I did have fun, thanks! The weather was cold and windy all week until yesterday, so we spent all day outside on the beach. I had recently been depressed about the fact that I didn't really have close friends irl, but after this vacation I've learned otherwise. ^v^

Wow, who would ever tell you that, Shadow? You too, Blood. I'll bet they're probably just jealous. I'll admit that when I was a starting artist here on Colors, I wished that the bigger artists would leave or stop improving so that I could become the best. Don't be discouraged by what others say, because they have no authority over you!

I was just having a bad day, I'm doing better now that I can draw again, and it's complicated it's no one on color, in real life... And I know, I won't even stop drawing I did that before and I felt like I was artistically killing myself, so I know not to go down that path again.

Yeah I was in the same spot Shadow, I had quit for 6ish months and felt I'd never be good, I still struggle, I look at my art and think it's not good enough. Like I'll never be a memorable or good enough artist.

But I want to keep pushing myself, people like Kjumper, FadingGlory, and many other artists I want to be just as good as or even better.

I've had people tell me to stop, tell me I suck and it's soul crushing, because some of them were actually better than me. But I think that's what helped me improve, to prove those people wrong, that I'm not wasting my time.

Random(ish) note: I don't like artists who follow a trend, for example drawing only ponies (MLP) or cartoon character (spongebob, steven universe, etc...). I feel they're trying to be popular through something that's not actually theirs. Or artists who try so hard to please others and ignore what makes them happy.

Don't ever stop drawing, Shadow! You'll only keep improving, and I know so many people would be sad if you quit. You have a wonderful influence on the people who see your art. Stay strong, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day :)

I've never seen it from that perspective, but it sounds pretty accurate now that you mention it, at least for some people... But sometimes it's all they know to draw and they're afraid to wander into new grounds. I used to draw art for How to Train Your Dragon all the time because I didn't have the confidence to design my own dragon, but that eventually changed.

Sorry I need to draw something and spend a bit of time trying to figure out a pic of Saturn.

I listened to someone who was criticizing me about​ art more thin one in my life. When I was just a kid I was told I had poor choice in colors so I stop using colors for many, many years my world was black and white, at one time I was mad because of that, but using just thought 2 colors for a long time help me understand shading and highlights, and I never had a poor choice of color I just like bright shiny colors that all. I have been told more then one I will never make it anywhere expecially with fantasy creatures, and was told to stop drawing them one time right after my first art show, so I stop drawing all together I barely even sketched anything for over a year, big blue and Catch where one of the few OC I draw in that time, i learned that some people just try to bring you down and everyone has different tastes in art, so now I'm not going to stop drawing what I love fantasy creatures.

Blood your an amazing artist! You have inspired​ time and time again, and skills grow rapid rate it's amazing! I wish I was half as good as you at your age.

I don't really like it when people only draw fandom stuff either, but with some people they're not doing it to be popular, they just like drawing that stuff.
One of the things I DO hate is when someone repeatedly draws the same character and nothing else, a few of the artists I follow on DA do that. It doesn't matter whether it's a fandom one or original one. I get so bored of constantly seeing the same thing, Sometimes I have no choice but to unfollow them.

I'm pretty sure it's easier for right-handed people to draw things facing left, and vice-versa for left-handed people. I nearly always draw character faced to the left of the screen, I have to flip the picture afterwards sometimes, or they'd all be like that.

Hmm, do you think it would be a good idea if we had our SKeys break tomorrow? With Shadow absent and Lilly struggling to make it, the majority of our characters will be stuck. And even if we manage to get our characters away from interactions with them, there will hardly be anything for us to do, since the story can't continue without Shadow. Does anyone else feel like we should cancel tomorrow's session?

Yaeh Whisper and Lisani have been the hardest to even try and put into the plot because Day is so sporadic in the RP, their personalities are also difficult to read and are kind of in there own story

Pretty much saying how I don't enjoy rp'ing with @Day and how she doesn't seem to care about SKeys, she's lost in her own RP world (FAF) and she connects it to everyone else's RP world which kinda annoys me.

I do not hate her, but I don't enjoy her company.

Ah, I see now, yaeh she does do that and that's the hardest part of her characters because she does try to fit her world into someone else's, I don't mind little cameos but it's really difficult when you got 2 plots moving against each other, I don't want people to feel that they can't​ have there only Story with in the plot and everyone else fits beautifully but I can never seen to figure out Day place in the plot she seen to run things her own way.

