Some small tips/advice on drawing ponies (and horses).

1.
When drawing a pony's face, add some guidelines to structure the muzzle and prevent drawing the eyes on it. A lot of "wonky" looking pony faces come from the eyes being drawn where the muzzle should be (and the muzzle being drawn sideways.)

2.
Horses' necks connect to the back of the head in the way that I drew above. Their necks have an outward slope to them. They don't slope inwards!

3.
Horses' bellies stick out farther than you think. Unless you draw a pony from a side view, the inner line for the leg won't be visible.
(I used to make this mistake pretty much every time I drew horse bodies from those angles. lol)

4.
Horses don't have hairlines like humans do. Their forelocks and mane grow from the center of the top of their head and down the center of the back of their necks. You'll have to make a few adjustments to a human hairstyle when drawing it on a horse. That is, if you're going for a more realistic and believable style on horses. :P

*smash bros announcer voice* Informative!

But for real, going to keep this bookmarked. Notes 2&3 are why I'm supposing my ponies look weird XD

Hehe. I do the human hair mane thing all the time XD. I need to try actually trying to stick to what a real Ponies hair would go .w. Silly me. Thanks for the Tips!!!
