@King Covenant is way worse (in terms of gore) than Alien 1-4, and Isolation, but isn't as bad as Prometheus. You'll see what I mean when you see it.

As Keenan heads towards the area between the orphanage and the park, he sees a group of non-humans dragging a family out of their home. The father is already dead, the mother screaming for their children as they're dragged away. Growling, the lion charges into a pair of the non-humans, the static in his mane shocking them as he brings them to the ground. The one holding the mother slits her throat and throws her to the ground, the children screaming. In return, he pounces and slashes at them. The two holding the children shift and run, but he's hot on their heels.

{After the werewolf finished speaking, Dianne just stood there with a livid expression, her face white with anger. Without uttering a word, she turns and walks back up the stairwell. The draugrs just stand in their places, weapons at their sides.}

The shapeshifters, in a variety of different animal forms, continue trying to surround Jeremiah. The lone human-shifted one leaps sideways to evade the storm of bullets he shot at her, momentarily leaving the escape route clear.

Crowley grinned nastily as he heard the screaming in the distance. 'If you guys wanna go and see what's going on over there, I'll be right behind you,' he said.

(Aggron)

'Coward!' the werewolf pack leader shouted as he saw Dianne walk away. He made to chase her up the stairs and attack again, but the other werewolves held him back.

'She's not human,' one of them growled. 'Leave her. We've got more important prey to hunt.'

The entire pack filed out of the shop, casting wary glances at the draugrs as they passed them.

"I'm going, of course," Thorn said, tearing at the ground with her claws. "We might get to fight something."

(Draco)

Sheldon suddenly jerked awake for the second time that night, panicking briefly when he couldn't figure out where he was. Then the faraway sound of screams, yells, monstrous howls, and clashes of weaponry reached his ears, making him jump out of bed and run to the couch. 'T-Tochiiii!' he cried, shaking her awake. 'Something's going on!'

"A bit of Saturday night entertainment."
Mortikai muses, tail curling as he paces towards the sound of the nearest scream.
"Let's see what's going on."

{With the path clear, Jeremiah runs past the shifter at full speed. Quickly, he tosses another gas grenade behind himself and fires the last of his shots at the shifters behind him.}

(King/Draco)

Crowley sauntered after Morty, still in his dragon form. He seemed unusually quiet, but it was mostly because he was thinking up the most gory ways to kill people if he ended up in a fight.

Tochi practically leapt out of bed. "Sheldon!" she gasped, staring around the room. "What is it? What's going on?" She paused for a moment and whispered, "/Where/ are those horrible noises coming from?"

(Aggron)

The shifters fell back, most escsping the gas by backing further along the alleyway, others getting caught right in the middle. At least one of them was hit by a bullet, collapsing to the ground in a pool of their own blood.

(Draco)

'I-I don't know,' Sheldon squeaked, white-faced with shock. 'There's... there must be some kind of big fight going on! Or a riot!'

{Right after the pack of werewolves leaves, Dianne returns downstairs. This time, instead of wearing her sleepwear, she was outfitted with steel plate armour, thick plated boots, a shortsword, and the large, black greatsword. The necklace she was wearing is now is plain view, and the jewels are glowing slightly. She walks out the door, with the draugrs following behind her.}

"OK - what do you think we should do?" Tochi asked, her voice level but her heart beating loudly against her chest. "We could stay in here, where we'll be safe - for a while. Or we could go out and see what's going on."

(Draco)

Sheldon wrapped his arms around himself and glanced nervously at the door. 'I, um... is it locked?' he ventured.

Close to the orphanage, a row of shops and houses had been set on fire by the attacking non-humans, adults and children running for their lives while bright orange flames danced against the midnight sky.

{Jeremiah quickly reloads while running. Once he's sure he lost his pursurers, he stops in an alley and catches his breath.}"Frickin' psychos!" {He continues on his way, this time watching for suspicious birds above him.}

Tochi walked over to the door and turned the handle. It opened easily.

(Draco)

Sheldon hurried over to the door once he realised it could be opened. 'L-let's get out, now,' he said, shivering slightly. 'Before anyone sees us.'

(Anyone)

Arminus walked out from behind one of the burning houses, inspecting his surroundings with a grim expression. When nobody seemed to notice him, he quickly set off across the street, not attacking anyone, but not stopping to help any of the dying humans either.

{As Dianne walks, the corpses in the street she passes rise with glowing eyes and follow her. After a short while, she stops and turns to her undead host.}"Do you all see what's happening here? Go forth and find the one who leads this cabal! When you find them, tell me where they are! Go!" {The draugr mob run off in all directions, except for the two armored ones, who stay with Dianne.}

(Hey Aggron, I forgot if this was already written on Dianne's ref, but is there a limit to how many draugrs she can control at once?)

