Here's some tips-
Always put the link of the original photo in the description once you're done using a reference.
And for coloring, soft pastel-ish colors would look good. I know you're trying to go for realistic, but if you add in bright yellow lights on top of soft colors, it'll look really good.
Most importantly, have fun with this ;v;

Tip: Never do shading with just the color black unless your doing shadowing. Always just do a darker shade of the color your trying to use to shade.
