(Aggron) Sargon does have a plan in mind for that. He and his army are powerful enough to hold off most threats, but he's not planning to stick around and let them try. So yeah, I know what he's going to do, but not revealing anything yet.

(OK!) {Jerry picks the officer off the ground in a fireman's carry and sprints out the exit. The officers switch to their hand guns and back out of the exit, firing at anything that moves.}

(Kole: Yup, they were. XD I did the last reply for Ivy, you can see it if you check the end of the last session.)

Jerald, the ringleader of the gang of shapeshifters, snarled at the officers as they began to retreat. 'Get back!' he said warningly to his own comrades. 'They're running away, now get back and keep out the range of those guns.' Reluctantly the shapeshifters obeyed, slowly falling back inside the dark mansion.

(Kole)

Ivy giggled slightly at how confused Asher seemed, before finally releasing her hold on him. 'I'm your friend now, so I'm allowed to hug you whenever I like!' she said in an amused tone.

(Dracoooo get off your toaster (or not, I'm a roleplayer not a cop) and let's grab doggos and code kid)

Count Sargon opened his mouth to say something, but was abruptly cut off by the sound of gunshots downstairs. A second later one of the shapeshifters burst through the door, bowing hastily before saying, 'My lord, we're in trouble. We've driven the humans off for now, but they might come back with reinforcements.'
Sargon nodded curtly. 'Do you think I'm clueless? I already have a plan to deal with the situation; now go.'
The shapeshifter bowed again and ran out of the room.

Sensing his embarrassment, Ivy grinned and hit him playfully on the arm. 'Now we've got past all that serious conversation, let's talk about something... hmm... a little lighter.'

@Radiant
"Humans breaking in? Perhaps you should check if your army are all right," Tochi said politely to Sargon. "We'll wait up here for you."

{Dianne was sitting in her shop during a lull. Despite the store being empty, she couldn't help but feel that something was very wrong. Not long after, a multitude of police cars sped down the road past the front window. After a moment of deliberation, Dianne gets up and walks upstairs. She walks into a door with two suits of armor standing on either side. The inside of the room very ornate. If a customer were to walk in, they would not believe that they were in the same building. The walls are lined with rare and valuable artifacts, display cases line the perimeter, the floor is covered with a fancy rug, and an ornate bed sits in the center. Walking up to one of the cases, Dianne opens it and take a gold necklace encrusted with purple jewels. Sighing, she puts it on and zips up her jacket up to hide it. Only the chain is visible now. She then walks back down stairs and out the door, locking up on her way out.}

'Don't t-TALK to h-him!' Sheldon whispered nervously, gripping Tochi's arm with unnecessary force.

Sargon stared blankly at them for a moment or two, then said quietly, 'I'm sure my army are well enough. They have faced worse opponents than a few overconfident humans. I apologise for the discourtesy, but I must go and do something important. Leave this room even for a second and the guards will deal with you however they see fit.' With a swish of his cape, he walked out of the door.

Ango stays silent for a while, Tobias nuzzling her hand.
"...It ended four years later. Neither of us were in, and Ruscar was on the warpath. He went out on the streets and...a-and...attacked my mom."
She sniffles a little before continuing.
"Luckily, a lot of people were around. He was arrested quickly, but...not without the damage."

Ivy half-skipped alongside Asher. A few police investigators were gathered around at the other end of the park, but she didn't seem concerned by them. 'How about this?' she said. 'I know that you're not human... but what MAKES you not-human?' She slowed down a bit and narrowed her eyes in thought. 'I guess what I really want to know is: what kind of creature are you?'

"Yes, sir." Tochi called after Sargon, and when he'd left, she sighed quietly in relief. "OK, if we stay in this room we should be just fine."

Jed nuzzled Ango, trying to comfort her. //All of this will be sorted out one day, I'm sure. Hmm. Is there a cure for your mum's... issue?//

(Draco)

The moment he thought Sargon was out of earshot, Sheldon went berserk. 'HOW IS STAYING IN HERE GOING TO MAKE US OK?' he protested in a loud whisper. 'W-we'll probably be killed as soon as he comes back! I'd rather take my chances JUMPING OUT OF A SECOND-STOREY WINDOW!'

(scREECH-
I'm really sorry guys, but I'll be off now. Almost two hours I'll be gone q~q I'm sorry-)

(Alright King! Hope you can get back before we finish!)