Roaring, Keenan slashes at the shifter's legs, managing to take out one of their legs. They fall, and their partner keeps running, the child they were carrying crying for their sibling. Keenan leaps over them and sinks his teeth into their ankle, bringing them to ground. He tears the other child out of their grasp and shunts them towards the other.
"Go and hide if you don't want to end up like everyone else!"
The two heed his warning and run off back into their house. After waiting a moment, Keenan returns to his journey.

(BRB, have to find some food.)

Tochi went through the door and walked down the hall/stairs/whatever's there at a quick pace.

{As Jeremiah crept along, he grimaced at all the carnage. Walking around the corner, he found himself staring down Arminus, who was about twenty feet away. Raising his gun, he speaks to him.}"You apart of this madness?"

(Draco)

Sheldon stuck close to Tochi's side as they descended the blue-carpeted staircase leading to the dining room, which was shrouded in semidarkness. There were no vampires or other people to be seen, not even Count Sargon. 'Tochi? I think there IS a big fight going on outside,' he said timidly.

(Aggron)

Arminus raised both hands in a peace gesture and fixed a surprised look on his face. 'Do I look like I'm part of it?' he asked.

(I'm imagining the whole city as a sort of apocalyptic warzone and it looks awesome. XD)

Tochi nodded. "And I imagine Count Sargon's group started it. And from what they said to us the other night... it's probably against the humans." She felt a sudden wave of panic. "Sheldon - do you think our parents are OK?!"

@Draco

Ango is jarred awake by Toby, barking and pacing around. She sits up in the armchair she had fell asleep in, looking around.
"Toby? Jed?"
She calls out, realising the lights had gone out. Then she hears the screams from outside and recoils.

(Draco)

Sheldon's knees went weak and he had to lean against the table to stop himself collapsing. 'I-I don't know,' he whispered. 'But we should be worrying about that later.' He WAS worried about his parents, but at that moment, his mind was too deadset on getting out of the Sargon's house to focus on much else. 'Can we... go outside and find a place to hide?'

The vampires hadn't quite reached the orphanage yet, but a group of them were just outside the front doors, attacking a few of the staff who'd gone out to investigate the noise. The police were also there, and the entire area was rapidly turning into an all-out battlefield.

( @Radiant Actally, I forgot to cover that. What do you think is a fair number?)
{Jeremiah looked him in the eye, gun still fixed on him.}"No, but I //do// know that you participated six months ago. Guess looks aren't everything, eh? All hell's breaking loose now, so why don't you tell me //everything//? Who's in charge, why you killed that girl, everything."

"Right," Tochi ran for the front door and cautiously poked her head out, stepping outside when she saw the coast was clear.

Jed barked loudly and shifted to his human form. "I looked out the window, and there's a huge fight going on. Dead humans everywhere. We've got to hide, right now."

Hearing yells and gunfire, Keenan puts a little extra speed into his step, swiftly arriving on the battlefield. He targets the nearest non-human, biting their arm and bringing them to the ground. A cop points a pistol at him and he stops, growling.
"Hey idiot! I'm on your side!"

(Aggron: Hm... the entire vampire army numbers about three hundred, so maybe thirty draugrs would be fair, considering she's controlling them all by herself.)

Armin's eyebrow went up in surprise, but he didn't try to attack Jeremiah or escape. He slowly lowered his hands and said, 'I'm willing to explain everything. But not out here, in the open. Not only will you be killed if someone spots you, but I'll also be in danger if any of the other 'non-humans' realise I'm talking to you.'

(Draco)

Sheldon followed, letting Tochi stay in the lead. The horrendous sounds of killing grew louder when they stepped outside, making his stomach churn with uneasiness.

(Draco/King)

Crowley pushed in front of Mortikai as he heard fighting not too far away. 'Outta the way, hairball, I wanna see what's going on!'

@Draco

"What?"
She says, standing.
"W-wha-? How? Is it something to do with that group from earlier?"
Toby sprints into the room, staring with worry at them both.

{Jeremiah lowered his gun slowly.}"Alright, where to?"

"I assume so," Jed said hurriedly, "But we'll talk about it later. Do you know any good hiding spots in here? If not, we'll go out the window - they're already outside the door."

Mortikai hisses, almost falling to the ground.
"Watch it, featherboy. Don't be getting too excited."

