You don't have to draw EVERY feather, you know. If you give a SUGGESTION of feathers, it can work just as well! Plus since the other wing is closer to the "camera lense", you can cheat further by making it blurry! There are tutorials on DeviantArt for both these things, if you have the patience to sift through all the n00b "tutorials" that couldn't draw their way out of a paper bag. This is already looking beautiful, by the way.