{Jeremiah and the police stop running when they reach their cars. One officer tends to the wounded one while the others reload. Jeremiah lights up another cigarette while staring at the ground pensively.}
Officer one:"Da.mn monsters! As soon as the backup gets here, we'll get them back for wasting Smyth!"
Officer two:"I'm not going back in there! In case you haven't noticed, we just got our arses kicked, man!"
{The two continue to argue while the wait for back up.}

Ivy listened intently, her head cocked to one side. '...And your dad?' she prompted when he didn't immediately continue.

"Sheldon! Calm down!" Tochi gasped. "If we annoy them, we're even more likely to die! Please, let's just... do as we're told. No matter what happens, we WILL get out of this alive."

(No-one in particular)

Count Sargon swiftly walked downstairs and found himself faced with a sorry-looking collection of shapeshifters. Half of them were in their human forms, and two-thirds sported nasty injuries. He was sure at least one of them had been lost in the skirmish, but he put it to the back of his mind. He had no time to be angry, or to grieve.

'Listen well,' he said in his usual calm voice. 'Now this place has been unearthed by the humans, it is no longer our hideout. We will immediately relocate to another safe building.'

He turned away, raised his arm, and began drawing a strange complex pattern in the air with one finger. Magic swelled and filled the room, bringing with it a faint sense of unease.

Finy approached Maisara uneasily, "Uhm, I'm interested in selling" he says quietly, pulling some of the jewelry he took out to show him

"...At least it's over. Sorta. We've still got scars...both metaphorical and physical."
She stutters slightly while saying 'metaphorical', not too sure how to pronounce it.
"But hey! That's life."
Ango sounds a little more light-hearted now, as if talking about her past had lifted a weight off of her.

Sheldon gulped in a lungful of stale air and tried to do as she said. '...No we won't,' he said morosely. 'W-we're both going to die! All because I wasn't strong enough to fend off those awful shapeshifter things.'

'A demon?' Ivy thought about it, then shrugged lightheartedly. She'd heard weirder things about non-humans in the past. 'I guess I can believe that. But wow, your mum was TWENTY feet tall? Where did she live? Surely she couldn't hide anywhere in this city?'

Jed barked and tried to make an expression that would read, "That's the spirit!"
He added in his head, //And if I find that awful man I'll make him sorry.//

(Kole/Blood)

Crowley hung back as Maisara led Finy into the shop. //Nothing to sell, no reason to be here,// he thought. Smirking, he turned on his heel and wandered away up the street, leaving the two to talk alone.

"This is not because you were weak!" Tochi insisted. "Did you see ME fighting anyone? We're not in this situation because of you."

Finy turned his head to see Crowley leave, not really caring that he was, he followed Maisara inside, looking around, he could feel his heart racing with the fear of being found out, still.

"Uhm" Finy starts when he reaches the counter, "Wh-what can I get for this?" he pulls out all the jewelry and sets it down on the counter.

(Draco)

Sheldon chewed his lip and gazed towards the grimy window. 'Yes, b-but... I could have been more use. I could have at least TRIED to save you... I was too pathetic and cowardly to do anything.'

(Kole)

'Yes, I thought so,' said Ivy, nodding decisively. 'It must be nice there. I've never even been out of the city, except for some idiotic school trip when I was 12.'

Finy just nodded, looking back at the door, //Calm down fool, or you'll shift// he takes in a deep breath and holds it as he looks back to watch Maisara

(No-one in particular)

Suddenly, a great white vortex appeared in front of Sargon, seeming to tear the very fabric of space apart. He stepped back and gestured impatiently towards it.
'Get into the portal,' he said. 'It will transport us inside the other safe house I had planned.'

One by one, some of them looking doubtful, the surviving shapeshifters edged forwards and were swallowed up by the glowing vortex. When Sargon was the last person in the room, he turned and walked up the stairs to the room where Sheldon and Tochi were being held.

Tochi thought for a moment. "Well... it's not like you're normally forced to fight. Most normal people would be too afraid to act in a situation like that."

Finy blinked a few times, then nodded, "Sounds good"

(Draco)

Sheldon mumbled something incoherent in response. He was about to answer properly when, without warning, Sargon re-entered the room. He let out a strangled gasp instead and drew back to hide behind Tochi.
'You two, come with me,' said Sargon shortly, turning and heading back down the staircase.

{Dianne makes her way towards the outskirts of the city. On her way, she walks down the same street where Crowley and Finny are. Seeing Crowley in the distance, she ducks into the Jewelry shop, hoping to avoid the annoying bird man. Walking past Finnian, she pretends to browse the selection.}

Tochi gently squeezed Sheldon's hand and stood to follow the Count. "It's all right, let's just go," she whispered.

