Gael may be crazy, but there are some things that keep him from being insane around people.
He's gotten a few visits from Ojii before, and he seemed to be sane while he was there.
That isn't to say he isn't dangerous, but he's not as scary as he seems when behind bars.
BTW he calls everyone he doesn't know a "kid" or a "child".