I don't mind Day, she has a lot of energy, buy something gets a little carried away.

also if I ever did make sKey into a book series (with everyone's permission of course) her shadow Fury could not be used (or would need to be redone) because they are a fan made character based off of the Night fury from HTTRD franchise

I haven't RPed with Day at all since the beginning of SKeys, but I've stalked a lot of it, and I see what you mean. In my opinion if you can't invest enough time into an RP or you don't care about it anymore then you shouldn't participate, that's why I've left roleplays before. I think she'd be better off focusing on FaF rather than being involved in SKeys.

Yeah at first I had no problem with her characters, I enjoyed their interactions with Hiiro and it was fun to have him babysit them, sometimes.

Yeah that's why I don't make characters based off popular franchises, I want to be unique and be able to use my characters as I please. Hiiro and Soryn are two of my favorites.

I am also probably one of the few people who absolutely hates HTTYD, I use to like it, but how stupidly popular it got and all the constant art of it annoys me. (SOOOO many people reference it! IT'S NOT THAT GOOD!)

Sometimes I wonder how Draorture would've fitted into the RP if I hadn't left.

I find having made your own characters is more unique and just enjoyable, I found most people who have fan base characters are OP because​ they tend to idolize that franchise or character they are basing there on, love some original characters can be too but I find most people have some sort of weakness or balance to them compared to fan-made characters.

I really love HTTRD when it first come out and evening the second movie I couldn't really get into the books too much my aunt love them but they weren't for me, but my love for the series has dropped i enjoy it still but it lack and contradicts itself a lot of times

I've been thinking about that a lot, how we've got two more Keys than we do RPers, and I came up with an idea. I know @Mythic and @Ash are interested in SKeys, so I thought maybe we could make a "test" for them, make them read up on all the RPs and then ask them questions about the story so far. I dunno, it was just an idea I had, I figured I'd throw it out there. It would be a solution to who gets the Keys, though, it bothers me that Purity has a Key, when she was never meant to have one, and Terra couldn't carry Whisper's Key around because he's dead.

I was always interested in creating another character for Soledormirs Keys, but I didn't, I settled on Hiiro because I figured we'd gotten too far into the story and I didn't want to stress Shadow with changing more of her story

In one way why I made the random RP was not only get to use other oc, but also get to RP with different people and see how they rp, @Mythic and @Ash would be the only one I would consider, but I have to weigh the pros and cons of adding new members, I would have to figure how to fit them into the plot and who would are characters integrate with them?, They would feel in some slots that are open, but I can easily adjust the story to fix that, or leave it open for new members, it's something that needs to be discussed with everyone.

There just a lot of Story at the city that the group is at and well by time the big plan take place the story well actually be about halfway and we'll most likely move at a different pace, but I don't want to force anything ether it's a lot more enjoyable to follow the flow of the RP and build on that

It's not because my dad is a bad driver, it's because our car is basically falling apart.
The brakes stick on, making a horrible grinding noise, something underneath the car's body scrapes along the road when we're moving, and we can't reverse at all without producing more horrible noises.
I kinda feel like the whole back end of the car is going to catch fire and take me with it at any second.

I wouldn't mind that, Lilly! Although, if I remember, Asterion was a normal dragon until his ice corrupted him. With the species I have in mind the dragon will always be covered with whatever element it has. Since no two of them will look alike, we can say that Asterion just looks like one of them? Unless you think you've got a better idea.

A little info to help you out, the main traits of the species are the element wings, armored arms, and the plates with the glowing lights underneath. Each species, when born, has a little bit of its element on its body, but as it grows more covers it. When an adult is in combat, its element temporarily goes beyond the age's limit, coating the arms like clubs and sometimes creating armor, depending on the element.

Also, this species will probably only be given out to close friends, so you guys get first dibs. XD But knowing me, you can't expect them anytime soon. TuT

I keep looking at the Maelstrom pic I did and some part of me wants to re-do it, I keep mentally picking out what I could do better, it's driving me insane

Oh, and if any of you have more suggestions for the elements that you want to share, I'd love to hear them. I'm trying to think of elements that can at least make up the wings, but not go into gems/minerals because I've already got a species like that.

Gotta like the mysterious characters. XD I like any color so long as it looks good in a color combination. For example, I only like purple if it's with colors like gold and white. I like light blue, but I wouldn't put it with green and purple.

Prayer is not really some ritualistic thing - in the simplest terms, it's just having a conversation with God. It's alright if you're confused, nobody's pressuring you. ^-^
