i love how people are like "just be yourself!!! don't try to be like everyone else!!!" but then as soon as somebody expresses a desire not seen as normal but isn't harmful to anyone people change their minds

I agree. I have a weird taste in music, books, etc. and people give me confused looks when I talk about them. I don't get what's wrong
