Hey, admitting that work needs to be done is a strong first step. It would've been incredibly easy to just hole yourself up and never talk to anybody again, but in the long run, having a close bond with your audience is infinitely more fulfilling.
I hope this change works out and it develops you for the better as an artist, because you certainly deserve every bit of improvement coming to you.

It's interesting to me because I find it that you are pretty communicative. You comment offering kind words, constructive criticism, and give good advice. Plus, you seem very approachable being a relatable and funny person in your art. But I can understand wanting to have a stronger personal connection to your audience. You've inspired alot of people; and those people, including me, are very appreciative of your dedication. You feel like a true friend that can be helpful when needed. Contests, asks, and especially chats are great ways to connect.
You are a great person Tex, keep inspiring people while you chase your own dreams :)
