OK, I'm gonna start with something before this turns into a complete train wreck. XD

(Anyone)

Arminus left Count Sargon's safe house and wandered over to the little bar on a familiar street corner. This was where he came frequently at night, and also the same place he'd first encountered Tochi.

Outside the childrens' home, a pack of vampire scouts sent out by Sargon to investigate the area were lurking around suspiciously. Most of them kept to the shadows, but were still visible if anyone looked closely enough.

Tochi looked at Sheldon. "Hey, do you... have any idea what time it is?"

Jed carried the fish around the room in a circle 3 times before throwing it to Tobias, expecting the german shepherd to catch it.

(Draco)

Sheldon had been gazing wistfully at the window, but jumped and looked around when Tochi spoke. 'Ummm... It MUST be night-time by now?' he ventured uncertainly. 'It's quite hard to tell in here.'

"Oh, well, maybe we should get some sleep. Is there a bed in here?" Tochi got up and explored the room.

Crowley was standing on a low rooftop after escaping from Dianne, impatiently waiting to see if Finy would also flee with him.

(Draco)

'A... a bed?' Sheldon blinked in confusion. 'Oh... I-I don't think I can actually sleep here anyway. I'm too scared to be tired.' He said the last part in a quiet mumble.

"Oh." Tochi said again. "We can stay up, if you want - maybe there are, I don't know, some playing cards."

(Draco)

'Hmph. I don't think those nasty... vampire people would've left us anything for entertainment.' Despite being too scared to sleep, Sheldon wandered around the room in search of a bed. He wanted Tochi to have somewhere comfortable to rest, at least.

Just then, a vampire guard opened the door and entered with a large plateful of sandwiches, which he deposited on the table before walking out again.

He slides forwards to catch it, but then realises that he's stuck, his back legs still in the armchair while his front legs dangle a couple inches off the ground. He whimpers a little, the fish in his jaws looking a lot happier than he does. Ango tries to hide a laugh.

One of the vampires patrolling the exterior of the childrens' home called his friend over and started talking in a fast whisper.
'There's a lot of kids here, both humans and other beings. Do you think the boss would want us to, y'know... go in and check this place out?'

Tochi eyed the sadwiches. "...Cheese sandwiches and peanut butter sandwiches?" She took a peanut butter one, and passed a cheese one to Sheldon.

@King
Jed gave a bark that sounded distinctly like a laugh, however he ran to help his friend. He had the fish, after all.

'Do you think the boss would want us to steal some kids?'

(Draco)

Sheldon perched on the edge of a chair and ate slowly for a while. '...So,' he said finally, 'this HAS been a not-very-nice day, hasn't it?'

(Draco: Was that a reply or are you just making fun of the vampires stealing kids)

"Correct." Tochi took another sandwich, this one cheese. "Y'know, when a lot of weird things happen, you start to wonder if you're dreaming. Sadly though, I don't think we are."

(just making fun of vampires)

(Draco)

Sheldon gave a small, tremulous laugh. 'I wish we were...' he said under his breath while finishing his sandwich. He fixed his gaze on the still mostly-full plate, too nervous to eat anything else. 'So, uhm, that Arminus man... he's the one you met before?'

One of the other vampires shrugged. 'I suppose so,' he said. 'Who knows? Maybe we can even bring some back to the safe house. You know the Count wants all humans in the city converted - or killed.'

Tochi nodded. "Yep, he's honestly quite polite and helpful for a vampire. It's a shame the rest of his kind are so determined to stick to their plans."

(Draco)

'He must be faking the so-called 'politeness',' said Sheldon. 'He MUST be.' He suddenly paused, realisation flickering across his face. 'Tochi... what if HE was the one who told these people to kidnap you? Since as, well, he already knew who you were...'

He wiggles around slightly as he gets assisstance from Jed, keeping a grip on the fish.
Ango walks to a window and draws the curtains, but pauses for a second and looks out. Shaking her head, she closes them, ignoring what she thought she saw.

Tochi stopped, sandwich halfway to her face. "What? No, he... he couldn't have done." she shook her head, but she knew that Sheldon could be right. "Got to be a coincidence. Probably..."

Not noticing Ango fiddling with the curtains in the corner, Jed succeded in pulling Toby out of the chair.

'Alright,' said the first vampire. 'You wait here - I'll go in and investigate.'
'Alone? Why?'
'Because I have a plan.'

The vampire quickly shapeshifted himself into a black Labrador dog. Grinning toothily at his friend, he sent a telepathic message at them before turning towards the window of the childrens' home.

//After seeing how many filthy mongrels are in here already, I think I can blend in perfectly like this.//

But one dog is evil dog.

