Everything's going OK, though I completely forgot about this RP until an hour ago and couldn't finish the cover in time. XD

@Radiant That's ok, I don't mind the cover art. I'm looking forward to today's RP. I wonder creepy vampire thing is going to happen today. XD

(Aggron) I'm definitely in a position right now to make creepy vampire stuff happen, with Sheldon and Tochi kidnapped by Sargon. XD

"I'm not sure what we're meant to be doing," Tochi whispered in Sheldons's ear. "I suppose we're going to be questioned or something... I just hope that boy that got attacked is OK now. Do you think he was used as bait to lure unsuspecting humans towards the non-humans?"

Sheldon opened his mouth, but before more than a slight squeak had gotten out, Count Sargon interrupted them.

'My assistant Arminus will be back soon with some refreshments. Then we can sit down and properly discuss everything - including the reason I brought you here.'

He settled down comfortably on a large green armchair next to what looked like an unlit fireplace.

(*aerial I think?)

(Kole: I forgot about the RP, am half-watching Doctor Who, and preparing to eat Easter eggs tomorrow. That's about it. XD)

(Kole: Want to carry on with Ivy/Asher?

I'm also hoping to get Crowley more involved again, so if anyone needs someone to interact with, let me know and I'll throw him your way.)

Sorry I dropped off the map, I had to eat. I'll participate now.

{Dianne looks at Maisara and smiles.}"Ok then, name your price."

"Thank you for... providing refreshments, sir. I'm a little thirsty." Tochi thanked Sargon, dipping her head slightly. "I have met Arminus before, actually..."

(Draco)

Sargon raised one eyebrow, which was the only part of him that moved. 'Really? Tell me where you saw him and what happened afterwards,' he said in a faintly commanding tone.

(Kole)

Ivy put a hand to her chin and pretended to think for a moment. 'Nope, never!' she replied with a smirk. 'What, are you telling me you don't even realise how cool you are?' She nudged him playfully in the ribs with an elbow. Her gaze remained fixed on the street ahead, where she could see her house not too far into the distance.

{Dianne raises an eyebrow at Maisara.}"Oh, really? That's unusual, given that it was already on display. Very well, I suppose that's fair. At what time tomorrow should I return?

Crowley was sitting on the roof of some building he'd climbef onto, his feet dangling over the edge, watching the western horizon. The sun was already starting to go down; once it got dark he'd be able to have some real fun.

{Meanwhile, Jeremiah leaves the old mansion premises. He had given his statement to the police, along with the descriptions of the shifters involved in the kidnapping. He begins to make his way home, lost in thought.}

(Kole)

Ivy halted, standing on a street corner. 'Yes, it is,' she replied. 'I guess you'll want to go back to your own place now?' She grinned a little and added, 'It's not like last night, you don't have to walk me home... unless you want to, of course.'

{Dianne sees Maisara's scowl, and responds with a frown.}"Alright, I will. Is there a problem with that?"

(Aggron)

From the shadows underneath a shop building, a single vampire eyed Jeremiah walking past. //He's a human,// he thought. //Wandering around all alone, when it's nearly sundown... how painfully stupid.//

"I was looking for a bar, where I could wait for my parents to get home, and he came over to me and offered to walk with me. So I agreed and we went there together, and we took a table and made small talk." Tochi told the vampire. "Then my parents arrived and I left him there." She now realised she'd been a little stupid - walking to a bar with a complete stranger at night?

(Draco)

Sargon was motionless as silent while Tochi recounted the event. When she finished, he nodded, his face calm as usual. 'I see. That does not seem unusual behaviour for him... though not necessarily the behaviour I want to hear about.'
He glanced at the petrified Sheldon for a moment, then back at Tochi. 'Maybe you should reassure your companion, before he decides to have a heart attack and die?'

