big fren by Rip-Tooth

hi my name's Bad at Consistent Activity; here's one of my desert wyverns. Or at least, an attempt at one? I haven't drawn them in so long that I kinda forgot how to, and also I changed things on them. Will probably continue changing things, even.

This is the face of one of those things I said looked kinda like giant dragonflies while flying. This specifically is one of the greater wyverns, basically the big long and pointy ones. lorge fren

In that short span of time I actually forgot what else I was gonna write UHH...

THESE GUYS and the desert they live in are, as I've mentioned on another post, from my personal (also my first) headworld, something I've been playing with for around 5 years, but surprisingly the desert has seen very little development in that time. HONESTLY, I haven't touched it much aside from saying ok, it's huge and there's 3 really big animal species in it and some humans live there and have a religion, but other than that? snorTS.

This is because there's currently one story that takes place on this world that gets ALL of my attention. There used to be more but things changed; they'll be back, but right now and for a super long time before? It's been this one that never even goes into the desert! there's no reason to even build it up right now because you never see it!! what the heck I know.

I actually recently decided to overhaul a lot of things in and about this headworld. I mean, I've been building and rebuilding things constantly ever since I made the thing, but there were certain things I was adamant on not totally changing before that I have now because I started losing interest in my dear old world. I CAN'T HAVE THAT. Also since I focused so heavily on building ONE of MANY stories, I made it so that everything could work in that one but not the others, furthering the need for changes because darnit, one of the stories I goofed is the one of my /very first character/. Hadn't been able to fit her into anything since then, but I can say that her's WILL go into the desert.

go play with the big sandy monsters, brain daughter

Speaking of big sandy monsters, back on the wyverns: they're /super/ smart. I keep thinking of cetaceans when I look for a comparison. They and the desert people live together and get along quite well, so they truly are "big frens".

They sort of always were big friends; humans didn't start out on this planet (long story, that one) so it's not like it's an evolutionary relationship. It started out as one sided worshipping, the humans revered the sand serpents and the desert wyverns, saw them as the desert's gods and treated them as such. While the sand serpents never even noticed this, being a not very socially advanced species, the wyverns did as a highly social and intelligent species. They also tend to be very careful with animals far smaller than them (they mostly eat the serpents). They're rather curious too, so naturally they'd want to hang around and check out these weird structures showing up, and it went off from there.

Basically they're just excited to have more friends and they like helping these kind smol creatures survive in their sandy home. stop by today if u want a frickin giant wyvern buddy

*reads* you sound like me lol

ahhh these wyverns are precious big buddies. i'd probably be kinda afraid of them if they were real, since they'd be able to wreck you at any time if they wanted, but id still think they were sweet. i bet they'd look funny eating a fruit or something (even though they pretty much eat the serpents), i imagine fruit hunks getting stuck on their teeth and them making displeased faces at it.