'It might NOT be,' said Sheldon insistently. There was a muffled thump from downstairs, making him nearly jump out of his chair. 'A-anyway, I think you were right earlier. We should find somewhere to sleep. If I can get to sleep at all...'

"I guess so. If we can't find a bed, we'll have to use the couch." Tochi finished her sandwich and started looking for a bed, or any kind of blankeys to sleep on.

He yips a thanks, dropping the fish and nudging it towards Jed, his tail wagging.

Sheldon reluctantly left his chair and set about investigating the place again. 'Oh!' he suddenly exclaimed. 'There IS a bed after all, apparently.'
He pulled aside some curtains that had been dividing off one corner of the room, revealing a narrow single bed and an empty beside cabinet behind them.

Hey, my wifi's down. Probably going to miss this today. Typing this on a borrowed phone.

The vampire-turned-Labrador, whose name was Rufus, climbed through an open window and cautiously sniffed the air as he advanced into the building. The hallways were mostly empty at this time of night, and the few people who walked past didn't seem too bothered by the lone dog.

Jed picked up the fish, and then went to trot in circles around the room again.

(Hey Aggron, it's OK if you can't join today. I don't know how we'd continue what we were doing anyway, since as Kole and Blood aren't here.)

"Great!" Tochi smiled. "It's only a single bed though, so you can have it and I'll take the sofa."

(Draco)

Sheldon squinted at her a bit suspiciously. 'What?! I can't take the bed while you sleep on that horrible-looking couch. I was only LOOKING for a bed so that you could have it!'

(Hey, what room are Ango and the dog guys in right now? I forgot at some point. XD)

"Oh, fine... thank you." Tochi hugged Sheldon tightly. "If you want to talk to someone, just come and wake me up. Alright?"

He bounces around a little, waiting for the fish to be thrown again.
Ango picks up a discarded drawing pad, covered in doodles in crayon and pencil. She smiles fondly, turning to a clean page and taking a pack of coloured pencils.

(Draco)

Sheldon squeaked in surprise. 'Uhm... y-yes, of course! I mean, yes, I will. Wake you up, that is.' He shuffled away and sat down on the edge of the couch. He had no intention of sleeping, but he knew Tochi wanted to get some rest, so he figured he'd just stay quiet and let her.

( @Radiant they're in a games room, which would be the last room from the front door on the left? idk it's near the kitchen XD)

Jed threw the fish as high as he could, watched as it nearly hit the ceiling and waited for Toby to catch it.

Rufus slunk down the hallway, ears pricked to ensure no-one was sneaking up on him. He was sure he'd be safe here, nobody would guess he was a vampire... unless, of course, they saw his crimson eyes and put two and two together.
Reaching the end of the hall, he glanced briefly into the kitchen, which was dark and deserted by then. Then he turned to stick his head into the next closest room.

Tochi got into the bed and closed her eyes, thinking about the day's events and how she'd get out of this situation. Maybe Armin wanted to help her, maybe he has betrayed her, maybe she'd become a vampire or just die...
She fell asleep.

Sheldon lay back uncomfortably on the sofa and listened to Tochi's breathing, the slow even breaths signalling that she'd drifted off already. Suddenly feeling very alone in the world, he shivered and kept his own eyes wide open, staring up at the ceiling.

He runs towards the landing place of the fish, jumping to grab it. The thump of him landing would be loud enough for the intruder to hear and alert them to their presence

Jed ran off to the other end of the room and waited for the fish to be thrown again.

("saw his crimson eyes and put two and two together" boi Jed has red eyes and no ones figured that out yet)

Hearing sounds emanating from the games room, Rufus bared his teeth and tentatively advanced inside. Once he was through the door and noticed Jed and Toby playing, his ears pricked up with excitement. //Haha!// he thought triumphantly. //I'm sure they'll happily welcome one more dog in their stupid party.//
He gave a gruff bark to get their attention.

(apparently dogs with red eyes are a completely normal thing in this city)

(King: I guess everyone in this world must be very unobservant. XD)

After about twenty minutes of lying there rigid as a plank of wood, Sheldon let out his breath in a shaky sigh. //I'm no safer awake than asleep, so I might as well sleep...//
With effort, he closed his eyes and tried to relax. Funnily enough, he was more tired than he'd realised and fell asleep within moments.

Trotting to the back of the room, Toby takes a slight run up and throws the fish towards Jed.
Meanwhile, Ango begins to roughly draw the two and the fish, smiling slightly.

Jed turned to look at the new arrival in curiosity. First he thought that it was just another dog who had gone for a walk, but then he saw the red eyes and yipped loudly in shock.

Rufus took another cautious step into the room, his tail hanging down low and his ears pressed back, giving every impression of being a scared lost dog.

Ango jumps at the bark, turning towards the new dog and sliding out from her seat a little. Toby growls, knowing that Rufus isn't a familliar dog.

