The small Citrine sea vessel glided along the waves swiftly, creating long white streams of water that splattered as it went. From those who might catch a glimpse of the vessel, would note how it almost looked like a elegant bird gliding through the air. The small crew worked each station of the ship without commands from the skipper, for they were so well trained in their art that all of their duties on the vessel was almost second nature for them.

Lumen was training at the stern of the ship, facing a martial arts instructor from Affai, who was a master of the Ki-Kunzi naru. A martial art unique to Affai and its people.

(Lez see, if it during Lumen's time at the Cor-Anima, Then it would be about 8 years prior to the current timeline. That is where I would place it ^0^

Lumen sparred with his teacher, trying his best to land a strike successfully on his tudor, but to no avail. Even though Lumen was a prodigy amongst students, he could not best his master, who had hardened his technique over years of discipline. Their movements were strange. The art of Ki-Kunzi Naru was comprised of swift yet halting movements. At one moment the Ki-Kunzi Naru artist might lunge forward, but stop mid lunge in a defensive stance, then moments later continue their lunge or swiftly circle their opponent and swipe at the exposed back. Lumen's master took a step and wobbled before stalling, then taking another swift step and stalling again. Lumen did the same thing, they circled before clashing against one another. Palms striking air as each dodge their attacks. But eventually Lumen was caught off guard by his master's halting palm strike. It sent Lumen backwards onto the ground.

"Ughh....You win again master Tesu."

Lumen stood and bowed swiftly to the victor of the match.

The boat was approaching the Erulian harbor, gliding through the waves elegantly.

Lumen looked out over the railing, sipping a refreshing herbal water concoction.

As the boat approached the harbor, Lumen looked out to the soldiers patiently awaiting the arrival of his boat. Lumen thought to himself: "If it was not for the strings my mother pulled, I would not be able to see Erul in person. It really is a magnificent sight."

Lumen sighed aloud in anticipation as the ship started to dock. He was excited to meet his new master and learn a new fighting art.

The skipper of the vessel yelled to his crew. "In Oars! Prepare to dock! Wolf, Randal, lower the sails! Kailar prepare to lower the anchor! Ned, prepare to tie the ship to the harbor!"

Lumen watched the well trained crew dock the ship, they seemed do each task effortlessly, without flaw.

The ship docked, leaving small ripples as it lost its momentum.

Lumen bowed to his tudor, with genuine respect for the man.

"Farewell Master Fralis, thank you for all that you have done for me. I look forward to reuniting with you again after all of this is over."

Fralis bowed to his pupil.

"As do I, Lumen. Farewell for now, may we cross paths again."

Lumen bowed one last time before disembarking the vessel.

Lumen bowed to the two knights. Slightly embarrassed by their mistake of gender, for he had recently, upon being seen by people not used to elven style, been mistaken as a woman. (Only recently was Lumen being introduce to new people. And he was not yet used to being mistaken for a woman) He elected not to correct them, since he did not want to come across Impolite.

"Indeed I am, Th-thank you both, I shall do as instructed."

(No need to say sorry! I did not specify xD Its my bad for not explaining earlier ;-;)

Lumen nodded in thanks.

"Thank you all, I appreciate all the trouble you have gone through, but it is really not necessary to have so many guards...."

Lumen smiled warmly before continuing.

"I will definitely inquire about many things on the way, and indeed I will stay out of trouble. The ride will indeed be lovely, I always like seeing new places."

Lumen walked over to the carriage, stepped in and sat. Adjusting as he looked around to the guards surrounding the carriage.

Lumen studied both knights with interest. The two knights were either elites amongst their peers, or specifically granted the privilege to have their helmets off to make the guest(Himself) feel more comfortable during the long trek to the destination. Lumen nodded to each of them in greeting.

"I see, the length of the journey matters not to me. The gift of patience has been bestowed to me through many years."

Lumen smiled cunningly.

"You may regret giving me the option to ask questions, I often get carried away with my inquiries. But too late to retract your statement now. I will go ahead and start my first question. This route were taking, is it one that somehow goes around Sumner's path?"

Lumen was glad to have good conversational partners. He loved chatting. And especially with new acquaintances.

"The reason I am intrigued by this is because on all of the Atlases I have studied, they show no passages around Sumner's path, which is said to be the last barrier between the castle and invading forces."

Lumen picked up on the suspicion immediately. He smiled disarmingly as he introduced himself.

"I am Lumen Candeo. It is a pleasure to meet you Dyla, and you too Gusto."

Lumen smiled to himself as he saw Dyla get underneath Gusto's skin.

"I do not mind silence, for many people prefer to keep their voice to themselves. The quiet ones often have a vast amount of inner dialogue and reasoning, which can lead to great tactical versatility."

Lumen smiled while he nodded.

"Why thank you, I am glad you think so"

Lumen looked to Gusto as he spoke, he noticed the severe tone in the soldier's voice. It was clear that this man was extremely loyal to his country. Lumen respected the devotion.

"It is quite alright. I respect his skepticism. For I am a stranger from a foreign land, being transported inland farther than what any other stranger would get. In fact, this entire trip is a bit surprising, I was expecting my instructor to reside closer to the waterfront."

(Aye! I am getting REALLY drowsy, Can we continue this another time? I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I woke up REALLY early and it is really starting to show in my writing :-;)