*and silent

{Jeremiah walks past the vampire without a second thought. He's aware of his presence, but pays him no heed. //They were in the building, but then they weren't.....Teleportation perhaps? But that's so rare. Invisibility maybe? No, the premises had a muddy yard. They would have left footprints....//}

(Kole)

Ivy heard Asher's sigh and looked up at him, folding her arms. 'What did I say about being so miserable all the time?' she scolded him. 'And things aren't THAT dangerous, at least not for you. It's the humans getting murdered everywhere, remember?'

(Aggron)

The vampire left the shadows and pursued Jeremiah along the street, his footsteps making virtually no sound on the tarmac. //Boss made it clear what we should do if we ever encountered a lone human, especially when dark is falling,// he thought, grinning evilly.

{Dianne walks past Maisara, eyeing him with distrust.}"Alright, I'll just be leaving then."{She proceeds to walk out the door.}

"Ah." Tochi looked at Sheldon, who looked like he was about to wet himself with fear. "Sheldon, it's fine, I'm pretty sure we're not going to get hurt. OK?" She put an arm around him and smiled reassuringly.

(Kole)

Ivy leaned against a streetlamp and looked up at him. 'So, are you coming back to my place or going home?' she said a little impatiently. 'It's getting a tiny bit cold out here, in case you hadn't noticed.'

'Th-that's what you say,' Sheldon responded just loudly enough to heard. 'But we're stuck in a room full of MAGICAL CREATURES for crying out loud! Aren't you even a little bit... well... worried?!'

During his small rant, Sargon stood up elegantly and walked towards the doorway that led to the kitchen.

{Jeremiah kept walking for a while. Suddenly, he stops in the middle of the street. He reaches into his coat, pulls out a cigarrete, and lights it. Taking a few puffs, he turns to face his pursurer.}"I don't know what business you have following a fellow through the streets at night, but I'd appreciate it if you stopped."

(Kole)

'That's fine by me,' replied Ivy, feeling slightly disappointed without really knowing why. 'Just look out for yourself, OK? I know I'm the one who just said the 'non-humans' are safe out here, buuut... you can never be too careful.'

(Aggron)

The vampire paused, about twelve feet away, and stared at Jeremiah. 'You've got some nerve for a weakling human walking around in the near-darkness,' he said. 'I bet you don't have a clue what's really going on in this city, do you?'

"A LITTLE bit worried," Tochi admitted, "but Sargon seems nice, and he's the one who tells the other creatures what to do."

(Kole)

'See you, too,' replied Ivy, setting off towards her house. Before she could get more than five steps away, she suddenly hurried back and threw her arms around Asher in a brief embrace. 'Nice hanging with you,' she said quietly, winking at him before walking away, not coming back this time.

{Jeremiah raises his eyebrows at"weakling".} "Weakling?" {Jeremiah chuckles a little.}"No, I don't know what's really happening in this city. Care to fill me in, pal?"

(Anyone)

With true nightfall only a few minutes away and the sun low in the sky, Crowley stood up on the roof and stretched his arms, yawning despite not being tired. 'Finally. God, I hate the daytime. Nothing interesting ever happens.'

Suddenly, the air seemed to distort around him and his figure morphed into that of a black-and-white dragon with sleek feathered wings. Grinning, he leapt off the roof and glided over the city, looking for some way to cause trouble.

(Aggron)

'I'm not that stupid,' the vampire hissed. 'I'm not going to tell you anything. But you don't need to know anything. The way things are panning out right now, I wouldn't be surprised if you're dead in less than a week.'

(Draco)

'NICE?' Sheldon spluttered, but before he had a chance to continue, Count Sargon himself re-entered the dining room and sat down in his chair.

'Take a seat,' he said simply, indicating the two other armchairs conveniently placed in front of him.

Arminus also emerged from the kitchen and walked in, carrying two cups of tea which he set down on a table between all the chairs. He didn't look at Tochi.