Hearing Toby's growl, Rufus began to advance on the German Shepherd, the fur on his neck rising threateningly. He didn't look at Jed long enough to notice he had red eyes too...

Jed padded towards Rufus and sniffed him. Wanting to know if what he assumed was correct, he send a telepathic message to him. //What might you be doing here? Do you have an owner too?//

Only a few minutes after he'd fallen asleep, Sheldon let out a strangled yelp of terror and sat bolt upright on the couch, staring around wildly.
//Nobody's there, you fool... It was a dream...//
He shivered and leaned back against the couch, too unnerved to go back to sleep in case he had another nightmare. He didn't have them often, but since they'd been snatched off the street and dragged into this strange house to be held prisoner, he'd been jumping at everything.

(DRACO WHY ARE THERE FIREWORKS GOING OFF OUTSIDE)

Tochi woke at the sound of Sheldon crying out. "Sheldon? Are you okay?" She asked, sitting up in bed.

Ango stays still, raising a finger to where her lips should be to signal that they should stay quiet about her. Something about the strange dog made her feel uneasy, and it wasn't just because of the sudden appearance of it.
Toby glares disapprovingly at him, moving so Rufus would keep his gaze away from Ango.

IT'S A SPECIAL DAY! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY? MAYBE.

Rufus looked like he was about to leap at the German Shepherd, but then Jed's telepathic message reached him and he stiffened in surprise. Suddenly remembering not to give himself away, he sat down and stared mutely at Jed, wagging his tail uncertainly. He didn't use his telepathy, because then they'd know for sure he was a vampire.

Sheldon bit his lip and gazed in the direction of Tochi's voice, barely able to see her in the semi-darkness. 'Y-yes, everything fine! Sorry to disturb you!' he replied, too high-pitched to sound convincing.

Jed made a small 'hrmm'. //Could be a vampire, could not be. But what is he doing here? Hopefully he doesn't intend to disturb our peace.//

"Did you have a nightmare?" Tochi called over to him. "It's fine, you're not going to get hurt. I promise."

He lets out another, short growl. The labrador couldn't have gotten in through the door, so the only way was if another kid brought him in or if he got in through a window.

Rufus let his tongue hang out as he stared at the other two dogs, suddenly worried they might attack him on the spot. Making sure not to let Jed hear, he directed a telepathic message at the vampires waiting outside. //I've found a human and a potential vampire. Come in after me, and we'll take them all down.//

Then he lay down on the floor and whined, trying to make himself seem more like a normal dog.

(Sorry all my comments are so long. XD)

Sheldon fidgeted nervously on the sofa. 'It was nothing important, I... I just had a dream about when we got kidnapped earlier. Except, in the drean...' He trailed off, not wanting to say what he'd seen in his nightmare.

Seeing that he's now laid down, Ango takes her chance and begins to edge out of the room, trying to act natural.

Abruptly, Rufus got to his feet and slid sideways to block the doorway, not leaving any room for Ango or the other dogs to escape. His jaws fell open in an unnatural grin.

Ango stops abruptly, swallowing hard.
"Nice doggy."
Toby growls loudly, pacing toward Rufus.

"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, just... try to forget about it." Tochi paused to yawn. "You need rest, and so do I."

Again, Jed stepped closer to Rufus and sent him a message. //Trying to keep us stuck in here? Are you calling all your friends to join you?// He started to growl like Toby.

"Stay back you two. I don't want you getting hurt."
She says, trying to stay calm. Toby simply continues to growl, planning to begin barking to alert the household if anything else happened.

Rufus showed his glistening teeth at the two dogs and responded to Jed's message, no longer bothering to keep his own secret. //Yes, actually, I am. And your little human friend is about to die. I suggest you leave, unless you want to go the same way.//
As he 'spoke', several tall figures loomed out of the shadows behind him, also blocking the doorway. Vampires, in their real forms.

Sheldon whispered back, 'I know. But I'm... I'm scared.' He hung his head wearily. 'You know I'm a pathetic little coward.'

(I'll probably have to go soon-ish! I'm not sure yet.)

Toby leaps in front of Ango, barking fiercely in hopes of waking someone up so they could help, or call the police. Ango scrunches her hands into fists.
"Stay back."

(had to use "scrunches" because "ba.lls" is banned -_-)

Jed looked at Toby, wishing he could talk to the normal dog and tell him what was happening. He replied to the silent message, //No thank you. I'd rather fight. My friend is innocent, and I won't let her be killed at such a young age. Come at me, or get out.//

(King: Haha. XD I'd probably have written it using uppercase i's instead of l's.)

People, mostly kids, around the building began to wake up and head towards the games room to investigate, but the vampire pack had already blocked off the entire door and surrounding hallway, so they wouldn't be able to get through if they tried.