Finy frowned as he took all the jewelry, he stuck his hands in his sweater's pocket and waited nervously. He tried not to let his mind wander to bad scenerios, he just wanted his money and to be gone.

(Kole)

Ivy rolled her eyes. 'Oh, we just went to the little forest south of Shacklestone. We camped there for three nights while the teacher talked endlessly about how dangerous it was outside the city, and what we should do if we ever encountered a terrifying non-human.'

(Draco)

Sheldon was white-faced and shivering as he went down the stairs, stumbling once or twice and nearly dragging Tochi with him. When they got into the large main room and saw the portal, he froze and made a barely-audible noise of shock.
Sargon pointed a finger straight at the vortex.
'I have no time to explain everything now, but simply put, we're relocating to a safer place,' he said. 'Step through there. You will arrive at our destination in a heartbeat.'

Crowley sauntered down the street, hands in his jeans pockets, giving every impression of not having a care in the world. The sun was inching towards the horizon now; he was looking forward to nightfall so he could go and have some real fun.

{Suddenly, numerous police cars pull up to the entrance of the mansion and begin to create a perimeter. Discarding his cigarrete, Jeremiah watches as the police split into teams and prepare to attempt another breach from multiple entrances.}

Finy took his money, eyeing Dianne before nodding at Maisara, "Thank you" he quickly goes to leave the jewelry shop.

Tochi hesitated, watching the swirling portal in utter bewilderment. Then, slowly, she stepped inside.

(Kole)

Ivy shrugged, her expression changing from humorous to a bit sad. 'Well, not all the schools teach that sort of thing. And back then it was really unusual, because - well, these murders hadn't started happening yet. But I was unlucky enough to be stuck in a school where nearly everyone was horribly prejudiced towards the... other races.'

{Dianne looks up at Maisara, then to Finny. She raises an eyebrow from under her glasses when she notices how nervous he seems. //You'd think an ice dragon would be able to 'keep his cool' better.// Laughing slightly at her mental joke, she turns back to the display cases.}

(Draco/Aggron)

Sheldon let out a strangled scream and practically threw himself into the vortex after her, terrified of being alone with Sargon.

With everyone else gone, Sargon paused. He could hear the police trying to surround his mansion from the outside. Frowning a little, he sent a telepathic message directly into the head of the officer in charge. //You are wasting your time, arrogant humans.//
Then he swiftly stepped into the portal, which closed behind him, leaving no trace of its existence.

Finy got out of there and started down the sidewalk back to his place

Ivy absent-mindedly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. 'Well, at least you HAD an outlet!' she said brightly. 'And like I said before, you're amazing with art. I really hope you can go somewhere with it in the future.'
She glanced over at the police a distance off, narrowing her eyes as if only just noticing they were there.

(Kole)

'Hmmh,' said Ivy distractedly, watching the police officers. 'Hey, I'm gonna go and find out what they're talking about! Wait there a second, will you?' Without waiting for an answer, she hurried off across the park towards the officers.

{The teams breach the building and rush in, having heard Sheldon's scream. After an extensive search, the teams find only the bodies left behind from the first conflict. When they radio in that the premises were clear, no one from the first team could believe it.}Jeremiah:"What? That's not possible! There were at least twenty hostiles once we bugged out and we were watching the building the whole time! No one left!"
{The head officer takes off his hat, and speaks a little uneasily to Jeremiah.}"Well, let's be honest, they probably used some kind of devil-sorcery-wizardry. As it is, I think they might have used it to send me a message. I could of sworn I heard a voice telling me that our efforts were futile or something like that...."{Jeremiah frowns.}"Devil-sorcery-wizardry? It's called telepathy. Honestly, for being a police officer in a city with this high of a concentration of non-human population, you're incedibly ignorant to their ways of life an physiology."

(Blood?)

Crowley glanced over his shoulder and noticed, further back up the street, Finy walking away from the jewelry shop. Grinning mischieviously, he walked after the dragon shapeshifter. 'Hey, so you worked up the nerve to sell that stuff?'

{Deciding to wait a little longer, Dianne decides to have a little chat with the store clerk (Maisara).}"This is a nice place. Do a lot of interesting items come through here?"

Ivy strode purposefully up to the nearest policeman. 'Hey, you! What's all this about?! This is a PARK, not a training ground for stupid investigators or whoever you are!'

The officer cleared his throat and replied, 'Miss, I'm very sorry if we disturbed your walk in any way, but we're quite busy at the moment. There was another murder in the city a few hours ago. We heard rumours that a second body was found in the park, so we're required to carry out a thorough investigation. I strongly suggest you go home. It's not safe anymore.'

