alright, changing his description. ^o^ Neelam's backstory should be up after I finish supper!

Thus, here it is! :3
/Never must that incident escape my memory,/ the silver-haired young man squeezed his ice-blue eyes shut, deep in concentration, pursuing a crucial memory, his breath inclining towards an adagio rhythm, spilling out in delicate, pale wisps in the frigid air. The crisp, refreshing scent of his home State's climate filled Neelam's nostrils. /I mustn't, even if it is best forgotten. For it is a piece of the history of myself that I must bear. A piece of everyone on this planet...Surely their hearts have not overlooked 'that' situation so quickly.../

@Blood XD I know what you mean. X3 Feminine and masculine pronouns are more specific, as it were. Plus, if you were in a room with a group of people, and were addressing someone of a non-specified gender, imagine the confusion:
"You know, them."
"Me, sir?"
"Oh, dear. I apologize, but I meant them."
"Wait, is it to I you're referring-"
"No, no, no. THEM." <XD

Anyway, back to the story... ^-^
He frequently made this event resurface in his mind so that he could recall it aliken to the fact that the sun had arisen at the peak of today's dawning. The following was what Neelam would visualize in these bouts of remembrance:
' He was seven years old at the time, wide-eyed and petite in stature. The small child shared a home with his doting mother, gruff yet caring father, and an older brother. They dwelled under the hickory roof of a cottage overlooking a glimmering turquoise lake. Neelam had experienced pleasant days in his early childhood. 'Til come one night...

'As would be expected of a little one after dusk, Neelam was snug under his bedsheets, dozing off, cricketsong having lulled him to sleep. Abruptly, he stirred upon hearing a dull slam. His bedroom door? His eyelids flickered open, pallid moonlight filtering through the otherwise darkened room. He glanced toward the glossy wooden door, inky black due to lack of adequate lighting, then rotated his peripheral vision to the right. However, what he glimpsed in the corner of his wintery azure gaze was reason enough to instill shock. His brother, whose bed was positioned on the other extremity of the room, was absent, his covers in a rumpled heap.

He drew in a sharp gasp, his pupils shrinking slightly as he fully rotated his head in the direction of the matress void of its recipient. Although adrenaline had begun to surge through his body, he managed to bring himself to relax. /That's strange,/ he contemplated. /It's unlike him to venture out this late. Wonder where he's going.../ Aeolius had a tendency of going out on strolls, for, as a teen, he was granted more freedom, but only to an extent (the boy shied away a certain dread-plagued thought, too exhausted to worry about it). Bedtime was sacred in their household; why would his older sibling, whom Neelam revered as awe-inspiring and mature, go and break such a traditional code? Suddenly, instinct caused him to spring out of bed, tossing his blankets aside. He simply had to be apprised of this!

He sprinted excitedly towards the doorway, though was more concerned about proceeding in his actions more silently once the click of the cold, steel knob resounded throughout the hallway, causing a wave of unease and tension to strike his heart. As he reluctantly ambled down the shadowy hallway with caution did it truly dawn on him that he was also sneaking out under the condition that his parents were unaware of his act of disobedience as of yet. It made his stomach sink, Neelam disappointed in himself. But he had to find his brother and make sure he was safe! That notion provided him with more confidence as he entered the parlor.

(Sorry this is taking so very long. XC)

*Neelam's stomach sank in self-disappointment
Just felt I could've worded that better. :3

Fixated on his goal and finally reaching the front door, Neelam stepped out into the freezing night, a chilly breeze blustering across his features and stirring his silvery, soft hair. A mere half-inch of pure, fresh powder graced the earth, and a few ice crystals drifted gently from the semi-clear sky to the near solid terrain. A plethora of stars (which resembled said snowflakes, though fixed in place), along with the pearlescent moon, were visible in locations void of slate-gray cumulus clouds hurrying across the heavens. On ground level, the lake was nearly frozen over, reflecting lunar brilliance. Crickets were no longer audible, and all was still. The boy scanned for signs of his older sibling and discovered footprints in the snow leading from the cottage. It discomforted him that he'd be even more chilly whilst running after Aeolius, but he was far too restless to turn back now.
