Maru is a tamed beastwoman who's card was torn once her "tamer" thought she had lost her usefulness by gaining a humanish form. While living by herself, she learned how to take care of herself by way of healing magic.
She has various healing skills, a low level stun skill, and in her beast form has a basic tackle, bite, scratch. Her bite, while very weak does have a chance of adding the status bleed. (if that's ok, i imagine it takes 1 hp each turn)

If Maru is the last one left in a fight, her chances of escape increase and she can carry her fellow party members to saftey.
Her staff can shrink and remains on a chain when not in use. Supplies/inventory don't dissapper when she changes form.
She refers to young people as "kits" instead of kids and younger party members as "her kits", which she will defend.