{Dianne continued to walk towards the mansion, hoping to see what the commotion was about, but, when she arrived, it was too late. The mansion was closed off and everyone left. A little annoyed that she missed it, she begins to walk home. //Eh, maybe Jerry can tell me something tomorrow.//}

(I used the word 'chairs' too much in that)

Crowley swept over the roofs of several building until he caught sight of a solitary figure walking below. He had a feeling that they weren't human, but couldn't be entirely sure. Curious, the crowdragon descended and landed in the road with a loud thump. 'Hey, what's up, random stranger?' he said lazily.

*buildings

{Jeremiah just smiled.}"So, there's a plot afoot that involves murdering humans at night. And apparently, I'm on the hit list too? Or, is every human in the city slated to be murdered?"

Ivy wandered slowly towards her house, lost in thoughts about her time spent with Asher - which wasn't the best idea, considering it was nearly dark and she was alone. But nothing seemed to be nearby or following her, so she let herself relax a little.

(Aggron)

'You'll just have to keep on wondering, 'cuz I'm not going to tell you anything I know,' the vampire replied mockingly. 'But let me ask you a hypothetical question, human - if I told you I was going to kill you, right here, right now, what would you do?'

(Kole)

''What the heII', indeed,' chuckled Crowley, sitting down and folding his large wings against his sides. Slitted yellow eyes watched Maisara unblinkingly. 'What, have you never seen a dragon before or something?'

{Jeremiah snorts.}"If you told me that, I'd ask why you'd do such a thing. I don't know you, and I'm sure I've never wronged you, so why would you want me dead?"

(Aggron)

The vampire shrugged and crossed his arms nonchalently. 'It wouldn't be a personal thing. If I decided to kill you, I'd be doing it because it was my job.'

Since it's getting dark, should they head back to the kid's home?)

'What's so stupid about landing here?' Crowley retorted. 'Last time I checked, I didn't need a license to go where I wanted.'

Tochi went to sit on her chair, keeping hold on Sheldon to make sure he did the same. Once she'd settled down she took her tea and sipped it. It was rather hot.

{Jerry gives a look of disbelief.}"Your job? Here's a question then: How much do you get paid per hit, and where can I sign up?"

(Draco)

Once everyone was settled, Sargon spoke up. 'First of all, I must make it clear that I cannot explain everything to you,' he said. 'Our plans - if I can call them that - are the greatest secret of our society. Currently, over 60 percent of Shacklestone's non-human population is under my command, and I hope to eventually gain the trust of all the others.'

He drank a mouthful of his tea, grimacing slightly as if he didn't like the taste.

'To put it simply, we are reclaiming Shacklestone.'

(Aggron)

The nameless vampire raised his eyebrows with a look of contempt. 'I don't get paid. The job I do... I do it for the benefit of my race. And you can't 'sign up' anywhere. You're a human.'

(Kole)

'Hey, no matter how much people hate my species, they're not gonna randomly pull a gun on me.' Crowley stretched his wings and flicked his tail back and forth. 'Besides, you're not human either - up close, you stink of magic.'

{Jeremiah gives a look of confusion.}"The benefit of your race? And I can't join because I'm human? Please don't tell me this is all just some pointless revenge on human kind over some imagined slights. Humanity is not your enemy."

(Kole)

Crowley got to his feet and gave pursuit, long talons clacking on the road. 'Oooh, the tough guy's gonna walk away from me,' he said mockingly. 'I thought we were going to have a nice chat for a minute there.'

Ango looks around.
"Oh, jeez, it's got dark really quick..."
Toby looks up at her, stepping back the way they came with an expectant look.
"Yeah, we should head back. There's no telling what sorts of people'll be coming out."
She looks to Jed.
"You got anywhere to go buddy?"

Mortikai steps out from an alleyway, the door to his home being located within (or, at least, the door he uses). He glances around before stepping onto the street, deciding to take a walk before heading inside for the rest of the night.