(Aggron)

A bang went off somewhere not far away, accompanied by a scream and rough yells of triumph. Looking agitated, Arminus replied, 'There's no time for this. You need to evacuate all the humans out of this city right now - if there are even any left to save.' He looked Jeremiah straight in the eyes. 'I know I'm guilty, but I promise I didn't want this to happen. If you evacuate your people, then I can give them all shelter outside the city walls. THEN I'll tell you what happened.'

{Spotting a lone shifter, Dianne approaches him.}"Hey, where's your boss?"

(King/Draco)

Crowley rolled his eyes and hit Mortikai with his tail, though not as hard as before. 'Shut up, fluffy.' He was approaching the area where Keenan and a group of police troops were fighting the non-humans, though he hadn't realised they were there yet.

@Draco

"U-uh, uhm..."
She puts a hand to her head as she thinks.
"The...the basement! It hasn't been used in years, an-and there's only one way in. I-it's big enough to fit everyone!"

(Aggron)

The shifter halted momentarily. 'I can't be sure where he is at all times,' he responded, after looking Dianne over and ensuring she wasn't human. 'Not unless he tells us. I'd guess he's somewhere in the northern end of the city.'

{Jeremiah frowns.}"Believe me, I'd want nothing less, but the city's in chaos, and the police are likely in disarray. Only chance of that is if I can make it to the police station, and sent out an emergency city-wide police broadcast, that is, if they haven't already done that themselves. How are you alone supposed to shelter all the survivors anyway?"

"I want a better look!" Thorn meowed impatiantly, squeezing between Morty and Crowley. "Ooh, what a big mob."

(Aggron)

Armin folded his arms, glancing around warily in case anyone was close enough to see them. 'Don't worry about HOW I'd do it,' he said. 'Just be glad that I CAN. And as for gathering the survivors together... well, the police might be useless, but what if someone sent a telepathic message to every human in this city, telling them where to go?'

He snorts, trotting up beside him.
"Sounds like everyone's having fun. Let's join in."

{Dianne turns and says something to her draugrs in an unknown dialect, then the three of them start running towards the northern end.}

(King/Draco)

Crowley stretched his head up and spotted the mob of fighters up ahead. 'Ooh, I see them now!' he exclaimed, getting excited. 'Let's go and kill them all!'

{Jeremiah tilts his head. //Could be a trap. Get them all in one place, just to kill them.//}"And how exactly are you going to do that?"

"Perfect," Jed approved. "Lead the way."

"Hold on there, do you want to get killed the moment you step in?"
He says with a slight grin, scanning the mob. His grin falls as he recognises Keenan among them, growling quietly.
"Son of a...Why is he here?"

(Aggron)

'You ask a lot of questions, don't you?' Armin commented. 'Listen, I can get all the humans - or what's left of them - to safety. Trust me, your police can't do anything - they're all too busy fighting off the opposition. You either accept my help, or watch everyone in Shacklestone die slow and agonising deaths right here, tonight.'

(King/Draco)

'What?' said Crowley immediately, hearing Mortikai's last comment. 'Who's that guy? Do you know him?'

{Jeremiah, seeing that he really doesn't have much of a choice, groans.}"Fine. What's the first thing we need to do?"

@Draco

She nods, then looks at Toby.
"Get people down here, quietly."
He nods, woofing as he runs up the stairs. Ango beckons him as she walks out of the room, heading into a small office.
"This is where all the keys are usually stored...I think it's a small, golden key."

@Rad/Draco

"He's a...partner of mine."
Mortikai grumbles, watching as the sandy coloured lion fights alongside the police, keeping an eye out for any non-humans that try to slip past and into the building.
"He's not meant to be here...Unless...he has orders."
His ears flatten against his head. Who could Brink possibly want in an orphanage?

(Aggron)

Armin hummed in acknowledgement. 'I'm going to telepathically call every human to this spot. From there, I'll lead them out through the city gates to the place they'll be safe. You'll need to cover us along the way. A group of humans that large is going to be a huge target... Plus, I'm sure you'll want to accompany me, to make sure I'm not leading all of the humans to their deaths or something.' He smiled grimly.

(King/Draco)

'Orders?' Crowley repeated, flexing his claws. 'From who? Are you and that other guy working for some secret boss? Are you both wanted criminals?'

{Jeremiah sighs, then raises a finger at Armin.}"Do it, but no tricks. If a horde of inhumans gather instead of humans, your a.ss is getting staked first."