The portal spat out Sheldon, Tochi, and the group of shapeshifters in a small, well-lit dining room. This house was nicely furnished and surprisingly modern, a pleasant change from Sargon's derelict mansion.
Just then, a tall vampire stepped out of the shadows to greet them, the faintest smile playing at the corner of his mouth. 'Anyone fancy a cup of tea?'

(Draco: why you leaving)

{Dianne smiles.}"Really? Like what? Anything older than a century or two?

(Kole)

'Wait, another murder? Possibly SEVERAL murders? Why haven't I heard about this before?' Ivy growled.
The policeman started to say something, but she abandoned him, turning and sprinting back to the spot where Asher was waiting.
'Asher!' she hissed urgently. 'There's been another murder, apparently. We should get out of here - we're like the only people in this whole park, what if they think WE'RE involved?'

(yehh bye)

( @Kole) "Why, yes, I would like to see what you have in stock. Also, I would like to see what that white haired fellow brought in as well."

(Draco: nooooo - i mean ok
I still need to do some Sargon stuff, so Tochi will have to be a silent hanger-on for now.)

(Nobody)

'That sounds adequate,' came another voice, and suddenly Count Sargon appeared from the portal and walked forwards into the dining room. 'Arminus, do that now, if you please.'

The blond vampire's expression turned darker, but he slunk off into the kitchen without a word of protest.

'Now,' said Sargon, not turning to look at Sheldon, Tochi, or any of his minions. 'I think a nice bit of relaxation time is in order. Along with a proper explanation of what will be happening in the days to come.'

(Kole)

Ivy headed back towards the park exit, being careful not to walk too quickly or else she might appear suspicious. 'Sorry this didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped,' she said. 'I just wanted to have a walk... It seems like you can't be safe anywhere now.'

(I might have to end this soon, guys. Half of us aren't here, and anyway my wifi will switch off at some point. XD)

{Dianne follows Maisara into the back room. She looks around, intrigued by some of the items. She walks up to a display case with a very old and ornate gold choker. Suddenly, she stops smiling.}"This one's very old. I'm surprised it's here and not in a museum. This belonged to a line of kings in Ferros, that land that archeologists are just barely excavating now."{She turns to Maisara.} "Where did you get this?"

(Kole)

Ivy thrust one hand into her pocket and used the other hand to give Asher a bracing pat on the shoulder. 'Oh come on, it'll never get THAT bad. Despite everything that's going on, non-humans still have legal rights.' She glanced at the horizon, noticing the sun was sinking lower in the sky. 'I just wish we could end the prejudice, hatred and... racism completely.'

(Kole)

They reached the park gates, which Ivy pushed open. She grinned and held them open for Asher, intentionally mimicking his earlier gesture from outside his art shop. 'After you, handsome,' she chuckled.

(Kole)

'No problem at all,' said Ivy breezily, setting off along the sidewalk. 'And Asher? Let's try to forget all the chaos and crime around us, just for a little while. There's enough misery in the world without us adding to it. Let's just be happy that we're not dead or in jail for some murder we didn't commit.'

{Dianne looks Maisara over with a skeptical look.}"Tell me, did you know what this was when it came in, or did you think it was just somebody's grandmother's heirloom?"

(Kole)

'Yes, well, you ALWAYS look like you're just waiting for the end of the world to come,' replied Ivy with a slight smile. 'If I have to, I'm gonna do my best to make you happier.'

(Hey Kole and Aggron, I think I'm gonna head out now. If you two want to finish your interaction then that's fine. X))

'Who WOULDN'T want to spend their time with you?' Ivy replied without missing a beat, tilting her head and smirking up at Asher. 'You're about the coolest guy I've ever met.'

{Dianne picked up on his reluctance to answer the questions as to how the item fell into his possession and whether he recognized it or not. //Either it's stolen, which I don't care about, or, he's had it since Ferros fell, which is far worse for my case. The last thing I need is someone recognizing who I was back then.//}"Well, I've alway's had a great interest in history. Surely you can understand that I'd get a little excited when I see an artifact from such a mysterious land. Is it for sale?"

@Radiant In response to your question, no, Ferros is not important to the plot. Ferros is just a place where dramatic stuff happened a long time ago and it involved Dianne. I have no intention of introducing any new or additional plot lines. Ferros is exclusive to Dianne's backstory.

Also, Chatroom sounds good. I'll be looking forward to that.

Also, Ferros will be the setting of my RP this winter. Hopefully.
