This might be my worst background ever, but I'm tired of redrawing it over and over X'P
I decided to turn Phantera's reference picture into a legitimate painting while Colors! was down yesterday. I really like his toes, for once.

Some random facts about Phanty here: he can hold his breath for a long amount of time underwater, which is very useful for him, since he cannot swim, and immediately sinks if he tries.
His scaleless skin is very thick, and has little feeling throughout most of his body, you could step on his tail and he likely wouldn't feel it. His paws and his head are the most sensitive parts of his body.
People who have touched the stripe on Phantera's side say it feels smooth and hard, like a gemstone. It seems there's something special about it, though even Phantera doesn't know what it could be.

also i think the bg looks nice not worse! but i know how hard it can be to draw realistic lineless landscape.... im currently drawing art-trades and i tried to do an lineless bg, but wuw thats not so easy than it looks like X)
btw awsome shading on the creature