Jed searched for the gold key, sending a telepathic message to any vampires near the orphanage. //I guess you're here to kill the humans, but you're wasting your time. You will not find us.//

{Dianne arrives at the northern end of the city, but finds her path blocked by the fight in front of the orphanage. Looking about, she catches sight of Crowley's group off to the side.}"Bird!" {She growls hatefully. Deciding that he's unimportant, she walks to the edge of the fight, grabs a shifter off the fringes, and pulls him away.}"Your boss, where is he?"

@Rad/Draco

"Well, in a way. Not the criminal part though, we wouldn't leave any evidence behind."
He laughs lightly.
"I'm more of a right-hand man, while lion boy over there is just a lackey."

'If I was planning to summon an army of magical creatures here, you'd be dead before you could get anywhere near me,' replied Armin without missing a beat. He then turned to gaze across the war-torn cityscape and sent a telepathic signal that would be heard by every living, conscious human in Shacklestone.

//Come to King's Road. You will be taken to safety. I repeat, assemble on King's Road.//

Once he was done, he shot Jeremiah an apologetic glance. 'I'm afraid I can't do anything to help those who are unconscious, or are too injured to make their way here.'

(King/Draco)

Crowley listened, but before he could answer he spotted a vampire viciously throwing a young human into a wall, and decided he wanted to be a part of it. 'Whooooo, DIE WEAKLINGS!' he shrieked, leaping into the fray and attacking random people - making no distinction between human and non-human.

(Aww, alright King, if you have to.)

(Aggron)

The shifter Dianne had pulled aside yanked himself out of her grasp and glared at her. 'Who the heII are you? Are you even a part of the Count's army?'

{Jeremiah stood there, waiting. He lights a cigarrete before he continues.}"Let's just do what we can. Once word of this makes it out of the city walls, the army will likely show up, declare marshal law, and probably do more harm than good for the peaceful non-human comunity. Whoever your boss is, he's not on the side of peace. This will only lead to more bloodshed."

{Dianne glares at the shifter. Everything going on around her made her sick, but she couldn't express that yet. Right now, she just needed to know who this count guy was and what his actual plans were.}"Not right now, but I want to see about that. Tell me where he is."

(Aggron)

Armin kept silent while he listened, watching the semi-darkened street ahead for any humans that might be approaching. 'Whatever happens after this, it won't be within our power to stop it,' he said. 'Count Sargon is ruthless - and you're quite right, he definitely doesn't want peace. He wants nothing but total control over this city and eradication of all the humans.'

(Aggron)

The shifter gave up trying to intimidate her and just said, 'Last time I saw him in person, he was heading for the prison just north of here. Something about releasing all the non-human prisoners and getting them to join his army. You might be able to see him if you go quickly.'

(I think I'll need to go soonish.)

Sighing, Mortikai glances at Thorn before joining Crowley in the fray. As he's running over, he stops and winces, the telepathic message worming into his biologically human mind. He shakes it off, paying no attention to what is said as he sprints to Keenan's side.
"Keenan!"
"M-mortikai! Sir!"
"What are you doing here?"
"Brink ordered me to protect somethin', sir."
"What the he.ll does he want with a bunch of kids?"

Ango tenses as she hears the message echo in her head, looking up at her friend.
"I-I just heard something. Someone. In my head. He...he's saying to get out of the city, o-or something."

{Jeremiah looks at Armin.}"His "total control" won't last long. Doesn't he realize what the aftermath of this will bring? This Count Sargon is either the biggest idiot on the planet, or a genius with a bigger plan we can't see."

(Draco)

Sheldon suddenly let out a yelp and stopped walking, grabbing Tochi's shoulder hard. 'I-I just heard something in my head... did you?' He gazed at her pleadingly, wanting to be assured that he wasn't going insane.

(King/Draco)

Crowley tore into the group with raucous yells and battle-cries, cutting down a vampire with his talons and knocking a human child off their feet with a careless sweep of his tail.

"A message in your head..." Jed blinked. "It could've been a vampire. Whether we can trust him, I don't know."

Thorn rolled her eyes. //They don't even know who they're attacking.// She charged into the mob, calling out, "Hey, you two! Pick a side or something, or you're just going to pi.ss them off!"

(Aggron)

Arminus gave a little shrug, his expression somewhat bleak. 'I don't know everything that goes through his head. I just know that all this death - this carnage - has been planned for months, maybe years.'

"It's okay, I heard it too," Tochi assured Sheldon. "We've got to leave the city or something..."

{Dianne once again speaks to the draugrs. This time, one of the armoured draugrs lets out a howl. In order to continue, Dianne must make it through the orphanage battle. Drawing the shortsword, she walks into the fray, past the less aggressive assailants on the fringes. She stands in the middle, and finds Crowley's wild attacks at everyone are keeping her from passing.}"Move, bird, or be moved!"