"/Reclaiming/ it?" Tochi repeated, scratching her head. "So it was once yours? I wasn't taught this stuff in school..."

Jed shook his head quickly. It wasn't completely a lie - he didn't have a proper home, he just found abandonded places to sleep. It would be better to stay with this new friend.

(Aggron)

Casually putting his hands in his pockets, the vampire stepped closer to Jeremiah and replied quietly, 'You don't know the real secrets of Shacklestone's history, do you? If you knew everything, then you wouldn't be so quick to say that. Some of us are older than the city itself - and WE remember what happened back then.'

(Kole)

'Yeah, that figures. You look like the kind of guy who doesn't have any friends,' said Crowley. 'You're not even gonna look at me while we're talking? That's rude.' He lunged forwards and nudged Maisara's shoulder with his muzzle, hard enough to make him stumble.

(Draco)

'I'm not in the least surprised to hear that,' said Sargon, staring at her over the rim of his teacup. 'The human race has done a good job at hiding Shacklestone's true history, enough that you can't read about it in any published books, or - indeed - in your schools.'

Behind him, Arminus dragged up another chair and sat down, not touching any of the refreshments. His eyes flickered between Sargon and Tochi, face showing no expression.

"Alright! It's settled then. I'm sure you won't mind sharing your food, ey Tobes?"
He snorts, looking offended for a second, but quickly nods goofily. Laughing lightly, she starts off jogging.
"C'mon!"

(Kole)

Pleased at finally getting some sort of attention, Crowley grinned and stepped directly in front of Maisara. 'Maybe you're just too scared to look at the big, scawy, nasty cwowdragon,' he said, putting on an annoying baby voice.

@Radiant
Tochi avoided looking at Armin, though she knew he was looking at her. "Why are they hiding the truth? Did they... do something to the non-humans? Oh dear."

@King
Jed woofed happily and trotted after Ango and Toby, his tounge sticking out sideways.

(Draco)

'It's a bit more than just 'doing something',' said Armin, his voice just a barely-audible rumble in the darkness. Sargon and the other non-humans all glanced up in surprise, having not expected him to talk. 'Centuries ago, Shacklestone was a rather different place...'

'That's enough,' Sargon interrupted him sharply. 'We will not tell them more than I had already planned to.'

(Kole)

Crowley yelped as he was pushed back, nearly colliding with a streetlamp. He sunk his talons into the road to steady himself and, once he'd recovered from the momentary shock, snarled angrily and leapt at Maisara in an attempt to knock him to the ground.

(Kole)

Grinning at his success, Crowley set his front paws on Maisara's chest to keep him from getting up again. 'Rule one - don't insult someone who's better than you,' he hissed, before a gleam of reflected light caught his attention and he looked away just in time to see the pocket watch fall out onto the road.

(Fast travel? Fast travel.)
Soon, from their speed, they were quickly back at the doors to the children's home. Ango tries the door, which doesn't budge. With a sigh, she pulls some keys from her jeans pocket and unlocks it, to which Toby shoots her an accusing look.
"What? I'm not knocking on the door like a lost kid anymore. Besides, it was just a matter of time before one of the others took them."
She opens the door for them.
"After you."

"So, the humans did something, something /bad,/ and you want Shacklestone back for yourselves?" Tochi frowned slightly in concentration. "Surely if you just TELL people to move out in a non-violent way..."

@King
Jed made a small noise of amusment as he entered the children's home. //I've never been in a place quite like this,// he thought. //I'd like to explore as much of it as I can.//

(Kole)

Crowley couldn't help noticing the way Maisara looked at the pocket watch, and when he started to use his magic to get it back, the crowdragon smirked and used his tail to sweep it even further away. 'What is this piece of cr.ap? Your lucky watch?'

(Back!) {Jeremiah eyes the vampire with caution as he speaks.}"You know what they say, history is written by the victors. That doesn't necessarily mean the truth. If you know something different from what I've been told, please, fill me in."