One of the vampires, whose name was Jerald, stepped forwards and smiled slightly. 'Hello there. Such a shame you just have a couple of dogs to protect you.'

//Quiet down, you little mutt,// responded Rufus. //Before I decide to tear your muzzle off.//

"Such a shame you only have one."
She retorts, stepping back.
Toby seems conflicted, not knowing whether to jump at the oncoming vampire or jump at the group to clear a way for the others.

//Really? Careful, don't wanna get your neck broken.//
And, without thinking, he shifted into his human form. The same red eyes, with curly shoulder-length black hair and a long navy blue coat. "I could shred you in dog form or shred you in human form. What'll it be, buddy?" He withdrew a silver dagger from his coat pocket.

Rufus, still in his Labrador form, pounced on Tobias, pushing the other dog away and trying to lock his jaws around his neck. He was too busy attacking him to notice Jed's transformation, but Jerald certainly did.

He smirked and turned to address Ango. 'Look at that - your new friend is a vampire himself...'

Toby backs up, batting him with his paws and clamping his jaws around his ear.
Ango gasps at Jed's transformation, but tries to keep a calm mind.
"Yeah, but he's my friend! And a bunch of idiots like you can't defeat all of us!"
At that moment, one of the young shapeshifters in the hallway barrels into the group, transforming into a large fox.

'You consider him a friend? Really?' Jerald laughed, then drew a long dagger from his belt and turned to face Jed. 'Since as you're so keen to fight... Come on, then. Fight me.'

Rufus yelped and rolled out of the way of Toby's teeth, before growling and leaping at him again.

Several of the vampires snarled and jumped aside as the fox appeared, unsure whether it was an intruder or one of their own army.

The fox shifter bites the nearest enemy arm, answering their collective question.
Ango moves quickly, attempting to pull Rufus off of Toby, who tries to stop her from being bitten.

The vampire who'd been bitten stumbled back in surprise, while one of his comrades transformed herself into a large wildcat and stalked forwards to shove the fox back.

Rufus disengaged from Toby for a few seconds to leap away and snap threateningly at Ango's arm.

Jed looked at Ango and Toby, silently wishing them luck, then he rushed at Jerald and aimed a slash at his chest.

Jerald parried Jed's slash with his own dagger, then quickly lunged at him with a stabbing blow towards his shoulder. 'You've picked the wrong person to get in a fight with, boy,' he cried tauntingly.

(Jerald & Jed)

Jed leapt to the side, the knife just catching his sleeve and ripping it. "Oh, dear - this cost so much." He said casually, before swiping again at Jerald's arm.

Jerald scowled in annoyance as he took a shallow cut across the arm, then unexpectedly lashed out with his foot at Jed's ankle, trying to either slow him down or trip him up.

In retaliation, she hits Rufus on the nose, while Toby makes an attempt to pull him back.
In the hall, someone had managed to find a broom and was trying to beat the vampires back, another shapeshifter joining the fox.

Jed stumbled and nearly toppled over, having to grab the arm of a chair to steady himself.

'Got you now!' Jerald sprung towards Jed, preparing to take advantage of his momentary stumble and severely wound him. Suddenly he hesitated, cocking his head and glancing towards the doorway, as if he'd just noticed the amount of fighting going on out there.

And that wasn't all. Outside the kids' home, sirens could be heard as police cars drove up, officers with vampire-killing weapons piling out and running inside the building.

'Dammit!' cursed Jerald. 'We can't stay here. Leave these pieces of filth - let's go. Now.'

He shifted himself into a grey wolf and leapt out of an open window, all the other vampires dashing after him. This left only Rufus, who'd been temporarily stunned by Ango hitting him.

(I gotta go in a few minutes!)

Jed got back to his feet, relieved. "Hah... out they go... should we let this one go too?" He looked distastefully down at Rufus.

(Hey guys, I gotta go for a few minutes. If my wifi is still on when I get back, I'll reply, but otherwise this is it for tonight. X))

"Well, he'll be able to tell all his buddies that he get beaten by a girl."
She laughs lightly, then turns to Rufus.
"We'll let you leave. But if you ever come back again, all this and more will be waiting for you."
Toby growls too, a few angry faces peering into the games room.

(ango, ten seconds later: wAIT YOU'RE NOT A DOG I FED YOU DOG FOOD I'M SO SORRY QAQ)

Rufus staggered upright and glared hatefully at Ango. Without shifting to the his normal form, he ran to the window and jumped down in pursuit of his allies.

In the hallway outside, some of the police were talking to the shapeshifters about what just happened.

(OK, I'm here for the moment, but my wifi gets turned off sometime soon so I might disappear suddenly. XD)

(Actually, maybe we should just stop here? Since as it's getting pretty late and everything.)