(Draco)

Sheldon took a step forward, them hesitated and looked at her worriedly. 'What if... what if it's a trap? I think only vampires can do the telepathy thing... it might be a message from a vampire that wants to kill us! ...But I suppose we're no safer if we just stay here...'

(Aggron)

Crowley didn't hear Dianne over the noise of the battle, but a moment later he spotted her. A mischievious grin split his jaws as he casually swiped towards her with his front claws. 'Hey, you're the one who got in the way of me stealing that wimp's pocket-watch!' he crowed. 'I should kill you right now!'

{Jeremiah sighs.}"It'll take centuries for the tension to die down again. And here I was, thinking I was going to live to see peace between both races." {He shakes his head.}"Now I won't, all thanks to Count Lunatic. T's a shame, really."

(Aggron)

'You know,' said Armin, 'Shacklestone's not the ONLY place where both humans and other creatures live together. In other countries, we've found peace - just not in this rat-infested city.'

Just then, a group of about thirty humans, escorted by a few mostly injured police officers, came around the corner. 'What's going on?' one woman asked Jeremiah. 'We were told to come here by... someone.'

{Dianne swings her sword at Crowley's swiping paw, cutting his talons off, inches from his fingertips.}"Come, then! Death awaits you!" {Her and her two draugrs assume a fighting pose, weapons in hand.}

(Hey Draco, want to have Thorn drag Crowley's worthless butt away before he gets himself killed?)

(Aggron)

Crowley yelped and hopped backwards, far enough that he was out of reach of Dianne and the draugrs' weapons. He hissed at her, crouching down as if preparing to pounce a second time.

{Jeremiah was about to speak when the group appears.}"Yeah, we're going to get as many people out of the city as we can. Armin, there may be more. How long can we feasibly wait?"

"Heyyy! Crowley!" Thorn yelled, pushing through the crowd. She looked around for any sign a black feather or the swish of a scaly tail. "Are you dead yet, featherbrain?"

(Aggron)

Armin thought for a moment. 'We can wait around for a few more minutes, but be prepared to fight if any non-humans converge on us. Which could probably happen at any time now.'

(Mortal Kombat X Announcer: "Round one. FIGHT!")
{Dianne and her draugrs advance towards Crowley, poised to stab him, should he lunge at them.}

{Jeremiah raises his gun and spins the revolver chambers.}"A'ight. Eyes open everyone!"

Crowley bared his teeth and slowly edged towards Dianne, before suddenly sweeping his tail around in an attempt to knock her legs out from underneath her.
At the same time, he vaguely heard Thorn's voice through the mob, but was too focused to respond in any way.

(Aggron)

The police officers who'd come with the human group also raised their weapons. Most were carrying knives or swords, having used up all their ammunition while fighting in the city earlier. 'On your right!' someone shouted, just as a shapeshifter in wolf form sprung towards Jeremiah from that side.
Meanwhile, two sword-wielding vampires lunged at Arminus out of nowhere, metal hitting metal with a deafening crash.

Thorn spotted Crowley with Dianne, but before she could get to him she was tackled by a shifter in the form of an arctic fox. The fox swiped a paw at her and she ducked to avoid the blow.

{Dianne was too focus on Crowley's upper half to notice his tail. His tail trips her and her minions, causing them to fall backwards. Dianne yells out angrily and tries to get up quickly. The draugrs are having a harder time of getting up. At the fringes, some of her fresher draugrs arrive at the scene.}

(Aggron/Draco)

Crowley burst out laughing when he successfully tripped both Dianne and her draugrs, not even bothering to make a follow-up attack. Just then, he glimpsed Thorn off to the side, engaged in battle with some sort of white fox, and he turned around as if to go and help her.

{Jeremiah quickly turns and fires, wounding the shifter, but the both of them fall to the ground. Aiming his gun in Armin's direction, he shoots one of the vampire assailants in the knee, then turns back to the shifter, finishing it off.}

(Aggron)

Armin lifted his empty hand briefly in a sign of gratitude when Jeremiah shot one of the enemy vampires, then quickly returned to fighting off his other opponent. Their swords clashed together several times, slashing and parrying with speed that exceeded most humans, before Armin got lucky and slit open the other vampire's throat, causing them to collapse unconscious.

'He's not dead,' he said grimly. 'But he'll be out for a while.'

(I should probably go now, it's pretty late. Since as I'm taking a break next week, we'll continue the following Saturday if everyone's fine with that.)