(Draco)

Sargon shook his head, the movement slow and condescending, as if he were talking to a very young child. 'It's not as simple as that. Do you really believe that the humans would give up their peaceful way of life for our sake? That they would surrender their entire city to us? It will never happen - they treat us like scum and refuse to believe anything they don't see with their own eyes. Haven't you ever even noticed the way your kind talks to ours?'

(Kole)

'It IS my business,' said Crowley. In a flash, he jumped off Maisara and lunged for the pocket watch, trapping it beneath one of his claws. 'How about I just grab this and fly away with it?' he suggested, grinning evilly.

{As Dianne was walking home, she heard a commotion. Curious to see what was happening, she walks over, only to find a dirty looking crow-dragon (Crowley) fighting with the store clerk she met earlier (Maisara). She stands there, watching from a distance, making no attempt to help either party.}

The vampire's lip curled with contempt. 'Sorry, but no. The boss has told me not to give away anything - and I won't be tricked into revealing our secrets to YOU.' He took a small step backwards, as if preparing to walk away.

(Kole)

Crowley's grin widened; if there was once thing he loved, it was doing exactly the opposite of what he'd been told. 'See ya,' he said simply, before scooping up the watch and taking flight - not intending to go far, but just wanting to see Maisara's reaction.

(I used to know loads of weird censors on here, but I forgot them all.)

Toby trots in, immediately heading for a room up the corridor on the left. He yips a little, and Ango quickly follows him. She enters the room, which is quickly recognised as a kitchen, and sees him nosing a plate on a counter, which has a small amount of food piled onto it. Tutting, she pulls him away gently and picks it up.
"At least someone cares enough to leave some for me."
She shrugs, then turns to place it on another counter.
"I'm guessing you guys are hungry, huh?"

(Kole)

Crowley didn't notice what had happened until he stopped to land on top of a high building. Dropping the watch on the roof, he looked back down and realised he couldn't see Maisara anywhere on the streets. //Surely the tough guy didn't just run away like a scared little girl?// he thought. Then he noticed the red glow emanating from the stolen pocket watch. Curiously, he tried nudging at it with his nose.

{Jeremiah just smiles pleasantly. //Idiot. You've told me so much already. Now I know that there's a lot more going on then just a psychopath running around. And I know where and when to look for you and your friends. Best lead yet.//}"Ok, pal. Going back to your boss?"

"...No?" Tochi said, sounding guilty. She looked at Sheldon flr a moment to check he wasn't about to faint.

(Aggron)

The vampire looked a bit suspicious at how Jeremiah suddenly stopped questioning him, but showed his teeth and walked away without a word, melting into the shadows of the buildings.

Once he was out of sight, he paused, closed his eyes and sent a telepathic message to Count Sargon - not an easy thing to do over such a distance.

//I've just met this guy. He looks like the one who helped the police break into your mansion earlier. Want me to take him down...?//

Jed nodded his head, eyeing the plate. //Of course, she needs it more than I do.//

{Dianne saw everything. //He's a spirit bound to the watch? How interesting.// Dianne starts running after Crowley as he flies and stops at the base of the building where he's perched.}

(That one cocky vampire who won't stop talking and gives away more than he was supposed to. XD)

(Draco)

Sargon let out his breath in something like a quiet sigh. 'Of course not. Very few people seem to actually be aware of how hostile the humans can be towards us... if not physically, then with words.' He stood up from his armchair. 'It's getting late and you must need to rest. Arminus will take you back to your room, and some food will be sent to you shortly.'

{Jeremiah watches the vampire leave. Discarding his cigarrette, he continues to walk home, reaching into his coat, as if to get another cig.}

(Kole)

'Wooah!' Crowley nearly threw himself off the roof in surprise when Maisara basically materialised from the pocket watch. 'That was awesome! Wait, what the heII are you?'

