A Vaseterm can pick a mate one they hit a physically mature age, this is between early twenties too let twenties, it is when they stop physically growing, even though they are physically mature they are still considered 'Foal' ( colt for male, filly for female) until their 500 year, this is because they are not mature in other ways, they are still in the learning process of their abilities for their power's and Magic, along with their emotions and instincts,

Vaseterm are renowned to be very good looking, this also pass down to the other silver Bloods.
it's not uncommon for other species to find them attractive, and Silver blood tend to be naive or cold towards the individual that showing interest in them if they themselves do not have intimate Feeding for that individual.

Because of their strong dedication to their mate, in the old days it was looked down for a Vaseterm to pick a mate outside their own species.

Vaseterm have a very long life span, and most other species do not live as long. a lost of their lover can hit the Silver blood hard sending them into the in 'Unless Mourning' the Silver blood will seclude themselves from others, they are viewed by others as hallowed husk of their grief and Mourning.in their sorrow they will neglect themselves refusing or only doing the bare minimum of eating, drink or sleep even soaking in moonlight. Depending on the individual this can go on the rest of their life. A Silver blood can eventually come out of this state but they are never the same, Females are generally better of overcoming the Unless Mourning then Male's are, if the Silver blood has offspring they will focus on the care taking of their children, even though out the Generations of their Kin.

Fun fact: Though it is look down on picking a mate species outside the Vaseterm people,, Lady Victoria did, but in doing so she has a mix reputation by many of her own kind (expecially the older​ ones)

Silverbloods​ have a protective instinct that is called the 'Eclipse'
(There will be a individual lore pic on this topic)

This instinct is revolved around their Kin, Clan, friends Exe... But the Silver blood is the most dangerous when it comes to their lover, Silverblood have been known to kill and even start war's over there mate.
(Male's tend to enter the Eclipse more often and have less control over it then females do.)

When a Silver blood is in the Eclipse they will black out and not stop until the threat to who or what ever there protecting is eliminated.
The silverblood lover is the best one to claim them and get them to stop when they are in this phase.

Their is also the 'Dark Mourning' this can happen when the Silver blood Lover dies of unnatural causes, they can lose themselves in a mixture of sorrow and grieving blinded by the Eclipse they lash out at anyone or anything.

The only Vaseterm that seems to not follow this is Omen
he tend to mock it
