Micah stirs and stretches a bit. "Yeah. I was about to go to sleep, so you came in at a good time. What's up?"

"Its still daylight." He chuckled, "You had a tough night last night I gather." He presumed.

"Ugh, it is?" She muttered as she checked the window. "Ugh. It is. Yeah, last night wasn't so great. Anyway, what did you want?"

"Oh!" He said, "I wanted you to know I turned in the... "rocks", and got a bit of reward money. Here." He plopped a small pouch on her lap.

"Why're you giving that to me? I'm the one that got you into this whole mess. Here, you keep it." She pushed the pouch back to him. "'S the least I can do since you patched me up."

"Hey, you still worked for it. I got my reward by helping you. You were there for me when I had no one." He said, tossing it back.

"Huh? What was that last bit about?" She asked, as she caught the pouch and set it down.

"Well. When we first met, back when we were Baels, I had no one, no friends. I was lost and quiet. You first came up to me and opened me up, and I've been the way I am ever since." He relaxes his hands behind his head. "I don't need reward money to help you out." He smiled.

She chuckled to herself. "I didn't think you'd remember that! I remember you looking scared to death all the time. So I went to see why you were there.. The rest is history, I guess." She paused. "You know, I owe you too. I was, uh... Pretty different when we first met."

"I noticed you were pretty distant around any other Bael but me. You seemed like you had a hard past. Later I kind of learned about some things you went through, which makes me wonder...after all you went through, why did you actually come up to talk to someone like me on that day?"

"Simple. You were alone- like I was. I didn't think you looked cut out for a place like that. I figured since I didn't have anyone to watch my back when I first joined, the least I could do is be that for someone else. Right?"

"Right. Um, about watching backs... I don't know if you ever noticed, but as the tactician for some of the schemes the Baels raids, before setting out I uh... I sorta intentionally changed your job position in some of the schemes, so you wouldn't do so much dirty work..."

"....Oh my gods, you didn't. Is that why I went on so many heists before the Unity Tower mission?"

"Yeah. And actually it wasn't just a few... I changed any mission that you would be an assassin or in any way part of some fight to be recon or something less dangerous or evil. Stealing weighs less on the heart than murder." He said, somewhat sullenly.

"You sound like you speak from experience..
But thank you. Hitoshi, you might've saved my life. And even if not, you certainly saved my conscience." She half-joked, in an attempt to lighten the mood.

"Heh." He cracked a smile. "I couldn't see you any more distant... and, well, I haven't had to go around assassin missions, if that's what you mean , and thank the gods I never had to before my first field mission, which was when I found you with the others, which thankfully I hadn't had to fight any of your friends before seeing you. To be honest I probably would be dead!"

Micah winced a little at that last remark. "Yeah.. Yeah, I'm glad you found us when you did. I don't know what I would've done if you died, yknow?"

"Yeah..." he said, again sullenly.

"But, things worked out and we are both alive as ever. How did we escape Gelvak's grip and manage that?" He jokingly stated more than asked. "I'm glad to have had each other's back, though."

"It's a little thing called he's a terrible leader.
But yeah. It's nice to have someone watching my back for once."

He grimaced. "He's more than terrible to me...."

"Well.. um..." he scratches his head. "I guess that was it. Enjoy the reward money. Maybe get some pain relievers with it or something." He smiled

She stared at him for a second, and shrugged. "Guess you're right. He was a pretty bad guy. I can't wait until we don't have to worry about him anymore."
She glanced down at the pouch and sighed. "Fine, I'll take it. But expect a gift from yours truly in the future because of it!" She laughed. "But uh, before all that, I'm going to bed. See you later."

"Yeah, okay okay," he laughed. "I'll look forward to it!"

"Get some rest..."

He turned to walk away.

"...."

"Actually, Micah?"

"Huh? What's up?"

He turned back towards Micah.

"I... um... I actually lied a little." He confessed a bit sheepishly

She blinked, and stifled a laugh.
"You? Mr. Goodie two shoes? Lying? I must be dreaming.
So what'd you do?"

"Ohhh I didn't just lie." He said exhaling a self-reflecting tone as he sat down beside her.

"So... I didn't return ALL the uh, rocks."

"Oh. Ohhhhh." She began to laugh. "I don't believe it! How many did you keep?"

"Just enough." He said, as he handed her an amulet. "I got a few of them studded into your old amulet." He said smiling.

"I just couldn't wait for your nap to give it to you." He admitted

She picked up the amulet and stared at it. "No way- I thought I lost this! It looks amazing!" She grinned at him. "Thank you! I owe you!"

"Yeah." he scratched his head again. "I sorta pulled it off you when I bandaged you up last time. It is kinda a symbol of your past making up a better future. We both had sucky starts but we have made the best of it."

"You're a good guy. You say you aren't, but you are. You always have good intentions."

"Well... I AM a good guy!" He says with a goofy smile

"Well. Here's to a fresh start for the two of us! Once this mess is over, we'll start fresh, alright?" She smiled.

"Amen!" He concurred.

"....um... do you have any punch or cider or something to toast with? I didn't bring anything."