@Radiant
"Very well, Count Sargon," Tochi finished her tea and set the cup down on the table. "I /am/ tired." She stood and watched Sheldon do the same.

( @Radiant Heh, yeah. Sargon wouldn't be happy if he knew what he said, especially since he was talking to an investigator. X) )

(Draco)

Sargon inclined his head silently, surprised - though not showing it - by the girl's politeness. How could she not be terrified or furious when surrounded by creatures like him?

Meanwhile, Armin also stood up and headed out of the room, forcing Tochi and Sheldon along with him.

After they left, Sargon recieved the telepathic message from the vampire who'd spoken to Jeremiah. He was quiet for a few moments as he considered what he'd been told. Then, finally, he directed a message back.

//Not yet. He's proven to be quite an annoying interference. I want the chance to speak witn him face-to-face... before he dies.//

{It didn't take long for Dianne to scale the building . Walking up to the pair, she speaks.}"He's a Djin. And a very interesting variant at that."{Dianne says the last part while adjusting her glasses.}

(Aggron: Oh yeah, he definitely wouldn't be. Hopefully the vampire won't be stupid enough to tell him exactly how the conversation went. XD)

(Kole)

'HeII no,' said Crowley, letting out a harsh bark of laughter as he pinned the watch beneath his paw. 'Are you a ghost? Or a magical fairy? Or a genie? Oooh, do you grant wishes?!'

(Crowley's response was late, let's just say he didn't hear Dianne.)

(hey beans? I think I'm gonna head off if that's all right? Tochi went to her room anyway)

(Draco: I was gonna have her and Armin interact in some way, but I guess I could make him talk to her next time)

{Dianne watches the pair, curious to see what they'll do next.}

Crowley was distracted by Dianne's sudden appearance and turned to look at her, his paw still firmly on the pocket watch.

After taking Tochi and Sheldon back to 'their room' and locking them in (all without saying a word), Armin unhurriedly returned to the dining room. It was empty aside from Count Sargon; all the shapeshifters seemed to have been sent away. That was enough to make him tense slightly. It was usually never a good sign when the Count wanted to talk to him in private.

Toby stands next to Jed, tail wagging. Ango laughs lightly and reaches up to a shelf and brings down two metal bowls and places them on the counter. She opens a cupboard under the counter and drags out a large bag of (biscuits? kibble? idk), using a cup to measure out the correct amount for both of them. Swiftly, she places them on the floor nearby. Toby almost immediately dives into the bowl, making her laugh lightly.
"Settle down Tobes! It's like you haven't eaten for days."

{Jeremiah makes it to his office, walks into the door, and locks it behind him. Breathing a sigh of relief, Jeremiah proceeds to enter his archives room. Walking to the edge of the room, he moves a large filing cabinet aside. on the floor beneath it are two large cellar doors.}

(I'm going to have to leave soon, just so everyone knows!)

Sargon looked up as Armin entered the room. 'I only have one question,' he said calmly. It was the calmness that always put the younger vampire on edge, more so than if he'd been shouting. 'Why did you help that girl yesterday?'

Feigning nonchalance, Armin lifted one shoulder in a half-shrug. 'She needed it. And I can't go around snarling at every human I meet like most of our kind do - sometimes it helps to gain then human's trust, then shatter it later.'

{Dianne approaches Crowley.}"Hey, Birdbrain, just what do you plan on doing with that?" {She points to the watch.}

Crowley saw Maisara edging towards the watch out of his periperal vision. He pulled it out of reach and shot a nasty look at the genie-like thing. 'Nice try.'

(Aggron/Kole)

Crowley's head whipped around to look at Dianne again. 'Hey, how's that any of your business?'

(I have a picture of Crowley on my computer desktop that's been staring at me for the last hour)

(Hey King, I wanna get Mortikai involved with Crowley again next RP, they said they'd meet up tonight. X))
