Sooo I've never played these games and there both 50 percent off on PSN, I wanna play these to see why there so good, yes I know there hated but I wanna play them myself

I think you should. Because, maybe you might enjoy the game and like the game's soundtrack. YEAH, the gameplay might be jarring and annoying at times, but, it wouldn't hurt to try them out for yourself and see how good they are. (Be warned of lots of cutscenes where the soundtrack plays viciously over the voice acting XD)
